Buccaneers released WR Wallace Wright.

The move clears a roster spot for waivers acquisition Jordan Shipley. A former undrafted free agent, Wright has appeared in 51 games since 2006, but none since 2009. He has just eight career catches. Wallace is likely at the end of the line.

Bucs signed WRs Wallace Wright and Armahd Lewis.

A special teams ace for the Jets from 2007-09, Wright has caught just eight passes in his five-year career. A track athlete at Utah State, Lewis played just one year of football, for Central Washington University. He's a longshot for a kick return role.

Wallace Wright has been on the first-team unit when the Panthers have gone to three wide receiver sets during practice.

Wright is a special teams ace but has caught only eight passes in his four professional seasons. This isn't a huge surprise, as Steve Smith is injured and the two favorites for the No. 3 role, Brandon LaFell and Armanti Edwards, are rookies that have to start at the bottom of the totem pole. Don't put Wright on your sleeper list.

Panthers signed WR Wallace Wright to a two-year, $1.7 million contract, including a $200,000 signing bonus.

Wright, 26, is strictly a special teamer. The former undrafted free agent out of North Carolina has caught just eight passes in four seasons as a pro.

Jets beat writer Mark Cannizzaro speculates that special teamer Wallace Wright will see some snaps in the slot with Chansi Stuckey gone.

Wright and Mark Sanchez showed good chemistry in the preseason, but it's very unlikely Wright will get enough snaps to have a fantasy impact. Expect Brad Smith to become the main No. 3 receiver in the slot with David Clowney running the occasional situational deep route. Jerricho Cotchery and Braylon Edwards are the only Jets wideouts to own right now.

Wallace Wright is reportedly emerging as a go-to receiver for Mark Sanchez.

A special teams ace for the past three seasons, Wright has just six career receptions. While the Jets' receiving roles appear wide open after Jerricho Cotchery, Wright is a long-shot to leapfrog Chansi Stuckey and Brad Smith.

Jets WR Wallace Wright is expected to challenge Brad Smith for playing time in 2008.

Wright, primarily a special teamer the last two seasons, made some strides as a pass catcher late in 2007 and hauled in two passes for 47 yards in the season finale. At best, Wright figures to be a fourth receiver in 2008.
