Free agent QB Brady Quinn worked out for an unnamed team Monday.
Quinn revealed the information on the Dan Patrick Show while discussing his new gig as a Fox Sports analyst. Shortly after, Patrick sidekick Andrew Perloff said he heard the unnamed team was the Patriots. It's likely a case of Bill Belichick updating his emergency list just in case of injury or a Ryan Mallet trade. Aug 1 - 12:02 PM

Free agent Brady Quinn has been hired by FOX Sports as a college football announcer.

Quinn said just last month that he hoped to continue his playing career, but he apparently didn't like his odds of finding a home. Quinn spent time with the Seahawks, Jets and Rams in 2013, but failed to attempt a single pass before undergoing back surgery in November. One of the bigger draft busts in recent memory, Quinn turns 30 in October. He's almost certainly played his final down.

Free agent QB Brady Quinn is currently rehabbing from back discectomy surgery and hoping to continue his playing career.

Quinn, 29, had surgery last November after bouncing between the Seahawks, Rams, and Jets. Ross Tucker's Podcast with Quinn -- available at the link below -- is a recommended listen. Quinn describes how different the Super Bowl champion Seahawks are from other teams, explains what the NFL Combine is like, and opines on why he failed to live up to his first-round draft status.

Brady Quinn (injured reserve) underwent a microscopic lumbar discectomy surgery in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

In layman's terms, Quinn had back surgery. Dr. Robert Watkins performed the procedure. It's the same operation Rob Gronkowski had in June. The Rams previously announced Quinn was placed on I.R. with a hip injury. Either way, he's done for the season and should be ready for 2014.

Rams placed QB Brady Quinn (hip) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Quinn was signed in Week 8 and spent the last three games inactive as the No. 3 quarterback. Austin Davis will continue to handle backup duties behind Kellen Clemens. The Rams have promoted CB Quinton Pointer from the practice squad to replace Quinn on the active roster.

Rams signed QB Brady Quinn.

The Rams have also signed Austin Davis, giving them two bodies behind starter Kellen Clemens. We'd assume Quinn will slide in at second on the depth chart, but if the Rams are feeling bold, it could be Davis. Quinn has failed time and again in the NFL, to the extent that it's amazing he's still around. He's never been effective in any capacity. The Rams will be in more trouble than they already are if Quinn has to appear in a game.

Jets released QB Brady Quinn.

The move clears a roster spot for David Garrard. Behind Matt Simms on the depth chart, Quinn had been a weekly inactive during his time in New York. One week shy of his 29th birthday, Quinn is about out of chances after bombing in Kansas City last season. Considering his career numbers, it's remarkable he's lasted as long as he has, but he'll reportedly work out for the Rams on Tuesday.

Jets declared QB Brady Quinn, LB Ricky Sapp, OL William Campbell, OT Ben Ijalana, OL Oday Aboushi, WR Ryan Spadola, and LB Scott Solomon inactive for Week 3 against the Bills.

Quinn is the Jets' third-string quarterback behind Geno Smith and Matt Simms. Quinton Coples is back from an ankle injury and will make his season debut.

Jets re-signed QB Brady Quinn.

The Jets didn't want to guarantee Quinn's contract, so they let him go on Saturday. Now he's back to serve as depth behind Geno Smith and Matt Simms. Mark Sanchez is meeting with Dr. James Andrews this week to get a second opinion on his throwing shoulder.

Jets released QB Brady Quinn.

As expected. Quinn's salary would have become guaranteed had he been on the roster at 4 PM ET Saturday. The Jets will go into the opener with Geno Smith and Matt Simms at quarterback. Quinn will likely be re-signed Monday afternoon. He's only going to be on the roster for however long Mark Sanchez is out.

The Jets have discussed releasing Brady Quinn on Saturday.

Quinn's salary becomes guaranteed for the season if he is on the roster at 4 PM ET Saturday. The Jets can cut him then re-sign him Monday. There's a good chance it will happen. We'll likely see a few veterans get the ax around the league this afternoon. Quinn is the Jets' No. 3 quarterback this week.
Sat, Sep 7, 2013 09:37:00 AM

Jets signed QB Brady Quinn and released QB Graham Harrell.

Quinn enters the fray in Rex Ryan's quarterback carousel, which also includes Geno Smith, Mark Sanchez and Matt Simms. Quinn has gone 4-16 in 20 career starts, holds a 53.9 completion percentage and has a 12:17 TD-to-INT ratio. In other words, the Jets are still grasping at straws. Smith remains the most likely starter in Sunday's opener against the Bucs.

Seahawks released QB Brady Quinn.

Quinn handled himself well in the preseason, going 22-of-38 for 271 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. But he never had a realistic shot to beat out Tarvaris Jackson for the No. 2 gig behind Russell Wilson. Quarterback-needy teams like the Bills could do worse than kicking the tires on Quinn.

The Seattle Times doesn't expect Brady Quinn to make the Seahawks' final roster.

Tarvaris Jackson is locked in as Russell Wilson's backup. Quinn has had a pretty solid preseason while playing against mainly second- and third-stringers, completing 14-of-23 passes (60.9 percent) for 161 yards (7.0 YPA), two touchdowns, and no turnovers. He'll likely be one of the top quarterbacks cut.

Seahawks agreed to terms with QB Brady Quinn, formerly of the Chiefs.

Quinn beat out Matt Leinart, Tyler Thigpen and Seneca Wallace for the right to back up Russell Wilson, at least for now. A poor scheme fit behind read-option maven Wilson, Quinn was absolutely dreadful in 197 pass attempts for the Chiefs last season, completing just 56.9 percent of his throws. That number was accompanied by a 60.1 QB rating, 5.8 yards per attempt and 2:8 TD:INT ratio. Considering Quinn's lack of running ability and long track record of failure, Seattle probably isn't done making moves at quarterback.
