Jaguars LB Paul Posluszny said he will be moving to the strong side.
Posluszny has played in the middle throughout his career and is coming off a solid season, but the Jaguars want to make room for 2016 second-rounder Myles Jack in the middle. "It's going to be the biggest challenge of my career," Posluszny said of the move. If the veteran can keep up his level of play at a new position in his age-33 season, the Jaguars should boast a quality linebacker corps. Apr 18 - 12:26 PM

Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny is expected back for a seventh season with the team.

New EVP Tom Coughlin spoke highly of Posluszny at Friday's press conference. Posluszny had one of the best seasons of his career in 2016, leading the Jags in tackles (133) as usual and earning PFF's No. 4 inside linebacker grade among 59 qualifiers. Signed only through 2017, "Poz" turns 33 in October.

ESPN Jaguars reporter Mike DiRocco expects Paul Posluszny to hold onto the middle linebacker job this season.

Coach Gus Bradley said he still sees Posluszny as a three-down linebacker. It would be odd for a coach to say something negative about a veteran, but the reality is Poz has been past his prime for several seasons. Myles Jack (knee) will be limited in the offseason program, making it unlikely he jumps Posluszny by Week 1, but Jack is the future at the position.

Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny (hand) returned to practice on Wednesday.

He practiced fully and should start against the Falcons after missing Week 14 with a fractured hand. Although Posluszny has drawn poor run-defense grades from Pro Football Focus, his absences have correlated with weakened run defense from the Jags. The Jaguars will be at full strength for Devonta Freeman.

Jaguars declared MLB Paul Posluszny, WR Rashad Lawrence, CB Demetrius McCray, DE Ryan Davis, OL Luke Bowanko, WR Bryan Walters and TE Nic Jacobs inactive for Week 14 against the Colts.

Posluszny is week to week with a broken hand. Jordan Tripp is filling in.

Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny (hand) has been ruled out for Week 14 against the Colts.

Jordan Tripp will likely get the start at MIKE. Truthfully, Posluszny might be an addition by subtraction. He's been one of the worst inside linebackers in the league the past couple years. "Poz" is bereft of playmaking ability and is pretty much a gang tackler. He tackles what he sees. The biggest loss will be his leadership and role as the on-field play-caller.

Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny had surgery to repair his fractured right hand Tuesday.

Despite the procedure, coach Gus Bradley is holding out hope Posluszny will be able to play this week against the Colts. "He had surgery, so he’ll come back and now we’re just waiting to see about his availability," Bradley said. Linebackers have played with casts on broken hands before, but asking Posluszny to suit up five days after surgery is tough. Jordan Tripp would start if Posluszny cannot play.

Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny has been diagnosed with a broken right hand.

It's unclear if Posluszny will play through the issue, but it wouldn't be the first time a linebacker has done so. The Jags' floundering defense can ill afford to lose its middle linebacker.

Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny had a cast on his right hand following the Week 13 loss to the Titans.

Posluszny played almost every snap against Tennessee, so it is unclear when the injury occurred. The extent of the injury is also unknown, but losing Posluszny for any amount of time would be a big loss. With Dan Skuta out with a groin injury, the Jags are getting thin at linebacker.

Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny (ankle) is listed as probable for Week 6.

Posluszny missed last week's loss to the Bucs, and the Jags were promptly gashed by Doug Martin. "Poz" will be needed Sunday against Arian Foster.

Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny (ankle) is listed as questionable for Week 5 against the Bucs.

Posluszny did not practice all week with a high-ankle sprain. It would be very surprising if he played, but coach Gus Bradley suggested he will be a game-time decision. Posluszny has the fifth-most tackles in the league this season.

Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain.

It's a week-to-week injury. Posluszny is all but guaranteed to miss Week 5. An every-down player, Posluszny is in the top five in tackles, a familiar position. Thurston Armbrister is the next man up on the depth chart.

Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny left Week 4 against the Colts with an ankle injury.

The Jaguars are listing his return as questionable. Thurston Armbrister replaced Posluszny in base sets.

Jaguars MLB Paul Posluszny leads the NFL in tackles.

Posluszny set a single-game career high for tackles in Week 3, recording 18 to take his season mark to 34. He's not showing any signs of slowing down due to age or injury when looking at the box scores. Posluszny's owners in IDP leagues will be relishing a plum Week 4 matchup against the Colts.

Paul Posluszny remains a three-down middle linebacker.

Posluszny will be 31 in October and has plenty of severe injuries on his resume. But the Jags aren't backing off, meaning he'll be a fine IDP target once again. Posluszny is averaging a gaudy 9.73 tackles per game in his last 38 outings.
