Cowboys agreed to terms with LB Justin Durant, formerly of the Lions, on a two-year contract.
Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the deal won't become official until the Cowboys can clear some more cap space. Recent estimates have had Big D barely $100,000 below the cap. Coming off a 103-tackle campaign for the Lions, Durant will book-end Bruce Carter on the outside, leaving Sean Lee to man the middle. Durant graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 18 4-3 outside linebacker last season. It's a cost-efficient, if low-impact signing for the cap-strapped Cowboys. Mar 26 - 1:25 PM

Free agents SLB Justin Durant and S Will Allen took physicals for the Cowboys on Monday.

Free agent FS Michael Huff was also in town, but he didn't undergo a medical screening. The Cowboys have zero wiggle room under the salary cap, so a deal for either player is unlikely to happen right now.

Free agents SLB Justin Durant and S Will Allen will visit the Cowboys on Monday.

The Cowboys are starting to get in on the action a little bit now that it's dumpster-diving season on the free-agent market. Durant, 28, started 14 games for the Lions last season and racked up 103 tackles. Allen, 31 in June, started seven games for the Steelers and registered 34 tackles and three pass breakups.

The Newark Star-Ledger reports the Giants have expressed interest in free agent LB Justin Durant.

New York is intent on overhauling its linebacker corps. In addition to Durant, they've shown interest in free agents Rey Maualuga and Jasper Brinkley. Durant played strong-side 'backer in Detroit for the past two seasons. If signed, Mathias Kiwanuka could move back down to defensive end.

Free agent SLB Justin Durant reiterated his desire to re-sign with the Lions.

"I definitely want to come back to the Lions and I hope we’ll be able to get something going," he said. This is Durant's third time through free agency. Since joining the Lions in 2011, Durant has started 26-of-29 games played.

Lions impending free agent SLB Justin Durant wants to re-sign with the team.

"Hopefully we get something worked out to where I'm back in Detroit. I love the city, I love the fans, love playing there," said Durant. At 27 years old, Durant is coming off the best season of his career which saw him register 103 tackles. He is also one of 12 free agents on defense for the Lions.

The Detroit News believes the Lions will be unable to re-sign both SLB Justin Durant and WLB DeAndre Levy this offseason.

Both linebackers are among the eight Lions starters slated to hit unrestricted free agency. Travis Lewis and Tahir Whitehead, both selected late in the 2012 draft, are viewed as potential replacements in the starting lineup.

Lions SLB Justin Durant (concussion) has been cleared to return to practice.

Durant tweeted Tuesday that he "may be back on the field this week." He has missed the Lions' past three games. As long as he doesn't suffer a setback this week, Durant will likely return against the Falcons on Sunday, sending Bobby Carpenter back to the bench.

Lions SLB Justin Durant had a relapse in his concussion symptoms after returning to practice late last week.

Durant has already missed two games, and he'll have to go through testing again this week to gain clearance. Coach Jim Schwartz concedes that he's the "king of not presenting timetables," but even if he was so inclined, he couldn't suggest a timetable because the team has to "objectively let symptoms clear." Bobby Carpenter has played well the past two weeks as a fill-in.

Lions SLB Justin Durant (concussion) is listed as out for Week 4.

It could be a helpful boost to Felix Jones' fantasy matchup, at least on strong-side runs. Pro Football Focus graded Durant as a top-ten run-defending 4-3 outside 'backer in the first three games. Bobby Carpenter will start.

Lions SLB Justin Durant is going through post-concussion testing this week.

We never heard that Durant suffered a concussion last week, but the Lions must suspect that it happened. Durant was held out of practice on Thursday, a sign that his status is in question for the Cowboys game this week. Bobby Carpenter would fill in if Durant can't go.

Justin Durant is working as the Lions' starting strong-side linebacker in training camp.

Stephen Tulloch is still listed as the weak-side linebacker on the Lions' website depth chart, though he started the preseason opener in the middle. DeAndre Levy is ticketed for Will. Durant figures to come off the field on most passing downs, but Detroit is counting on him to plug against the run.
