Bucs released DE Tim Crowder.

Crowder was owed only $1 million in base salary, but the former Broncos second-round pick is a stiff pass rusher who didn't manage a single sack in 10 appearances last season. The 26-year-old's NFL future is grim at this point.

Bucs placed DE Tim Crowder (concussion) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Crowder sustained the concussion in last week's game. The medical staff must not have liked what they saw from him throughout this week. Signed through 2012, Crowder should return as a solid rotational end next season.

Bucs re-signed DE Tim Crowder to a two-year contract.

The 26-year-old Crowder racked up just three sacks in nine starts (16 appearances) last season, seeing more action with the first-team defense than the Bucs would have preferred. He'll battle for a role in sub-packages this year. Pro Football Focus grades Crowder poorly as both a run stopper and rusher.

Free agent DE Tim Crowder would like to re-sign with Tampa Bay.

Crowder has appeared in 31 of the Bucs' 32 games the past two years, starting 13. Still just 25 and coming off a three-sack season, he shouldn't have too hard a time finding a new home if Tampa decides not to bring him back.

Bucs DE Tim Crowder is expected to start in place of Kyle Moore (shoulder) in Week 11.

Sunday will mark Crowder's second straight start. The four year veteran has two sacks in limited playing time in 2010.

Bucs signed DE Tim Crowder, formerly of the Broncos.

Defensive ccoordinator Jim Bates previously held the same post in Denver and knows Crowder's strengths, so it's a solid landing spot. Crowder, the 56th overall pick in 2007, flamed out with Denver because he didn't fit the 3-4.

Broncos released DE/OLB Tim Crowder.

Crowder was given a shot to be an outside linebacker in the 3-4, but it didn't work out. He's just doesn't fit anywhere in that scheme. Someone who runs a 4-3 will probably give the former second-round pick another shot.

Tim Crowder and first-round rookie Robert Ayers were the outside linebackers in the Broncos' base defense as mandatory minicamps began Friday.

The Broncos appear to favor Crowder as a run-stopper, but they plan to do a lot of substituting depending on situation. Elvis Dumervil will replace Crowder in the nickel package, with Ayers moving to defensive end opposite Darrell Reid.

Broncos DE Tim Crowder is expected to have a difficult time transitioning to the team's new 3-4 defense.

At 6'4/275, Crowder is too light for the five technique (3-4 DE) and too heavy to be a stand-up linebacker. He was viewed strictly as a base 4-3 end coming out of Texas in 2007. The Broncos might shop Crowder around this summer.

Broncos declared DEs Tim Crowder and Jarvis Moss, WR Darrell Jackson, FB Peyton Hillis, RB Ryan Torain, OT Erik Pears, OG Dylan Gandy, QB Darrell Hackney, and DT Josh Shaw inactive for Week 5.

Crowder and Moss were Denver's top two draft picks in 2007. Jackson has a calf injury and is low on the depth chart. Torain could be back by Week 8.

Broncos rookie DE Tim Crowder practiced without limits on Wednesday.

The backup and second-round pick is recovered from an ankle injury.

Browns DE Tim Crowder's ankle injury has lingered and he sat out the team's practice session on Thursday.

Crowder has fallen to the third team unit after his solid preseason came to a halt due to a high ankle sprain. Elvis Dumervil and Jarvis Moss are with the twos. Recent signee Simeon Rice is listed as Denver's starting right end.
Fri, Sep 7, 2007 10:14:00 AM

Rookie DE Tim Crowder is more likely than first-round pick Jarvis Moss to replace Ebenezer Ekuban in Denver's base defense.

Moss is probably stuck in a nickel pass rusher role. Denver, who had such big problems rushing the passer last season, doesn't look great on paper again. Veteran Kenard Lang and Elvis Dumervil are other candidates for more snaps.

Broncos signed second-round DE Tim Crowder to a four-year contract.

Crowder outproduced Denver's first-round pick, Jarvis Moss, in college and has better size. The two should be starting opposite one another by 2008.
