Cardinals agreed to terms with OLB LaMarr Woodley, formerly of the Raiders.
Coming off a lost age-30 season where a torn biceps limited him to just six games, Woodley was released by the Raiders nine days ago. He'll be reuniting with ex-Steelers assistant Bruce Arians in Arizona, and should kick back out to outside linebacker in Arizona's 3-4 scheme. Woodley will have the inside track on a 53-man roster spot, but will have to prove he's not out of gas after last year's sack-less debacle. Mar 10 - 2:08 PM

Raiders released DE LaMarr Woodley.

Beleaguered Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie made some decent draft picks last year, but his free agent class was a disaster. Among his pickups was Woodley, whom Oakland signed to a two-year, $12 million deal. At age 30, Woodley looked all out of gas early in the season before landing on I.R. with a torn biceps tendon. He should be available for the minimum salary this offseason.

CSN Bay Area expects the Raiders to release DE/OLB LaMarr Woodley.

Signed to a $12 million deal last March, Woodley was limited to six games before suffering a season-ending biceps injury. He was playing at a backup-caliber level prior to going down, and won't be back at his $3.85 million salary. The Raiders can save $5.19M by releasing Woodley.

Raiders placed OLB LaMarr Woodley (biceps) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Woodley appeared in all six games (five starts) prior to going down, grading out negatively as a pass rusher and against the run. His signing is another failed move by GM Reggie McKenzie, who gave Woodley a two-year deal in March. The Raiders will move forward with Benson Mayowa. Woodley is a candidate for offseason release.

Raiders OLB LaMarr Woodley is expected to miss the rest of the season with a torn biceps muscle.

He won't be missed. Woodley was a complete non-factor in six games for the Raiders, managing five tackles and zero sacks. Dating back to the 2009 season, Woodley's sack totals in chronological order are 13.5, 10, 9, 4, 5, and 0. GM Reggie McKenzie signed Woodley to a two-year, $12 million deal this past March. Only the Titans and Raiders -- two of the worst-run organizations in pro sports -- had interest after the Steelers cut him this past spring. Woodley figures to be released by Oakland in the offseason.

Raiders OLB LaMarr Woodley is dealing with a potentially serious biceps injury.

Anyone notice he was playing? Although Woodley has appeared in all six Raiders games this year, starting five, he has zero sacks and five tackles, and has graded out negatively as both a pass rusher and run defender according to Pro Football Focus. He's just another whiff by GM Reggie McKenzie.

LaMarr Woodley confirmed he will play defensive end in Oakland.

He'll likely play right end with Justin Tuck at his natural left end spot. With Sio Moore in the Von Miller role at strong-side linebacker and left end on pass-rushing downs -- with Tuck kicking to three technique in those scenarios -- the Raiders do have the potential to bring some pressure. They also fielded a respectable front seven in 2013, however, and finished 4-12.

Raiders agreed to terms with DE/OLB LaMarr Woodley, formerly of the Steelers, on a two-year contract.

The deal is worth a maximum of $12 million. Oakland was the only visit Woodley, 30, made; he was scheduled to visit Tennessee next. With 2013 starting DEs Lamarr Houston and Justin Hunter free agents and Houston already signing with Chicago, the Raiders replace them with Woodley and Justin Tuck on Thursday. Woodley has exclusively been a 3-4 outside linebacker. The Raiders run a 4-3. In today's NFL, pass rushers are pass rushers.

Free agent OLB LaMarr Woodley is scheduled to visit the Titans Friday.

This has been the expected landing spot for Woodley all along. New Titans defensive coordinator Ray Horton was in Pittsburgh during Woodley's first four NFL seasons and he's now installing a 3-4 in Tennessee. The only question is if the Oakland -- where Woodley visited Wednesday -- will blow him away with an offer he can't refuse. Reggie McKenzie has cap space to burn.

The Nashville Tennessean confirms the Titans have "some interest" in free agent OLB LaMarr Woodley.

Woodley is visiting the Raiders on Wednesday, an indication he's seeking top dollar after Pittsburgh cut him. A previous report stated "many" people in the Steelers' organization expect Woodley to land with Ray Horton in Tennessee.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports many in the Steelers' organization expect free agent OLB LaMarr Woodley to sign with the Titans.

The Titans are transitioning to a 3-4 defense under new DC Ray Horton. Horton was on the Steelers' defensive coaching staff for Woodley's first four seasons in the NFL. Woodley has been injury prone in recent years, but when healthy is a true franchise pass rusher. He'd be an outstanding get for Tennessee.

Steelers will release OLB LaMarr Woodley.

He'll be designated as a post-June 1 release, allowing the Steelers to spread out his $14.17 million in dead money over the next two seasons. The team won't see any salary-cap savings until June 2. Woodley's release was a fait accompli after the Steelers re-signed OLB Jason Worilds. Woodley still has some juice left as a pass rusher, but has become increasingly injury prone, and will turn 30 in November. He'll draw interest as a situational pass rusher for 3-4 teams.

Steelers OLB LaMarr Woodley is expected to be released if the team can retain free agent OLB Jason Worilds.

Worilds was slapped with the transition tag Monday, but that hardly means he'll remain a Steeler in 2014. Pittsburgh just has the right of first refusal with Worilds. Woodley is set to count $13.6 million against the salary cap and would be far too expensive to keep around as a part-time player behind Worilds and second-year OLB Jarvis Jones. He's missed 14 games since 2011.

After examining OLB LaMarr Woodley's contract, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette strongly indicates Woodley is unlikely to be a Steeler in 2014.

"The more you look closely at the LaMarr Woodley situation, the more you conclude that either by March 11 or after June 1, he no longer will be a Steeler," writes longtime beat reporter Ed Bouchette. The Steelers seem very interested in re-signing Jason Worilds, and will surely be counting on 2013 first-round pick Jarvis Jones to become a second-year starter. GM Kevin Colbert will likely ask Woodley to take a pay cut. If he doesn't, he'll be shown the door.

ESPN says LaMarr Woodley (IR, calf) will have to take a significant pay cut this offseason or the Steelers will have to "seriously consider" releasing him.

Woodley signed a six-year, $61.5 million contract in 2011 that made him the highest paid defensive player in franchise history. Since then, he's missed 14 games due to injury and produced just 18 sacks in the 34 games he's appeared in. There are whispers in Pittsburgh about his conditioning and weight. The Steelers could bring back rapidly improving Jason Worilds and line him up across from Jarvis Jones at outside linebacker in 2014. Woodley, who carries a 2014 base salary of $8 million, turned 29 years old last month.
