Free agent DE Victor Abiamiri insists his knee is now back to 100 percent after missing the 2010 season with microfracture surgery.

Beat writer Jeff McLane suggests the Eagles could bring Abiamiri back after failing to land a defensive end in the draft. We wouldn't bank on it. Coach Andy Reid mentioned Darryl Tapp, Daniel Te'o-Nesheim, and Ricky Sapp as fallback plans before the draft. Abiamiri has played just 29 of 64 games since being selected in the second round back in 2007.

Free agent DE Victor Abiamiri is not expected back with the Eagles.

The 57th overall pick in the 2007 draft, Abiamiri missed all of last season after having microfracture knee surgery. The procedure was performed last winter, indicating that Abiamiri may have suffered multiple setbacks.

The Eagles will not activate DE Victor Abiamiri (knee) from reserve/PUP, ending his season.

Abiamiri had a microfracture procedure early last winter, but either had a setback or simply wasn't deemed valuable enough to activate for the final eight games. The 57th overall pick in the 2007 draft, Abiamiri is eligible for free agency in 2011. We suspect he's played his last snap as an Eagle.

Eagles coach Andy Reid was noncommittal about the status of DE Victor Abiamiri (knee), who is eligible to be activated from the reserve/PUP list.

Reid said Abiamiri is "making progress" but that the team still had a few weeks to decide what to do with him. It doesn't sound like he'll be activated until after the team's Week 8 bye.

Eagles placed DE Victor Abiamiri (knee) on the reserve/PUP list.

Philly will have the option to activate Abiamiri during a three-week window beginning in Week 7, and the decision will come down to his response from offseason microfracture surgery. Abiamiri was an asset in run defense down the stretch last year, so he'll at the very least be worth a look at that time.

Eagles DE Victor Abiamiri (microfracture surgery) will either start the season on the PUP list or be placed on injured reserve for the entire season.

The Eagles have essentially moved on from Abiamiri after drafting Brandon Graham, Daniel Te'o-Nesheim, and Ricky Sapp this year. Abiamiri's surgery turned out to be more serious than first believed, and he's unlikely to have a role when he returns.

Eagles DE Victor Abiamiri (microfracture surgery) admitted Monday that he doesn't have a timetable for return.

Abiamiri probably won't practice in camp, thus making him eligible to start the season on PUP. He'll be low on the depth chart if he gets back on the roster.

Eagles coach Andy Reid confirmed that DE Victor Abiamiri (microfracture surgery) likely won't be ready for the start of training camp.

The Eagles aren't even be counting on Abiamiri for Week 1. They drafted three defensive linemen in April's draft as they rebuild their pass rush. Abiamiri could very well start the season on the PUP list.

Eagles trainer Rick Burkhalter confirmed Friday that DE Victor Abiamiri is coming off microfracture knee surgery.

During what was supposed to be a routine scope this winter, surgeons apparently found enough damage in the knee to do a microfracture. The surgery may sideline Abiamiri into the season. He's a PUP candidate.

Eagles DE Victor Abiamiri is not expected to be able to practice "anytime soon" after offseason knee surgery.

The procedure was initially said to be arthroscopic in nature, but the Philadelphia Daily News suggests it might have been more invasive. Abiamiri, the 57th overall pick in 2007, has four sacks through three seasons. His roster spot is in jeopardy after the Birds drafted Brandon Graham, Daniel Te'o-Nesheim, and Ricky Sapp, and acquired Darryl Tapp via trade.

Eagles coach Andy Reid revealed that Victor Abiamiri had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee this offseason.

Abiamiri missed three games this season with the knee issue. He'll return as part of the defensive end rotation.

Eagles DE Victor Abiamiri (knee) has already been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Abiamiri hurt the knee in Week 6 and watched in Week 7 as the Birds sacked Jason Campbell six times. Chris Clemons and Jason Babin each picked up a sack in that one and will get significant reps once again.

Eagles DE Victor Abiamiri (knee) is unlikely to be available for Monday night's game against the Redskins.

Juqua Parker will pick up more snaps, with Chris Clemons and Jason Babin also in rotation. The Eagles defensive line is licking its chops for the matchup against one of the worst offensive lines in the league.

Eagles DE Victor Abiamiri is day to day with a knee sprain, according to coach Andy Reid.

Abiamiri was knocked out of the Week 6 loss to the Raiders when he got blocked by Justin Fargas. He's part of the Eagles constant rotation along the defensive line.
