The Cowboys are open to a reunion with free agent WR Laurent Robinson.
"Obviously, he played lights out and we tried to sign him last year and his price got more than we could handle under our cap,’’ executive VP Stephen Jones said. "We’ve got to look at the big picture with Laurent. He had some (concussions) that we’re going to be doing our homework on and be going from there." The Cowboys have a few options for their No. 3 receiver, but none of them are proven. Returning to the team he broke out with in 2011 would be a best-case scenario for Robinson, but it remains unclear if he'll even be cleared to play for 2013. Mar 19 - 6:57 PM

Jaguars released WR Laurent Robinson.

Signed to a five-year, $32.5 million deal a year ago, Robinson's career is now in jeopardy thanks to four 2012 concussions. Although the Jags say he passed his exit physical, that doesn't mean he's been cleared to play again. As recently as a month ago, Robinson was still experiencing headaches and other concussion-related symptoms. He added that he felt light-headed during a workout Tuesday. Robinson wants to play again, but we fear this is headed down the Jahvid Best path.

Jaguars GM David Caldwell says it's his "understanding" that Laurent Robinson (concussions) has been medically cleared, and is a "full go."

Robinson was batting "severe headaches" as recently as three weeks ago, so it's surprising news. The Florida Times Union reported on February 2 that Robinson was facing "serious obstacles" in his comeback attempt, and "might call it quits" if he suffered another head injury. Perhaps last year's foolishly large investment in Robinson played a part in the Jags suddenly deeming him "full go." It's hard to see Robinson's career having a happy ending.

Laurent Robinson still faces "serious obstacles" as he attempts to bounce back from four concussions suffered during the 2012 season.

"And he might call it quits" at the next sign of a problem, according to Gene Frenette of the Florida Times Union. "I said to him, 'One more concussion, and you need to be done,'" said Robinson's wife. Robinson continues to battle "severe headaches," and "prefers not to go out in daylight." He's also begun distancing himself from their baby daughter when she makes noise. "I want to continue to play [football]," said Laurent. "But I still want to live until 80 or 90 years old."

Coach Mike Mularkey admitted that he doesn't know if Laurent Robinson (IR, concussions) will play again.

Robinson has sustained four concussions in the last four months. The career of Jags LB Clint Session is likely over due to a similar string of blows to the head. "Each guy is different," Mularkey said. "Hopefully Laurent can come back from it, but I don't know. Clint hasn't yet." Robinson is owed $2.6 million in base salary in 2013.

Jaguars placed Laurent Robinson (concussions) on injured reserve, ending his season.

The Jags foolishly gave Robinson a five-year, $32.5 million contract in free agency. He ended up sustaining four concussions in four months, falling behind Cecil Shorts on the depth chart and catching 24 balls with no touchdowns in seven games. The Jags are moving forward with a two-wide set featuring Shorts and Justin Blackmon as their base.

Laurent Robinson was held without a catch in Week 11 against the Texans.

Robinson was targeted just two times on the afternoon and didn't have his name called until late in the fourth quarter. He was squarely behind Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts in the passing game and was no more than the fourth or fifth option. After catching 15 passes in the last two weeks, Robinson put up a dud in Week 11. He's not on the 10-12 team fantasy league radar.

Laurent Robinson played on 57-of-70 offensive snaps in the Jaguars' Week 10 loss to the Colts.

Robinson was the No. 3 wideout behind starters Justin Blackmon and Cecil Shorts, who each played on 69 snaps. But the Jags are running three-wide sets as their base now and Robinson led the team in targets with 15. Regardless, the entire Jags passing game is going to be a weak play in Week 11 as they square off with the Texans' dominant defense in Houston.

Laurent Robinson caught nine passes for 77 yards in the Jaguars' Week 10 loss to the Colts on Thursday night.

Robinson was the clear favorite target of Blaine Gabbert in the first three quarters, but once Chad Henne stepped in for the injured quarterback, Robinson lost a lot of balls to Cecil Shorts, rightfully so. Robinson doesn't bring any big-play ability to the Jacksonville offense and is merely a short attack safety blanket on the outside. He'll continue to get his share of passes thrown his way but is only a PPR option in the deepest of leagues.

Jaguars free-agent bust Laurent Robinson returned from his concussions in Week 9 to operate as Jacksonville's No. 3 receiver.

He played 45 snaps, third behind Cecil Shorts' 60 and Justin Blackmon's 58. Although the Jaguars would take a significant cap hit to release Robinson after the season, it's worth noting that his "five-year, $32.5 million" contract contains no guaranteed money beyond 2012. He could be released in the winter.

Laurent Robinson caught six passes for 41 yards in Jacksonville's Week 9 loss.

Robinson returned to action after missing the majority of the past four games with a concussion. He tied for the team lead in targets at nine with rookie Justin Blackmon. Robinson started at the "Z" receiver spot with Cecil Shorts at the "X" and Blackmon in the slot. It's been a lost season for the $32.5 million man, but if he can stay healthy for the remainder of the season, it would be a good thing for the anemic passing attack.

Laurent Robinson (concussion) is listed as probable for Week 9 and will be active against the Lions.

It will be Robinson's first appearance since Week 4. The $32.5 million free-agent bust has lost his starting job to Cecil Shorts, and the Jaguars aren't planning to bench Justin Blackmon. Robinson may reemerge as a third receiver.

Laurent Robinson (concussions) is practicing in full this week.

Robinson is back to full speed, but his role is in doubt. Cecil Shorts will remain the starter at "X" receiver, leaving Robinson to battle with Justin Blackmon for reps on the other side and in the slot.

Laurent Robinson (questionable, concussion) was limited in Jaguars practice Friday.

Coach Mike Mularkey isn't ruling Robinson out for Sunday against the Packers, but acknowledged he'd only serve a "limited" role if active. We're still betting he won't play. Look for Cecil Shorts to start opposite Justin Blackmon.

Laurent Robinson (concussions) was limited in Thursday's practice.

Robinson admits he's not in game shape, so it makes sense to hold him out for one more week. Expect Cecil Shorts to start opposite Justin Blackmon at Green Bay. Shorts remains a shaky fantasy play. His long touchdown came on blown coverage last week.
