Broncos signed LB Stewart Bradley, formerly of the Cardinals, to a one-year, $1.1 million contract.
Bradley was released by Arizona two weeks ago, and Denver was his only free-agent visit. He's expected to compete with Nate Irving and, to a degree, Steven Johnson for the starting middle linebacker job. Bradley turns 30 in November, and his signing likely means Joe Mays will be released. Mar 13 - 4:22 PM

Free agent LB Stewart Bradley will visit the Broncos.

Bradley was a colossal bust in Arizona, and was just released by the team earlier this month. Denver has a hole at middle linebacker, and they might offer him a chance to compete with Nate Irving for the job.

Cardinals released ILB Stewart Bradley.

Signed to a five-year, $25 million deal after the lockout, Bradley was a mega-bust for the Cardinals, starting just one game in two seasons. He was relegated to special teams in 2012, and finishes his Cardinals tenure with only 42 tackles in 32 games. The move clears $3.5 million in cap space, but leaves behind $3 million in dead money. Going on 30, Bradley isn't going to get any guaranteed money on the open market. Finding someone to start opposite ILB Daryl Washington is a priority for Arizona.

The Cardinals could save $3.5 million in cap space by releasing ILB Stewart Bradley.

It sounds like a no-brainer, but the Cards would still be on the hook for $3 million against the cap. It's a tough decision for the new regime. Bradley fell out of favor last season, playing mostly on special teams as he fell behind Reggie Walker. The Cards desperately need to find a serviceable linebacker to line up next to beast Daryl Washington.

Cardinals ILB Stewart Bradley is entering training camp as a strict backup.

Bradley had to take a pay cut this offseason from $5 million to $2.5 million. Paris Lenon is returning as the starter opposite Daryl Washington after leading the Cardinals in defensive snaps. Sam Acho and O'Brien Schofield are entrenched at outside linebacker.

Cardinals ILB Stewart Bradley agreed to decrease his salary from $5 million to $2.5 million this season.

Injury prone but effective in four years with the Eagles, Bradley failed to adjust to Ray Horton's 3-4 defense in the desert. Bradley never beat out Paris Lenon, finishing the season with under 20 percent of Arizona's defensive snaps. With Lenon entering his age-35 season, Bradley should get another shot in camp.

Through five games, Cardinals ILB Stewart Bradley has only been on the field for 19.5 percent of the team's defensive snaps.

The Cardinals gave Bradley a $10 million signing bonus on a five-year, $25 million contract in late July. He's failed to crack the inside linebacker rotation behind Paris Lenon and Daryl Washington, managing just 14 tackles on the season. Needless to day, he's been a colossal free agent bust thus far.

Stewart Bradley will start at "Mike" linebacker Sunday with Daryl Washington (calf) inactive.

Paris Lenon kicks from "Mike" to "Will," allowing Bradley to line up in his more natural position. It's a major downgrade for the Cardinals, especially after Bradley reportedly didn't know the defense well enough to play in Week 1. If Bradley struggles, we wouldn't be surprised if Reggie Walker rotated in often.

Cardinals ILB Stewart Bradley did not play in Week 1 because he still doesn't know the defense well enough.

Coach Ken Whisenhunt praised Reggie Walker as Daryl Washington's (calf) fill-in against Carolina, while saying Bradley is still in transition mode after playing the first four seasons of his career in a 4-3 scheme with Philadelphia. Bradley may be needed more in Week 2 due to Washington's strained calf, but so far early returns aren't promising for the $25 million offseason pickup.

Stewart Bradley and Paris Lenon are still battling for a starting inside linebacker job.

Bradley certainly has the talent edge, but is trying to prove he's completely over his 2009 torn ACL among other maladies. Beat writer Kent Somers suggests that the loser of this battle will stay on the field plenty, maybe as an outside linebacker or maybe as a "wild card." The shaky Cardinals' defense needs its best players on the field even if they play the same position.

Cardinals will agree to terms with LB Stewart Bradley, formerly of the Eagles.

Bradley was considered the middle linebacker of the Eagles' future after a solid 2008 campaign, but he blew out his knee and missed the entire 2009 season. He returned for 12 games last year, but was a shell of himself and lost his job to seventh-round rookie Jamar Chaney. In Arizona, Bradley will be a major upgrade on starting ILB Paris Lenon if he can get back to his 2008 form.

The Cardinals are reportedly "close" to signing free agent LB Stewart Bradley.

Talks between Arizona and Bradley's camp picked up quickly on Thursday, and NFL Network confirmed late last night that the Cards were "making a push" to close the deal. Bradley would be a likely starter in new DC Ray Horton's defense, at the very least pushing underwhelming ILB Paris Lenon hard for snaps.

The Cardinals are reportedly "making a push" for free agent LB Stewart Bradley.

The Arizona Republic reported the Cards' interest earlier in the day, so this looks legit. Though Bradley has never played in a 3-4 scheme before, he's a talent upgrade on Paris Lenon. Not a pass rusher, the 27-year-old would play inside linebacker in Arizona's scheme. The Rams and Bills have also inquired.

The Cardinals are interested in free agent Stewart Bradley, according to the Arizona Republic.

Bradley is generating plenty of interest around the league despite losing his job to Jamar Chaney last season. That's because Bradley has starting experience and can play multiple positions. The Rams and Bills are also reportedly in the mix.
Thu, Jul 28, 2011 01:21:00 PM

The Rams have expressed "more than passing interest" in free agent SLB/MLB Stewart Bradley.

The same can be said of Zac Diles, Scott Shanle, and Ben Leber, but none of those three linebackers has as much potential as Bradley. The former third-round pick and Eagles starting middle linebacker can also play the strong side, where he'd likely slot in with St. Louis. He's an impact player at age 27.
