Seahawks waived/injured WR Isaiah Stanback.

He'll go on injured reserve after clearing waivers. Stanback, who tore his Achilles' tendon on Saturday, has five receptions through three seasons in the NFL. The converted quarterback doesn't have a future in the league.

Isaiah Stanback - TE - Jaguars

Seahawks WR/QB Isaiah Stanback was carted off the field Saturday with what was later diagnosed as a torn Achilles' tendon.

The snakebitten Stanback was trying to turn his career around with his hometown team after spending most of last season on the Pats' practice squad. After starting his career with shin splints and a foot injury back in 2007, Stanback has now sustained multiple shoulder injuries and a meniscus tear in his knee in addition to the torn Achilles'. The once-promising combo prospect's career is now in jeopardy.

Seahawks claimed WR/QB Isaiah Stanback off waivers from the Patriots.

Stanback alternated between quarterback and receiver with the Pats last year. The Seahawks will likely keep him at the latter, but he'll have to make up ground on the team's other reclamation projects to land a spot on the roster.

Stanback worked as the Patriots No. 3 quarterback while on the practice squad for much of last season. He has never shown much as a receiver during his career and there's not much reason to think he ever will.

Patriots declared third QB Isaiah Stanback, CB Terrence Wheatley, RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis, LB Thomas Williams, OL Rich Ohrnberger, OL Dan Connolly, T Mark LeVoir and DL Ron Brace inactive for Sunday's Wild Card game against the Ravens.

No surprises here. Julian Edelman steps in for Wes Welker (knee) on a very chilly day in Foxboro. Vince Wilfork and Ty Warren are good to go, as expected.

Patriots practice squad QB Isaiah Stanback has been working as a wide receiver in portions of practice open to the media this week.

He showed promise as a receiver in Dallas but could never stay healthy. With Joey Galloway released and Julian Edelman (arm) sidelined, Stanback could be activated for this week's game in London.

Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio said Tuesday that Isaiah Stanback is the team's No. 3 QB.

It's interesting considering Stanback was playing receiver for the Cowboys five days ago. Stanback is on New England's practice squad and will play behind Brian Hoyer and Tom Brady. He is obviously a project, but Stanback did have a solid career as a mobile quarterback at the University of Washington.

NFL.com's Jason La Canfora notes that the 2007 fourth-round pick got "lots" of offers from other teams, but the Pats were the only one willing to let him play QB, his college position. Stanback was tried at wideout in Dallas.

Isaiah Stanback needs to start producing in these last preseason games to save his job as the Cowboys fifth receiver.

Stanback has finished camp strong after missing a chunk of practices with a hamstring injury, but he'll have to do it in games to hold off undrafted rookie Kevin Ogletree. Stanback's done nothing to this point in his career.

Cowboys WR/KR Isaiah Stanback is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee.

Stanback, who had shoulder surgery earlier this offseason, has been highly injury prone since entering the league with a Lisfranc fracture, then suffering shin splints in his first training camp. The Cowboys might think about cutting ties if they had any semblance of depth at wide receiver.
