Bills TE Scott Chandler (torn ACL) is participating in minicamp.
Chandler is almost certainly limited to individual drills, but it's another positive step in his impressive recovery. Just like Adrian Peterson in 2011, Chandler tore up his knee in Week 16. It's looking more realistic that the red-zone threat will be ready for Week 1. Jun 11 - 3:09 PM

Per ESPN Boston, "all signs point to" Bills TE Scott Chandler (ACL surgery) being ready for Week 1.

Patriots beat writer Mike Reiss offers up no scoops on Chandler, who began running routes three weeks ago, but the recent word suggests the lumbering tight end could be ready to suit up for the opener against New England. Chandler tore his ACL in December. He expects to be ready for training camp.

BuffaloBills.com reports that TE Scott Chandler (ACL surgery) is likely to be a participant in practice right from the start of training camp.

Chandler tore his ACL in Week 16 last season, and it's five months to the day since he underwent surgery. On Thursday, following the team's OTA practice, Chandler was on the field running routes and catching passes. The soon-to-be 29-year-old says he "feels good," and thinks it's "realistic" to be ready for camp. We're skeptical, but it certainly sounds like Chandler might be ready for Week 1.

Bills TE Scott Chandler (ACL surgery) thinks it's "realistic" that he can be ready for training camp.

"I feel it's realistic," Chandler said. "I feel good, and I'm excited for the season. The injury is different than it used to be. The doctors are better." Chandler tore his ACL in Week 16 last season and underwent surgery just over four months ago. He isn't participating in drills at OTAs, but he is catching passes and running on the side. We doubt Chandler will be ready for Week 1.
May 23 - 2:54 PM

Bills TE Scott Chandler is sitting out full-squad OTAs while continuing to rehab his torn left ACL.

Chandler suffered the injury on December 23 and his training camp status is in question. The 28-year-old's role in new coach Doug Marrone's offense is also uncertain, although Buffalo did little to upgrade tight end other than draft Chris Gragg in the seventh round. Chandler's 2013 fantasy outlook is bleak.

Bills GM Buddy Nix considers tight end a position of need.

Tight end would have been a need even before Scott Chandler tore his ACL, but became a bigger issue after Chandler went down in Week 16. Chandler is doubtful to be ready for Week 1, and is a strong candidate for the reserve/PUP list. Chandler is a workmanlike player with a nose for the end zone, but was already limited athletically before tearing up his knee. Due $2.35 million between salary and bonuses, his roster spot isn't assured.
Feb 12 - 7:45 PM

Scott Chandler will have his ACL surgery Thursday.

Chandler waited nearly three weeks after his injury to go under the knife, but doesn't sound too concerned. "It's a pretty straightforward ACL from what I understand," he said. Chandler will be in a race to get ready for camp so he can make an impression on Doug Marrone's new regime -- assuming the Bills don't release him as a cap casualty.
Jan 10 - 8:17 AM

Bills TE Scott Chandler will undergo surgery to repair his torn ACL next week.

Coming off major knee surgery and losing Chan Gailey, who turned his career around in Buffalo's spread offense, Chandler's future is murky with an offseason roster bonus of $300,000 coming due. He's also owed a $2.05 million salary. He tore the ACL on December 23 and will be questionable for training camp.

Bills placed TE Scott Chandler on injured reserve with a torn ACL, ending his season.

It's an unfortunate blow for a player who has worked hard to emerge the past two seasons. Already limited athletically, Chandler may not be the same after a major knee injury. Seven months shy of his 28th birthday, Chandler will finish 2012 with a 43/571/6 line, and has 12 touchdowns in 29 games going back to last season. He's signed for $2.05 million in 2013, and should be back with the Bills. However, if he suits up at all, he'll likely begin the year on the PUP list.

Scott Chandler will undergo a Monday MRI on his knee, and the Bills are concerned his injury is severe.

"Scott doesn’t look good at all," said coach Chan Gailey. "It’s a knee. I saw him in the locker room on crutches." Chandler is almost certainly out for Week 17, and he may be facing an offseason of rehab pending the MRI results.

Scott Chandler suffered a knee injury in Sunday's game against the Dolphins and will not return.

Chandler was injured on a 25-yard catch on the second play of the game and immediately ruled out. The exact severity isn't known, but considering it's a knee injury this is likely a season ender. The Bills will be forced to finish Sunday's game with Lee Smith as their starting tight end.

Although he remained limited in Friday's practice, Scott Chandler (foot) is officially probable for Week 16.

The touchdown-dependent fantasy option has found the end zone just twice since Week 4. You can hopefully do better for championship week.

Scott Chandler (foot) returned for Thursday's practice.

He was officially limited, which puts him on track to play versus the Dolphins this week. Chandler is 19th in Rotoworld's Week 16 tight end rankings.

Scott Chandler (groin) was absent from Bills practice Wednesday.

Chandler was limited last Wednesday before ultimately being listed as probable and starting against the Seahawks in Toronto. However, QB Ryan Fitzpatrick did allow afterward that Chandler was "fighting through some things." Consider Chandler an even shakier than usual TE2 for the fantasy finals.
Wed, Dec 19, 2012 02:28:00 PM

Scott Chandler caught five passes for 58 yards in the Bills' Week 15 loss to the Seahawks.

With Donald Jones sidelined and T.J. Graham contracting a case of the dropsies, Chandler continues to operate as Ryan Fitzpatrick's No. 2 option. He has 10 catches for 129 yards in the last two weeks, leaving him as a mid-range TE2 against the Dolphins in Week 16.
