Scott Chandler nabbed three catches for 23 yards in the Patriots’ Week 2 win over the Bills.
Tom Brady looked Chandler’s way twice in a row on the goal line but couldn’t connect. The Pats utilized two and three-tight end sets throughout the game but Chandler was rarely the intended receiver. Even against a lackluster Jacksonville team in Week 3, it’s tough to endorse Chandler as a legit fantasy option. Sep 20 - 5:47 PM

Scott Chandler caught his lone target for a one-yard touchdown in New England's Week 1 win over the Steelers.

That's efficiency. Per Pro Football Focus' Nathan Jahnke, Chandler played 27 snaps on a night where the Pats flashed multiple four-tight end looks. Chandler won't be more than a boom-or-bust TE2 this season, but with the Pats so thin at wideout, it stands to reason he's going to average more than one target.

ESPN's Sal Paolantonio reports the Patriots plan to go heavy on two-tight end sets in Thursday's opener.

The Pats essentially aren't going to have a running game in the absence of LeGarrette Blount (suspended), so they'll run Scott Chandler out with Rob Gronkowski as much as possible. Chandler isn't a viable play in re-draft leagues, but is an intriguing dart throw in DFS tournaments.

NESN's Doug Kyed expects Patriots TE Scott Chandler to have a "big role in the offense" while Brandon LaFell (foot/PUP) is sidelined.

Tim Wright last season was just the latest in a long line of tight ends who were going to recreate what Aaron Hernandez accomplished on the field in 2011. Like all the rest, Wright failed to live up to that promise, but Chandler could be different. With LaFell sidelined, the Patriots are lacking big pass catchers outside. Chandler could pick up some of that slack. He could be worth an add in deeper leagues depending on how big a role he plays Thursday night.

Scott Chandler caught three balls for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' third preseason game.

With Rob Gronkowski resting, Chandler parlayed his first-team work into an 18-yard touchdown in the second quarter on a fade ball from Tom Brady. Beat writers on Twitter immediately noted the Brady-to-Chandler end-zone fade has been a staple in Patriots practices. Chandler will be a low-volume red-zone threat in the Pats' offense this year, and a low-end TE1 if Gronk goes down.

Scott Chandler (undisclosed) will not play in Thursday’s preseason opener.

Chandler hasn’t practiced in the last four days. This Patriots team is unlikely to provide any updates on his status. Michael Hoomanawanui will replace Chandler in two tight end sets.
Aug 12 - 5:55 PM

Patriots signed TE Scott Chandler to a two-year, $5.3 million contract.

It's back to the drawing board for the Ravens, who were hoping Chandler would fill their vacancy at tight end. After losing to the Patriots so many times over the years, Chandler figured if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Chandler's ceiling isn't particularly high, but Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels are crafty enough play callers to carve out a role for him. Chandler will not be a reliable week-to-week fantasy factor in New England barring injury to Rob Gronkowski.
Mar 13 - 1:09 PM

Free agent TE Scott Chandler will sign with either the Ravens or Patriots.

Chandler wouldn't expect to get much playing time in New England behind Rob Gronkowski and Tim Wright. Dennis Pitta has held the Ravens hostage with injuries, so the need for a tight end is far greater in Baltimore. Chandler was dumped by the Bills, possibly in anticipation of landing Charles Clay.
Mar 13 - 12:13 PM

The Ravens are showing interest in free agent TE Scott Chandler.

The tight end market is shrinking now that Julius Thomas and Owen Daniels have signed with new teams. Charles Clay and Jordan Cameron don't appear to be options for Baltimore either. Chandler is an average athlete, but he's at least a big body Joe Flacco can look for around the red zone. Dennis Pitta's uncertain status has made the Ravens especially desperate to find a tight end.
Mar 12 - 10:43 AM

ESPN's Jamison Hensley expects the Ravens to have interest in free agent TE Scott Chandler.

With Dennis Pitta's 2015 status up in the air, Chandler would give the Ravens a fallback option at tight end. Entering his age-30 season, Chandler may be limited to one-year deals on the open market.
Mar 11 - 5:44 PM

Bills released TE Scott Chandler.

The move creates $2.25 million in cap space, and is further evidence that the Bills are serious about their pursuit of Dolphins transition player Charles Clay. Chandler spent the past five years in Buffalo, averaging 45 catches over the past four seasons. Chandler is a competent blocker, but lost some of his already-limited athleticism following his 2012 ACL tear. Going on 30, he'll be limited to 1-2 year offers in free agency.
Mar 11 - 5:02 PM

Scott Chandler caught one pass for 20 yards Week 17 against the Patriots.

Normally a Patriots killer, Chandler was held in check as the Bills sat on the lead in the second half. Chandler took a step back in 2014, finishing with 47 catches for 497 yards and three touchdowns after cracking the 650-yard mark in 2013. Just finishing the first year of a two-year deal, Chandler will almost certainly be the Bills starting tight end in 2015.

Scott Chandler caught four passes for 37 yards and one touchdown in the Bills' Week 16 win over the Raiders.

He was targeted six times on the day. On his touchdown, Chandler beat LB Ray-Ray Armstrong, who fell down on the play. It was Chandler's first end-zone visit since Week 12 and just his third score of the season. Chandler and the Bills head to New England to wrap up the season in Week 17.

Scott Chandler secured 2-of-2 targets for 22 yards in the Bills' Week 15 win over the Packers.

He appeared to share time with Lee Smith and MarQueis Gray. Chandler has had a couple of decent box-score lines this season, but is always nothing more than a desperate TE1 streamer. He'll be a TE2 in Week 16 at Oakland.
Sun, Dec 14, 2014 04:43:00 PM

Scott Chandler caught eight passes for 81 yards in Sunday's Week 14 loss at Denver.

Chandler also had a touchdown called back when he was flagged for offensive pass interference. Regardless, just about all of his production came in garbage time as the Broncos played a soft zone after getting out to a 21-3 third-quarter lead. Don't go chasing Chandler's stats against the Packers in Week 15 -- he had a total of 10 catches in the previous five games.
