Nick Folk's one-year contract with the Bucs includes $750,000 fully guaranteed.
The deal is worth $1.75 million in total. Thought to be camp competition for failed 2016 second-rounder Roberto Aguayo when he originally signed, this deal suggests Folk is at least even odds to win the kicking competition. Aguayo has $428,000 guaranteed left on his deal. Mar 21 - 12:22 PM

Bucs signed K Nick Folk, formerly of the Jets.

The Bucs promised to bring in competition for 2016 second-rounder Roberto Aguayo, and Folk certainly fits the bill. A 10-year vet with a career 81.3% conversion rate, Folk should put pressure on the sophomore if Tampa holds a real competition. Aguayo converted 22-of-31 attempts (70.9%) as a rookie.

Jets released K Nick Folk.

The move creates $3 million in cap space. Now 32, Folk had been the Jets' kicker since 2010. Folk converted 27-of-31 field goals last season, though he did shank two extra points. Folk was effective enough to keep his job, but the rebuilding Jets would rather save money. Folk will likely be kicking somewhere in 2017.
Feb 23 - 3:58 PM

Jets placed K Nick Folk on injured reserve with a quadriceps injury, ending his season.

Ex-Texan Randy Bullock will handle kicking duties for the rest of the season. Inaccurate earlier in his career, Folk has gotten steadier through the years, converting at least 80 percent of his field goals in each of the past three seasons. Still only 31 and signed through 2017, he should be back with Gang Green in 2016.

Jets coach Todd Bowles revealed Monday that K Nick Folk is dealing with a 4-6 week quad injury.

He may have to go on injured reserve. Folk's quad "popped" in pre-game warmups ahead of Sunday's win over the Jaguars. Facing the Bills on Thursday, look for the Jets to sign a new kicker by no later than Tuesday afternoon.

Jets K Nick Folk (quad) is expected to miss Thursday's game against the Bills.

Folk will probably be headed to injured reserve if he has to miss more than 1-2 games. He's obviously not worth holding onto in fantasy leagues. His replacement will be signed off the street.

Jets K Nick Folk "felt a little pop" in his quad muscle while practicing a kickoff ahead of Sunday's win over the Jaguars.

The injury occurred roughly an hour before game time. "I couldn't make an extra point," Folk said. "I tried pregame, I just couldn't get any power into it." The Jets were forced to use P Ryan Quigley on extra points, and went for two after their touchdowns. Folk's Week 10 status is uncertain.

Jets K Nick Folk has a right quad injury and will not be available to kick field goals Sunday against the Jaguars.

Instead Folk will hold for punter/emergency kicker Ryan Quigley. The Jets went for it on fourth and three at the 25-yard line. That would suggest they're not comfortable using Quigley unless it's a very short field goal attempt. It's unclear when Folk suffered his injury but obviously he won't be of any use to fantasy owners on Sunday.

Jets restructured the contract of K Nick Folk.

New York converted $1.78 million of Folk's $2.5 million base salary into a signing bonus. The move creates $1.19 million in cap space for 2015.

Jets K Nick Folk (hip) is active for Week 14.

Folk will play through his hip-flexor, but was missing 53-yard attempts in pre-game warmups and has struggled the last three weeks. He isn't a recommended Week 14 fantasy option.

Jets K Nick Folk (hip) is expected to be fine for Sunday's game in Minnesota.

It's good news for the Jets, but with Folk struggling of late and heading into an outdoor road game, he's not a recommended option for the first week of the fantasy playoffs.

Jets K Nick Folk is dealing with a hip-flexor injury.

Folk shanked two field goals in Monday's three-point loss, and has missed three kicks in the past three weeks. He should be considered uncertain for Week 14.

Jets signed franchise player K Nick Folk to a multi-year contract extension.

According to ESPN New York, the deal is worth "at least" $3 million per season. Folk would have earned $3.556 million under the franchise tag. Folk's accuracy has come and gone during his career, but he drained 33-of-36 field-goal attempts in 2013. He owns a career 80.3 conversion rate.

Jets assigned the franchise tag to K Nick Folk.

It's the non-exclusive tag. The Jets cleared a ton of salary cap room under first-year GM John Idzik in 2013, impressively and quickly cleansing themselves of the Mike Tannenbaum era. Thus, they're able to commit roughly $3.5 million in cap space to Folk, who banged home 33-of-36 field goal tries last season. The sides will likely now work on a long-term agreement. Folk turned 29 in November.

Free agent K Nick Folk wants to re-sign with the Jets but is going to keep "all the options open."

Folk is coming off a career-year that saw him nail 33-of-36 field goals. He made it clear following the season that he eyes a multi-year deal. The 29-year-old expects to engage in contract talks with the Jets near the end of the month.
