Free agent WR Jordan Kent is hoping for another shot in the NFL once the lockout ends.
A three-sport athlete at Oregon in football, basketball, and track and field, Kent has stayed in shape this offseason by training for and winning a 400-meters race in May. If he fails to land a roster spot, Kent can fall back on his new career as president and CEO of Edge Combines, a touring football camp for high school students. Sun, Jul 10, 2011 01:21:00 PM

Rams waived WR Jordan Kent, C Tim Mattran, S Brett Johnson, and TE Darcy Johnson.

Kent showed well on special teams in camp, but his lack of offensive value for a team so short on true wide receivers cost him a spot. The Rams would probably like to keep Kent on the practice squad. Darcy Johnson, a former Giant, was outplayed by Billy Bajema and late-round rookies in camp.

Rams WR Jordan Kent is firmly in the mix for a roster spot, according to Bill Coats of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The Rams have 10 receivers in camp competing for five or six spots and Kent is raising eyebrows. It's not that surprising considering the former Seahawk has tons of athletic upside and contributes on special teams.

Rams re-signed exclusive rights free agent WR Jordan Kent to a one-year contract.

Kent, a college basketball player, has just one regular season catch since being drafted in the 2007 sixth round. He's unlikely to help the Rams on offense this year, but could contribute on special teams if he makes the club.

Rams declared WR Jordan Kent, CB Danny Gorrer, third QB Keith Null, LB Dominic Douglas, OG Roger Allen III, OT Phil Trautwein, OG Richie Incognito, and DL C.J. Ah You inactive for Week 11.

Ah You, who's headed for I.R., and Incognito are the only players injured here. Incognito has been out for several weeks, but has not been missed.

Rams signed WR Jordan Kent, formerly of the Seahawks.

A freakish athlete with raw receiving skills, Kent has experience in a West Coast offense from his time with Mike Holmgren. He's a long shot for fantasy value, but Dynasty leaguers should monitor his progress with the Rams.

The Rams worked out free agent WR Jordan Kent late last week.

St. Louis isn't getting any production from its wideouts, and Kent has an idea of the system having played in West Coast offenses with Mike Holmgren for the Seahawks. Kent is scheduled to work out for the Buccaneers this week.

Seahawks waived WR Jordan Kent with an injury settlement.

Kent was a former track star at Oregon. He's talented enough to get another shot down the line.

Seahawks promoted WR Jordan Kent from their practice squad.

The raw but highly athletic Kent will take over as the team's No. 5 receiver. He has no fantasy value for this season, but Dynasty leaguers should monitor his progress.

Seahawks signed WR Jordan Kent to their practice squad.

Kent seems likely to get a promotion, by possibly as soon as Week 3.

Seahawks waived WR Jordan Kent.

He was the rawest of the Seahawks wideouts who made the final roster, and apparently didn't look ready for the real thing in Week 1. Kent failed to haul in all five of his targets and is likely headed to the practice squad.

Jordan Kent caught four passes for 47 yards and a touchdown against San Diego in Seattle's third exhibition game.

Kent has been the Seahawks' most productive preseason receiver, leading the team with nine total grabs for 115 yards and two scores. He's raw, but could be pushing Nate Burleson for snaps at split end by midseason.

Jordan Kent is fully expected to make the Seahawks' final roster.

The Hawks spoke of trying to get Kent onto the practice squad this year, but he's probably opened too many eyes with his preseason production and upside to clear waivers. Kent will back up Nate Burleson this season.

Seahawks young WRs Jordan Kent, Ben Obomanu, and Logan Payne all had impressive scrimmages yesterday.

To sum up: Kent is a ridiculously freakish athlete, though extremely underdeveloped as a football player. Obomanu, a downfield playmaker with questionable route running, is currently the team's No. 3 while future flanker Courtney Taylor is injured once again. Logan Payne is a fundamentally sound staff favorite.

Seahawks offensive coordinator Gil Haskell believes second-year split end Jordan Kent needs another season on the practice squad.

Among Seattle's current wideouts, Kent has shown unrivaled vertical skills in offseason workouts. But he began playing the game late in life and is raw. Kent could still eek out a roster spot if the Seahawks keep six wide receivers.
