Redskins signed CB David Jones and waived/injured CB Chase Minnifield.

A 2007 fifth-round pick, Jones has appeared in 93 games as a reserve and special teamer with the Bengals and Jaguars. Signs point to a setback for Minnifield, who impressed in June minicamp after offseason microfracture surgery.

Jaguars re-signed CB David Jones.

Jones was released with an injury settlement in early September. The former fifth-round pick appeared in all 16 games for the Jaguars a season ago, starting five. In 49 career contests, he's tallied 89 tackles and one pick. With William Middleton joining Rashean Mathis and Derek Cox on I.R. Saturday, Jones should see plenty of snaps.

Jaguars released CB David Jones (undisclosed) with an injury settlement.

The move makes the fifth-year corner a free agent. Jones appeared in all 16 games last season, but struggled in coverage. He was used sparingly in the second half of the year. If he latches on somewhere, it will be as a special teamer.

Jaguars placed CB David Jones (undisclosed) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Jones appeared in all 16 games for the Jaguars a season ago, registering 33 tackles and one interception. However, he was also revealed to be a nightmare in coverage, and might have been cut had he not been placed on injured reserve.

Jaguars re-signed CBs David Jones and Tyron Brackenridge.

Jones was badly exposed in coverage early last season when he took over for starter Derek Cox. He played just three snaps in the second-half of the season. Brackenridge played just six games as a special teamer in 2010. Neither player will be guaranteed a roster spot.

David Jones is "entrenched" in the starting RCB job, according to the Florida Times Union.

This is after Jones was burned by Reggie Wayne for 15 catches in Week 4. Former starter Derek Cox came on for one play when Jones was shaken up, but Jones returned on the very next play. Both players are liabilities.

Jaguars acquired CB David Jones for the Bengals in exchange for S Reggie Nelson.

The Bengals no longer had a need for their primary nickel back after adding Pacman Jones to fill the role. Jones will vie for the same role in Jacksonville.

Bengals re-signed restricted free agent CB David Jones to a one-year, $1.101 million contract.

Jones, 24, served as Cincinnati's primary nickel back in 2008 before breaking his foot last year and falling out of the rotation. He may be able to earn the job back in training camp, but will have to beat out Morgan Trent, Mike Mickens, and perhaps a mid-round pick the club uses on a corner.

Bengals extended a low tender offer to restricted free agent CB David Jones.

Jones would only bring back a fifth-rounder as compensation, but he's not going anywhere in free agency. He's slated to earn $1.101 million this season.

Bengals nickel back David Jones (foot surgery) is out for Week 1 and still has no timetable for return.

Next up in the nickel is late-round rookie Morgan Trent, who wasn't even any good at Michigan. The Bengals will struggle to cover slot receivers early in the season. They get Brandon Stokley and James Jones in the first two games.

Bengals CB David Jones is out 4-6 weeks after undergoing surgery on his foot Thursday.

The surgery will likely sideline Jones into the regular season, leaving the Bengals scrambling for a nickel back. Expect them to start scanning the free agent list.

Bengals CB David Jones will get a second opinion on his injured foot.

It sounds like he's considering surgery. If so, the Bengals will be on the lookout for free agent cornerbacks. It was already their thinnest position.

Bengals CB David Jones will be sidelined indefinitely after injuring his foot in practice.

The Bengals' website guesses that Jones could be out anywhere from "2 to 8 weeks." Jones is in a protective boot, and may have sprained the foot. This wouldn't be a small loss, as he is Cincinnati's top nickel back candidate.
