Titans placed DT Antonio Johnson on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.

Johnson was recovering from a knee scope, but evidently not quickly enough. Going on 30, he could eventually be cut loose with an injury settlement.

Titans DT Antonio Johnson is recovering from a knee scope, and is week to week.

Johnson appeared in all 16 games last season, making six starts. He notched 22 tackles and three sacks across 386 snaps. Provided he can avoid setbacks, Johnson should be ready to rock as a rotational lineman for Week 1.

Titans re-signed DT Antonio Johnson to a two-year contract.

A six-year veteran and former starter for the Colts, Johnson appeared in all 16 games last season. He made six starts, playing 386 total snaps. Johnson will be a reserve along new DC Ray Horton's hybrid 3-4 front.

The Titans are in contract talks with free agent DT Antonio Johnson.

Johnson is apparently a player new DC Ray Horton has pinpointed as a fit for his scheme. Johnson goes 6-foot-3, 328 and would likely return as a backup nose tackle or five technique. The former Colt turned 29 years old in December.

Titans signed DT Antonio Johnson and waived/failed physical LB Tom Wort.

Wort was signed as an undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma. Johnson, who signed a one-year deal, started 13 games for the division rival Colts last season, making 26 tackles without a sack. He was Pro Football Focus' 80th-rated defensive tackle out of 85, particularly struggling in run defense.

Free agent DT Antonio Johnson visited the Titans on Tuesday.

It's Johnson's second visit of free agency. Johnson started 13 games for the Colts last season, but would ideally be a reserve along the Titans' retooled defensive line.

Free agent DT Antonio Johnson visited the Chargers.

Johnson started 13 games for the Colts last season, but won't be back after they revamped their defensive line. He graded out as the sixth-worst defensive tackle in Pro Football Focus' ratings, and ideally wouldn't be a starter for the Bolts.

Antonio Johnson opened offseason practices as the Colts' starting nose tackle, with Brandon McKinney as the backup.

Cory Redding opened as the starting left end, with Drake Nevis on the opposite side. Fili Moala, a 2009 second-rounder, is stuck in a backup role in new coach Chuck Pagano's 3-4 scheme. Robert Mathis moved from strong-side linebacker back to his old left-end home in nickel packages. Like Terrell Suggs in Baltimore, Dwight Freeney will be the full-time right end once he reports.

Colts re-signed DTs Antonio Johnson and Eric Foster, OT Michael Toudouze, and OG Kyle DeVan.

They also claimed tight end Tyson DeVree off waivers from Cleveland. Johnson, a 26-year-old rotational reserve, will push for significant snaps this season. Foster is a lightweight former Rutgers Scarlet Knight. Toudouze is a journeyman tackle, and DeVan is the Colts' probable starting left guard.

Colts DT Antonio Johnson is out indefinitely after undergoing surgery on his knee.

The Colts announced the injury, but they didn't disclose the severity not a timetable for Johnson's return. The athletic 310-pounder had been limited to a rotational role of late with Fili Moala picking up more snaps.

Colts re-signed restricted free agent DT Antonio Johnson to a one-year, $1.684 million contract.

Johnson will earn the same salary as Daniel Muir, the other starter at defensive tackle. Highly athletic for a 310-pounder, Johnson will have to improve his consistency as a run defender to hold onto his starting job throughout 2010.

Antonio Johnson and Ed Johnson are on track to enter the season as the Colts' starting defensive tackles.

Neither has a big track record, but there's finally some size on this line (Ed is 6'2/296; Antonio is 6'3/310). How Tony Dungy thought he'd stop the run with 250-pounders Keyunta Dawson and Eric Foster last year is beyond us. The wider bodies should free up Gary Brackett to make more plays on the run.

Colts signed DT Antonio Johnson off the Titans practice squad.

Johnson adds size to an undersized defensive front in Indianapolis.

Titans DL Antonio Johnson will undergo season-ending surgery on a torn ACL.

More bad news for the Tennessee defense. The team hopes Johnson, a high motor fifth-round pick, will be ready for next year's training camp.
