Titans placed LB Jamie Winborn (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending his season.

The move clears room for Randy Moss to join the 53. Winborn, 31, appeared in six games this season, earning a couple of starts and recording 12 tackles. He was no longer needed with Gerald McRath back up to full speed.

Titans released LB Jamie Winborn.

Winborn gets dropped so the team can activate LB Gerald McRath from the Reserve/Suspended list. The ten-year veteran will probably get scooped up by a team lacking linebacker depth, though his days as a starter are likely over.

Titans signed LB Jamie Winborn, formerly of the Texans.

With Keith Bulluck and David Thornton now on season-ending injured reserve, the Titans signed the nine-year vet to help fill in. Winborn had a nine-day stint with the Texans in October and spent training camp with the Falcons.

Winborn was on the roster for just one game, and didn't play against San Francisco. He's versatile and should resurface before the season is over.

Texans signed LB Jamie Winborn.

Winborn, a nine-year veteran, was last with the Falcons in training camp and started 11 games for the Broncos in 2008. He's no threat to any of the Texans' starting linebackers.

The player rep for veteran LB Jamie Winborn denies, through Profootballtalk.com, that his client has signed with the Falcons.

"Jamie Winborn has not signed with the Falcons and is still available," the agent said Friday. Scout.com had reported Thursday that the sides agreed to terms, but it looks like the deal fell apart at the last minute.

The player rep for free agent LB Jamie Winborn claims that five teams are showing interest in his client.

Winborn, 30, ranked among the top 30 tacklers in the league last year with a career-high 99 stops. This further proves that the statistic means little.

The Titans hosted free agent OLB Jamie Winborn on Tuesday.

He's being looked at for depth and possibly special teams help. Winborn, 30, would pose no threat to David Thornton or Keith Bulluck's starting jobs.

Broncos released LB Jamie Winborn.

Winborn can still play special teams and OLB in a pinch, but he wasn't worth a $1.7 million base salary. He'll likely catch on as a backup elsewhere.

The Broncos have improved their run defense by 32.6 yards per game over the past six weeks.

They've switched back to a 4-3 alignment after struggling to learn the 3-4 early in the season. The 122 yards allowed per game over the past six weeks isn't spectacular, but it's a significant improvement.

Jamie Winborn will take over as the Broncos' starting strong-side linebacker with Boss Bailey on injured reserve.

Bailey was surprisingly productive for a SAM 'backer in seven games, racking up 40 stops (31 solo). Denver is run on enough that most of its defenders are IDP worthy. Winborn will also blitz a decent amount in the team's 3-4 looks.
