Lions released OG Manny Ramirez.

Ramirez was a guilty party on a disastrous Lions offensive line from 2007-2009 before moving to a bench role this season. His release leaves only Calvin Johnson and Drew Stanton from the Lions' 2007 draft haul.

Lions OG Manny Ramirez is "down to his last chance," according to beat writer Tom Kowalski.

Ramirez is no longer competing for a starting gig with Rob Sims in town -- he's just trying to make the team. Kowalski speculates that the Lions may go with someone younger if Ramirez continues to show mental breakdowns in training camp.

Lions re-signed restricted free agent OG Manny Ramirez to a one-year, $1.101 million contract.

Ramirez was tendered at the original pick level, despite starting 12 games last year. He'd ideally be a backup as Detroit tries to improve its wretched offensive line and keep Matthew Stafford's head attached to his shoulders.

The Lions have assigned an original pick tender to restricted free agent OG Manuel Ramirez.

Ramirez, originally a fourth-round pick, started 12 games last season, mostly at left guard. He was one of the weaker members of Detroit's offensive line.

Lions G Manny Ramirez, a fourth-round pick in 2007, is in danger of losing his roster spot this summer.

The Lions picked up Daniel Loper, Jon Jansen, Ephraim Salaam and Toniu Fonoti this offseason, and Ramirez hasn't taken well to his backup center experiment. The new staff wants versatility in their backups, so Ramirez is on the way out.

Lions signed G Manuel Ramirez to a three-year contract.

The fourth-round pick is a project out of Texas Tech. At 337 pounds, he was one of the strongest players in the draft and could develop into a mauler despite focusing on pass protection in Mike Leach's spread. Ramirez will provide depth as a rookie and could eventually replace Damien Woody.
