Colts agreed to terms with OG Josh Beekman, formerly of the Bears.

The Colts have 2010 fourth-rounder Jacques McClendon penciled in as the starting left guard. Beekman has 20 starts under his belt in three seasons, so he offers veteran insurance. We wouldn't expect much, though. He was relegated to the UFL for the 2010 season.

The Giants worked out free agent G/C Josh Beekman on Saturday.

Beekman played college ball at Boston College, where Giants assistant OL coach Pat Flaherty was on staff before his current gig. The Giants may bring Beekman into camp over the next few days. He was in the UFL last season.

The Seahawks will reportedly work out free agent OG Josh Beekman next Tuesday.

The Texans have also expressed interest in Beekman, who has started off and on for the Bears over the past two seasons. Seattle's biggest need right now is at tackle, however, as opposed to guard.

Bears waived OG Josh Beekman.

Beekman has been an adequate run blocker the past couple of seasons, but he's never managed to keep a firm grip on a starting job. The emergence of Johan Asiata and Lance Louis left him without a roster spot in Chicago.

Bears beat writer Dan Pompei expects Josh Beekman to slide back to left guard this season.

Chris Williams is likely to be the left tackle, with Frank Omiyale and Kevin Shaffer competing for the right tackle job. Beekman is a solid run blocker, and the addition of coach Mike Tice should have things looking up for this unit.

Bears LG Josh Beekman was running with the first team at Monday's practice despite being benched during the Week 10 loss to the 49ers.

Frank Omiyale and Beekman are flip-flopping as the Bears struggle to find consistency along their line continues. Beekman is a better run blocker while Omiyale has the edge in pass protection, but neither is very good, period.

Incumbent LG Josh Beekman has "far and away" outperformed free agent signee Frank Omiyale in training camp.

Though Omiyale was signed away from the Panthers for $14M in February, Beekman has a "stranglehold" on the starting job. It's good news for Matt Forte, as Beekman was the Bears' strongest run-blocking lineman last season.

Bears signed fourth-round G Josh Beekman, a former Boston College Golden Eagle, to a four-year contract.

Beekman is a thickly-built mauler who started three years at BC and can play both guard and center. He could be Ruben Brown's replacement in 2008.
