Chiefs signed LB Zac Diles, formerly of the Titans, to a one-year contract.
Diles, 28 in June, spent his first four years with the Texans, but he has bounced around since. He's been with the Rams, Bucs, Colts, and Titans over the last two seasons. Diles made 11 tackles for Tennessee before breaking his leg in Week 7 last season. The Chiefs have a hole at the inside linebacker position next to Derrick Johnson. Diles could compete to fill it. Titans MLB Zac Diles (broken leg) is out for the season after going down in Week 7.

Diles had taken over as Tennessee's starting middle linebacker during Colin McCarthy's recovery from a recurring high ankle sprain. McCarthy is expected to return in Week 8 against the Colts, so the Titans shouldn't feel Diles' loss other than from a depth perspective.

Titans MLB Zac Diles was carted off in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Bills with an ankle injury.

Diles tried to tackle C.J. Spiller in the open field and got his ankle shook. The Titans are really thin at linebacker now with Colin McCarthy (ankle) inactive.

Titans signed LB Zac Diles.

Diles worked out for the Titans back in February. A 30-game starter for the Texans from 2008-2010, the injury-plagued Diles appeared in just four games as a special teamer with the Colts last year. He's purely a backup at this point.

The Titans worked out free agent LB Zac Diles and NT Lamar Divens on Friday.

Diles was waived by the Colts this week and appeared in four games on special teams. Divens, 26, failed his physical with the Ravens in training camp and hasn't played in the NFL since 2010.

Colts waived LB Zac Diles, OG Jaimie Thomas, and OT James Williams.

Diles, a former starter in Houston, was claimed off waivers from the Bucs in early December, recording two tackles in four games as a special teamer. Thomas battled back injuries on top of a four-game suspension last season.

Colts claimed LB Zac Diles off waivers from the Bucs.

Diles played in a similar scheme with Tampa Bay and will add special teams value in Indianapolis. He has experience at all three linebacker positions.

Bucs waived LB Zac Diles.

A former Texans starter, Diles was active just seven times this season, making one tackle after being picked up off the Rams' scrap heap. Known as a run defender, it doesn't bode well for Diles' future that he was cut by two teams with terrible run defenses. Still only 26, he has time to revive his career.

Bucs signed LB Zac Diles, formerly of the Rams.

A 30-game starter for the Texans from 2007-2010, Diles recorded a career-high 82 tackles last season. He's reunited with HC Raheem Morris, who was defensive coordinator for Kansas State in 2006. Diles will play a reserve role in Tampa.

Rams released LB Zac Diles.

Diles was signed in July with the intention of being the Rams' starting weak-side linebacker, but got outplayed by fellow free agent signing Ben Leber. Diles spent the previous four seasons in Houston, racking up 223 tackles, one sack and one interception. A physical run defender, he should be able to latch on somewhere else.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch confirms that Zac Diles is expected to be the Rams' starting weak-side linebacker.

Diles played all three linebacker spots in Houston, but the Post-Dispatch notes that he was at his best when able to focus on one position. The Rams will count on Diles to upgrade their run defense. He has a reputation for physicality.

Rams agreed to terms with OLB Zac Diles on a one-year contract.

Diles has experience at all three linebacker positions, but he figures to slot in at one of the outside spots in St. Louis. A favorite of NFL Films guru Greg Cosell's, Diles is coming off probably his worst season as a pro, mostly due to injuries. He's still just 26, however, and should be plenty motivated on this one-year, "prove-it" deal. Cosell has described Diles as a "stacked" 4-3 linebacker "with toughness" who is "consistently around the ball."

The Rams are reportedly showing interest in free agent OLB Zac Diles.

The Seahawks and Bears are also "in the mix." Diles was awful last year, at least in part because of bouts with dizziness and heart palpitations down the stretch. None of the above teams should consider paying him starter-caliber money.

Texans LB Zac Diles (dizziness, heart palpitations) did not make the team flight to New York, and will miss Week 11 against the Jets.

Houston's second-leading tackler was hospitalized earlier in the week, but the situation is reportedly "under control". Rookie Darryl Sharpton will start in place of Diles, who is expected to return Week 12 against the Titans.

Texans WLB Zach Diles spent Thursday night in a hospital after experiencing flu-like symptoms.

All signs point to Diles starting against the Jets, but IDP leaguers should have a contingency plan. Darryl Sharpton would be next in line to replace Diles.
