Free agent S Marvin White has denied making threats and being verbally abusive toward management at his child's day care center on Thursday.
"I didn’t make any threats while I was present at my children’s daycare," White said in a statement released to Pro Football Talk. "I am looking forward to putting this situation behind me." The situation has yet to be resolved legally, but doesn't seem major enough to warrant a suspension this season. Sun, Jul 17, 2011 12:34:00 PM

Free agent S Marvin White was arrested and charged with simple assault and disturbing the peace by loud and abusive language on Thursday in Opelousas, La.

At a day care center to pick up his child, White reportedly became "verbally abusive to the management when the manager assumed he was boyfriend of (his) child's mother," according to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. When asked to leave, "he then made threats in front of the children and other adults," and was ultimately arrested. A four-year veteran, White made just one tackle in three games for the Bengals last season.

Bengals signed S Marvin White, formerly of the Lions.

You know it's bad when you're picking up scraps that the Lions' lowly secondary left behind. White was drafted by the Bengals in 2007, but tore his ACL and bounced between the Lions and Cowboys last season. He'll be a deep reserve in Cincy, even with Gibril Wilson's season-ending knee injury.

Lions waived S Marvin White.

White's relatively pricey $1.01 million salary was working against him, but he's not been the same since tearing his ACL with the Bengals. The former fourth-round pick could resurface elsewhere as a kick coverage specialist.

Lions claimed S Marvin White off waivers from the Cowboys.

Dallas was intending to re-sign White because of Gerald Sensabaugh's thumb injury, but Detroit got him first. He'll replace Kalvin Pearson on special teams. Pearson suffered an undisclosed injury in Sunday's loss to Chicago.

The Cowboys are expected to re-sign S Marvin White if he clears waivers.

Gerald Sensabaugh will need surgery on his thumb and is out at least one game and probably more. White was released on Saturday to make room for practice squad RB Chauncey Washington.

Cowboys waived S Marvin White.

The Cowboys made the move so RB Chauncey Washington could be signed off the practice squad. It's a sign that the team is at least a little concerned that Marion Barber's quad will be a factor in Sunday's game against the Broncos. Felix Jones (knee) is out.

"No setbacks," White confirmed. He's due back on the practice field in late June, but has likely lost his starting job to $10 million man Chris Crocker.

Bengals S Marvin White tore his ACL in the team's Week 13 loss. He will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.

Cincinnati has had an unmanageable number of injuries in the secondary this season. White finishes with 68 tackles in 12 appearances, including 10 starts. He is certain to face competition for his starting job in 2009.

Marvin White is expected to be the Bengals' starting free safety this year.

The 2007 fourth-rounder doesn't have any competition. White lacks elite speed, but was a playmaker at TCU. He's a DB to monitor in IDP leagues.
