Giants waived C Adam Koets.
Koets signed a three-year deal just before tearing his ACL last November. He ended up having a second operation in August after complications developed. Koets apparently wasn't ready to resume practicing this week. The Giants opted to let him go rather than carrying him on the PUP list the rest of the way. Tue, Nov 8, 2011 01:33:00 PM

Giants C Adam Koets is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery.

We're assuming the knee complications are rooted in last year's torn ACL. Koets, a former offensive tackle, has been converted to center entering his fifth season in the league. He was set to open the year as David Baas' backup.

Giants signed C Adam Koets to a three-year, $3 million contract.

Great timing for Koets, who was also placed on injured reserve Tuesday. The Giants are just announcing the deal, but Koets signed over the weekend -- just before tearing his left ACL in Sunday's game. Koets received a handy $360,000 signing bonus, though the injury may cast doubt on his 2011 roster spot.

Giants C Adam Koets tore his left ACL in Sunday's win over the Seahawks.

Koets' 2010 season was off to a strong start with the first four starts of his career and a major role when he didn't run with the first-team offense, but he'll now enter 2011 free agency coming off reconstructive knee surgery. The Giants do have enough offensive line depth to withstand the loss.

Giants C Adam Koets left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter with a left knee injury.

The team is initially calling it a sprain, and coach Tom Coughlin says he's "hoping against hope" the Koets and David Diehl (hip) will be ready for Week 9 against Dallas. With New York reshuffling its line in Week 9, Koets played mostly as a "jumbo" tight end. Rich Seubert started at center.

Coach Tom Coughlin is prepared to move forward with Adam Koets starting at center due to Shaun O'Hara's ongoing problems with his left Achilles.

"We're not sure where this is going to lead," Coughlin said of O'Hara's injury. He added, "We certainly think we can go forward with Adam at center. We've played him an awful lot. He's had a lot of preseason work. He's had game work now." Koets replace O'Hara in the lineup in Week 3 and Coughlin said he was "pretty solid."

Giants agreed to terms with sixth-round T Adam Koets.

Koets played his college ball at Oregon State. The Giants like his athleticism, but he needs to work on his strength. He could eventually compete for the job at right tackle.
