Cowboys released OG Nate Livings (knee) with an injury settlement.
Livings needed further surgery on his troublesome right knee in early August. The Cowboys weren't willing to wait as they've gone with Ronald Leary at left guard. Livings signed a five-year, $18.7 million contract with the Cowboys in March of 2012. The deal included $6.2 million guaranteed. Thu, Sep 5, 2013 12:16:00 PM

Cowboys placed OG Nate Livings on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.

He underwent a knee scope earlier this month and was questionable for Week 1. Livings had already lost his starting left guard spot to Ronald Leary, so the Cowboys didn't deem him worthy enough of a roster spot while he's sidelined.

Cowboys LG Nate Livings will undergo a second surgery on his troublesome right knee and will be sidelined 2-4 weeks.

It will be Livings' second surgery on the right knee in the past six months. The 31-year-old aggravated his balky knee in OTAs, and then re-aggravated it early in training camp. Livings' roster spot is in grave danger. It seemed the team was already moving away from him even before he went down. The Cowboys have just four healthy interior linemen heading into Sunday's preseason opener.

The Cowboys fear LG Nate Livings (knee) could be "sidelined for a while."

Livings' knee injury comes on the heels of an early-camp foot issue. He's one of five Dallas guards nursing injuries, along with Mackenzy Bernadeau, Kevin Kowalski, Ryan Cook, and Ray Dominguez. Livings had offseason surgery on his right knee, and re-injured it at OTAs. The Cowboys seem to be trying to replace Livings at left guard, even though he played well last season.

Cowboys LG Nate Livings (foot) and backup OG Ronald Leary (calf) will be limited the first couple days of training camp.

Both players suffered the minor injuries last week, but they're not expected to miss significant time. Livings is coming off a season in which he graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 6 overall guard, and Leary's name is in the mix to start at right guard if he can unseat veteran Mackenzy Bernadeau.

ESPN Dallas suggests Cowboys LG Nate Livings' roster spot is in jeopardy.

Livings, 31, started all 16 games last season and graded out as Pro Football Focus' sixth-best left guard. He also recently restructured his contract to help the Cowboys clear some cap space. Livings is under contract for $815,000 this season. He's not going anywhere.

Cowboys LG Nate Livings underwent surgery on his right knee two weeks ago.

He's still expected to be ready for Dallas' offseason conditioning program. Signed to a five-year, $19 million contract last March, Livings was the Cowboys' lone reliable interior offensive lineman, performing well across 16 starts.

Cowboys LG Nate Livings left Sunday's Week 3 game to get X-rays on his hand.

Livings returned from the locker room and is questionable to go back in the game. He's been Dallas' top interior lineman the first two weeks. Livings returned to the game in the second quarter.

Cowboys signed OG Nate Livings to a five-year, $19 million contract.

The exodus of starters from Cincinnati continues. The deal reportedly includes $6.2 million guaranteed. Livings started all 32 games for the Bengals the past two seasons, though he did grade out as one of the league's poorer left guards by Pro Football Focus in 2011.

Free agent OG Nate Livings will reportedly visit the Cowboys.

The Cowboys continue to seek help on the interior of their offensive line. They signed Mackenzy Bernadeau earlier Wednesday and still have Kyle Kosier under contract. Livings has started every game at left guard for the Bengals over the last two seasons and will be 30 on Friday. Livings also has a visit scheduled with the Rams.

Offensive line coach Paul Alexander believes Nate Livings has played well enough to keep his starting left guard job in 2011.

Livings nailed down the starting job last year in large part because Evan Mathis was returning from a foot injury in training camp. Mathis has been the better player the past two years, but he's set to reach free agency this season. The Bengals can do better than Livings, who has struggled to protect Carson Palmer.

Bengals declared LG Nate Livings, QB Jordan Palmer, CB David Jones, S Tom Nelson, OT Andre Smith, TE Chase Coffman, WR Jerome Simpson, and DE Frostee Rucker inactive for Week 2.

Evan Mathis will start in place of Livings, which is not a significant downgrade. Still, the Bengals offensive line is a major concern for this season, and the Packers defensive front seven will be bringing the heat.

Bengals LG Nate Livings is out for Week 2 with a knee injury.

Replacement Evan Mathis is young and has starting experience, so Livings' loss isn't a major concern for Cedric Benson. The Green Bay front seven is.
