Rams WR Derek Stanley "appears close" to full practice participation after tearing his ACL with cartilage damage in Week 15 last season.

Stanley's quick recovery bodes well for his chances of landing a roster spot. He's in the mix to be St. Louis' fourth receiver and has added return value.

Coach Jim Haslett revealed that Derek Stanley tore his ACL and cartilage in his knee during the Rams' Week 15 loss. Stanley will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.

A speedster, Stanley flashed big-play ability in 2008 but remains raw and is unlikely to evolve into a major contributor on offense. Since speed is his lone calling card, any loss of it from this injury could be devastating.

Rams WR Derek Stanley will undergo an MRI Monday on his injured knee.

Coach Jim Haslett called it a "significant injury" in his post-game press conference and the St. Louis Post-Dispatch suggests he may be out for the rest of the season. He was hurt while trying to make a play on an end-around in the first quarter.

Rams KR Derek Stanley left Sunday's game with a sprained knee.

The fleet-footed but often overmatched wideout had already lost a fumble that Jordan Babineaux picked up and returned for a touchdown. Adding insult to injury, Stanley will have X-rays and was ultimately declared out for the game.

Derek Stanley caught one pass and took it 80 yards for a touchdown in the Rams' Week 9 loss to Arizona.

Stanley appeared to play ahead of Keenan Burton as the third receiver, which was a change that can't be expected to stick. The catch was the first of Stanley's career. He can fly, but that's basically all he has going for him.

Rams WR Derek Stanley (head) attempted to practice Wednesday but coaches made him leave the field because trainers had not yet cleared him.

Stanley, a special teamer, stretched and caught a few passes before getting the boot. "They told me I had to come in," he said. "If it was up to me, I'd have been out there the entire practice. I feel great."

Derek Stanley left Sunday's game in the second quarter after taking a hit to the head.

Stanley appeared to be knocked out after getting blindsided by Keith Davis on special teams, but was eventually able to walk off the field under his own power. He was later taken to the hospital for observation.

Condren didn't make the game-day roster after being claimed him off waivers from the Colts. Stanley is very unlikely to make an impact at receiver.

Rams waived WR Derek Stanley, C Dustin Fry, CB Darius Vinnett, T Mark LeVoir, RB Lance Ball, LB Marc Magro, CB David Macklin, and FB Russ Weil.

Stanley can fly, but is probably too small to have a future in the league. Macklin's time may be just about up. Ball is a practice squad option.

Wide receiver Derek Stanley rejoined the Wisconsin-Whitewater track team this spring without informing Rams head coach Scott Linehan.

Not a smart move. Linehan permitted Stanley to return to school to get his degree, but not to run track. "I'll sit down and visit with him," Linehan said. "That's something that probably won't be happening many times again."

The slight but speedy rookie from UW-Whitewater could return kicks against the Packers with Brandon Williams (sprained ankle) having been ruled out.

Rams signed WR Derek Stanley, QB Brock Berlin, C Dustin Fry, and Keith Jackson to their practice squad.

The Rams are going with just two active quarterbacks after waiving Berlin and dealing Ryan Fitzpatrick. Stanley has potential but is on the small side.
