Rams waived OT Renardo Foster.

After not appearing in a game since 2007, Foster played in 10 last season, starting one at right tackle. His chances of making the team took a hit when the Rams agreed to a restructured contract with OG Jacob Bell in late July. It certainly didn't help that Foster was owed a $1.2 million base salary.

Rams RT Renardo Foster is expected to start Sunday in Week 8 against Carolina in place of injured starter Jason Smith (concussion).

Foster will likely face a pass-rush from a mix of Charles Johnson and Greg Hardy on Sunday, but his primary task will be to block the way for Steven Jackson, who is expected to be active. Foster is an unheralded backup, but he draws a nice first start against Carolina.

Rams released OT Renardo Foster.

The Rams beat several teams to the punch when they plucked Foster off waivers in June, but he may not be ready to contribute after last season's ACL surgery.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, OT Renardo Foster is likely headed to the Rams.

Foster was released by the Falcons on Tuesday. His agent says the Rams have placed a waiver claim for the massive tackle. He would be a backup in St. Louis.

Falcons waived OT Renardo Foster.

Foster spent all of 2008 on the PUP list, but did start two games for Bobby Petrino as an undrafted rookie the previous season. Still, he had little to hang his hat on under a new front office while coming off a torn ACL.

Falcons kept OT Renardo Foster (knee) on the reserve/PUP list, ending his season.

A Bobby Petrino holdover, Foster started twice as a rookie in 2007 but wasn't ready to return from knee surgery. He'll battle for a roster spot in '09.

Falcons placed LT Renardo Foster on the PUP list.

A knee injury ended Foster's season in October last year, but there's no word yet on his malady this time around. He'll be out until at least Week 7.

Falcons placed LT Renardo Foster on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.

This is the second season ending injury Atlanta has suffered at the left tackle position, and leaves untested sophomore Quinn Ojinnaka to take over. It's more bad news for Joey Harrington, and maybe Chris Redman eventually. Foster showed some promise in two starts as an undrafted rookie, but may have a hard time securing a roster spot in 2008 coming off a serious injury.

Renardo Foster is expected to undergo an MRI Monday after leaving Sunday's game with a knee injury.

Foster was filling in for Wayne Gandy, who was lost for the season with a knee injury. The combination of Joey Harrington at quarterback and a third-string left tackle protecting his blind side could be disastrous.

Renardo Foster left Sunday's game in the fourth quarter with an apparent leg injury.

He was carted off the field. Foster is already subbing for the injured Wayne Gandy, so losing him would be a big blow.

Rookie Renardo Foster has taken over as the Falcons’ starting left tackle.

Unheralded and subsequently undrafted out of Louisville, he faces a daunting task in protecting Joey Harrington, and presumably Byron Leftwich’s blindside down the line. First up for Foster: Osi Umenyiora on Monday night.
