Cowboys placed DE Edgar Jones (groin) on injured reserve/designated for return.

He'll be eligible to return in Week 15. A special teamer and backup defensive end, Jones was acquired for a late-round draft pick in late August.

Cowboys acquired DE Edgar Jones and a 2014 seventh-round pick from the Chiefs in exchange for a 2014 sixth-round pick.

Jones offers nothing more than special teams experience, playing just 47 snaps on defense in 2012. It's surprising the Chiefs even got that much.

Chiefs re-signed OLB Edgar Jones.

Jones, 28, recorded seven tackles on special teams last season.

Chiefs signed LB Edgar Jones, formerly of the Ravens.

27-year-old Jones is a utility player, having seen action at linebacker, defensive end, tight end, and special teams through four NFL seasons. The latter would be Jones' ticket to a roster spot in Kansas City.

Ravens signed LB Edgar Jones.

Jones takes the place of Prescott Burgess, who landed on injured reserve with an abdomen injury Tuesday. Jones, who was with the Ravens from 2007-10, will serve a special teams role.

Redskins waived LB Edgar Jones.

Jones was attempting to make the Redskins as a special teamer, but suffered a concussion in their third preseason game. He appeared in just five games for the Ravens last season after appearing in all 16 in 2009.

Redskins LB Edgar Jones suffered a concussion in Washington's Friday evening preseason game.

An ill-timed injury for a special teamer and reserve linebacker who was active just five times for the Ravens last season. If Jones isn't active for Washington's preseason finale on September 1, he can likely kiss his chances of making the roster goodbye.

Ravens waived LB Edgar Jones.

The special teamer was cut loose in order to clear a roster spot for Brendon Ayanbadejo.

The Ravens have moved Edgar Jones back to outside linebacker.

The college defensive end has been tried at tight end and fullback to this point, but outside 'backer is his best position in Baltimore's 3-4. Jones still has to make the roster as a special teamer. He had 19 ST tackles in 2009.

The Ravens are converting TE/LB Edgar Jones to fullback.

His primary role remains on special teams (he made 9 ST stops in '09), but Jones is becoming a jack of all trades. The former college linebacker played tight end last year. He'll now back up starting lead blocker Le'Ron McClain.

Ravens re-signed TE Edgar Jones to a one-year, $545,000 contract.

Jones, 25, is a converted linebacker and special teamer. He appeared in all 16 games last season, finishing with just one catch for eight yards.

The Ravens did not extend TE Edgar Jones a tender, making him an unrestricted free agent.

The ex-linebacker is a blocker on offense and special teamer, but may return at a minimum salary. The tender would've cost Baltimore over $1 million.

Edgar Jones is expected to play more tight end than linebacker this season.

Jones is getting first-team reps in practices but only because Todd Heap (back) and L.J. Smith (groin) are being held back by injuries. He could take on Quinn Sypniewski's old blocking role while pitching in on special teams.

Ravens declared TE Edgar Jones, WR Terrance Copper, WR Marcus Maxwell, CB Evan Oglesby, OL Oniel Cousins, OT David Hale, DL Lamar Divens, and third QB Todd Bouman inactive for Week 14.

Baltimore has all three of its tailbacks up on the game-day roster, making it highly unpredictable which will dominate carries. LeRon McClain, Willis McGahee, and Ray Rice will probably all be used.
