Louis Leonard and Kevin Vickerson are working as the Broncos' starting defensive tackles early in camp.

The Broncos were reported to have set up Friday visits with Jason Hatcher and Derek Landri, but otherwise they haven't been taking their interior defensive line situation seriously all offseason. Leonard, a former undrafted free agent, has five career starts in four seasons and one career sack. This will remain a defense to target for fantasy running backs.

Broncos signed DT Louis Leonard.

It's Leonard's third team this season, as he's made two tackles in three games with the Panthers and Patriots. He's nothing more than a depth add.

Leonard was signed last week for depth purposes, but he's no longer needed with defensive linemen Mike Wright (concussion), Ron Brace (concussion), and Myron Pryor (back) close to returning.

Panthers released DT Louis Leonard.

The cost-chopping Panthers blew $1.684M guaranteed by keeping Leonard on the Week 1 roster. Carolina has now released both Leonard and Tank Tyler after trading for them last season. Leonard lost all of 2009 to a broken ankle, and he's been dealing with a knee injury this year since training camp.

Panthers DT Louis Leonard has been limited to one practice a day by a left knee tweak.

Leonard said the knee isn't too painful, but he still feels it. He's also coming off a broken ankle that ended his 2009 season prematurely. The Panthers need Leonard to be a run-stuffer in the middle this year.

Panthers re-signed restricted free agent DT Louis Leonard to a one-year, $1.684 million contract.

Leonard, 26 in July, lasted just two games last season before breaking his ankle and going on injured reserve. The Panthers still see some potential in the 6'4/330-pound wide body, and have currently penciled him in as a starter.

Louis Leonard and Tank Tyler are currently penciled in as the Panthers' starting defensive tackles.

Veteran Colts castoff Ed Johnson should enter the mix during training camp, but this remains a subpar cast on the interior. The Panthers will once again have trouble stopping the run in 2010.

The Panthers have assigned a second-round tender to restricted free agent DT Louis Leonard.

Leonard bounced between countless teams before landing in Carolina in 2009 training camp and excelling on the practice field. He'll be safe at this tender level, and has an outside chance to be Ma'ake Kemoeatu's successor.

Panthers placed DT Louis Leonard on injured reserve with a broken ankle, ending his season.

Leonard's ankle surgery will call for a six-month recovery period. The Panthers now have only Damione Lewis, Nick Hayden, and rookie Sunny Harris on the roster as defensive tackles. Marion Barber and/or Felix Jones could have a field day next week against a woeful Panthers run defense.

Panthers DT Louis Leonard has a broken left ankle and will probably end up on injured reserve.

It's another blow to the Panthers' poor run-defense. Leonard had emerged as a starter and he was their biggest lineman at 6'4/330.

Panthers acquired DT Louis Leonard from the Browns for an undisclosed draft pick.

Leonard was an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State in 2007. He's bounced around since, but has size (6'4/330) Carolina is desperate for inside. Still, he won't save what we expect to be one of the NFL's worst run defenses.
