Cardinals CB Michael Adams left Sunday's game during the third quarter with a hamstring injury, but managed to return and finish the game.
Arizona can ill-afford to lose any of their cornerback depth, as they are one of the worst pass-defending units in the league. Sun, Nov 13, 2011 11:42:00 PM

Cardinals CB Michael Adams (neck/shoulder) has been released from the hospital.

Good news, but Adams is likely to miss at least one game after his scary collision with Rams WR Austin Pettis late in Sunday's win. Richard Marshall should see most of the snaps at nickel corner in Adams' absence.

Cardinals CB Michael Adams was carted off after suffering a neck or shoulder injury on a fourth-quarter tackle in Sunday's game.

Adams blew up Austin Pettis after a short catch with under 20 seconds left in the game. It was a big play, but Adams paid for it by leading with his head. The Cardinals' slot cornerback, Adams figures to be replaced by Richard Marshall with A.J. Jefferson returning outside if the injury is significant.

Cardinals CB Michael Adams is out indefinitely after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery Sunday.

The usual timetable for such "minor" operations is only 2-4 weeks, but that's never a guarantee. Adams was the Cardinals' primary slot corner last season. Richard Marshall sometimes covered the slot in Carolina and could be the fall-back option inside, if he hadn't already moved ahead of Adams.

Cardinals re-signed CB Michael Adams to a two-year contract.

Adams is a pint-sized (5'8/181) slot corner whom Arizona didn't tender as a restricted free agent before the lockout. They wanted him back all along, however, and he's likely to return in a similar role between rookie Patrick Peterson and Greg Toler. Adams also contributes a bit in kickoff coverage.

Pro Football Weekly reports the odds are greater than 50-50 that free agent Michael Adams will re-sign with the Cardinals.

A bit surprising, since the Cardinals did not place a restricted free agent tender on Adams in March. If he does indeed end up back in Arizona, he's likely to serve as the Cardinals' fourth corner this season.

The Cardinals declined tenders to CB Michael Adams and FB Reagan Maui'a, making them unrestricted free agents.

Adams is hardly a star, but it's a bit surprising that he didn't get tagged after serving as Arizona's nickel back all last season. The 26-year-old had two picks and five special teams tackles. Maui'a started four games and was marginal as a lead blocker. He also had five special teams stops.

Cardinals CB Michael Adams will undergo shoulder surgery this offseason.

It's presumably a cleanup-type procedure of arthroscopic nature. Adams, 25, finished his contract year with career highs in tackles (52) and interceptions (2). The Cards should try to upgrade at nickel back during the offseason.

Mike Adams was the starting corner across from Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie at the Cardinals' minicamp.

This may just be a seniority issue. Second-year man Greg Toler was the No. 4 corner at minicamp even though Adams was benched in favor of Toler during the playoffs. Trumaine McBride, who was cut by the Bears last year, ran as the nickel man. Clearly, corner is a major concern for the Cardinals.

Cardinals re-signed exclusive rights free agent CB Michael Adams to a one-year contract.

Adams, 25, made 40 tackles and an interception off the bench last season, but the Cards hope to upgrade at nickel back. They may look to the early rounds of this year's draft, or developing Greg Toler as Adams' replacement.

Cardinals extended tender offers to exclusive rights free agents CB Michael Adams, FB Nehemiah Broughton, and DE Jeremy Clark.

Adams will likely return to play special teams and add depth in the secondary, but Broughton and Clark are longshots to make the roster in 2010.

The Cardinals replaced DB Michael Adams with rookie Greg Toler in the nickel package during Saturday's Divisional round loss to the Saints.

It was a good idea in theory, but it went out the window when Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (knee) went down in the first quarter. The Saints went with three wideouts on almost every play, bringing both Adams and Toler onto the field. The Cardinals need to upgrade their secondary depth this offseason.

The Packers picked on Cardinals 5'8" nickel back Michael Adams in Sunday's Wild Card win.

Adams won the game by forcing a fumble that was returned for a touchdown in OT, but it was ugly before that. He was flagged for four penalties and burned repeatedly. Beat writer Ken Somers speculates that the Cardinals might pull Adams from the nickel package against the Saints this week.

Cardinals promoted CB Michael Adams from their practice squad.

The 5'8/180-pound Adams gives Arizona insurance behind Rod Hood (ribs).
