Bucs WR Mario Urrutia was reportedly arrested Sunday for a drivers license violation.

Urrutia was detained by Hillsborough County police for a "violation of non-resident drivers license" -- a misdemeanor in Florida. The charge is minor, but the bad publicity generated by any arrest is bad news for a fringe player.

Bucs WR Mario Urrutia was spotted with a walking boot cast on his right foot Monday.

Urrutia was a practice squad player for most of last season and we hadn't heard about any foot injuries. Regardless, he has an uphill battle to make the team after the Bucs drafted Arrelious Benn and Mike Williams.

Bucs signed WR Mario Urrutia off their practice squad.

The Louisville product gets two weeks of games and practices to prove he deserves a spot on the offseason roster. Urrutia has a Plaxico Burress-like build at 6'6/220, but he has bounced around the league for two years.

Bucs signed WR Mario Urrutia from their practice squad.

The Bucs are banged up at the receiver spot. Antonio Bryant (knee) and Maurice Stovall (knee) are both game-time decisions. Urrutia will probably take Stovall's spot on special teams.

The Louisville prduct still needs a lot of work before he's ready to contribute on Sundays. He's still suffering from leaving college too early.

Bucs signed WR Mario Urrutia and released RB Josh Vaughan.

Urrutia spent last season on the Bengals' practice squad and was waived by the Jets on Wednesday. Urrutia has the size (6-foot-6, 232 pounds) but has never been able to get open at the NFL level. It's unlikely he'll have any value this season.

Jets waived WR Mario Urrutia.

Urrutia, a former seventh-round pick of the Bengals, lasted with the Jets just over the month. He struggles to separate from physical press coverage.

Jets claimed WR Mario Urrutia off waivers from the Bengals.

A seventh-round pick last year, Urrutia is a tall receiver who flashed dominant vertical skills at Louisville with Brian Brohm. Urrutia's work ethic and character have been called into question, making him a long shot for future fantasy value even on a team with question marks beyond Jerricho Cotchery.

Bengals waived WR Mario Urrutia.

Urrutia has NFL talent, but work ethic and character question marks may cost him a chance at a career. He's a fringe prospect at best at this point.

Bengals signed WRs Mario Urrutia and Maurice Purify, OL James Blair, CB Marcus Brown, OL Digger Bujnoch, DE Victor DeGrate, and FB J.D. Runnels to reserve/future contracts.

They'll all go to offseason workouts with Cincinnati. Urrutia was the Bengals' seventh-round pick in 2008 and has lots of talent. He could get a long look in the spring if T.J. Houshmandzadeh leaves in free agency.

Bengals waived WR Mario Urrutia, DT Antwon Burton, S John Busing, DE/OLB Eric Henderson, and RB James Johnson.

Johnson and Urrutia could both be headed for the practice squad. Busing and Henderson were mainly special teamers. Burton is big, but real slow.

Bengals signed seventh-round WR Mario Urrutia to a four-year contract.

If you saw Urrutia as a Louisville freshman, you may have thought he was a top-ten pick in the making. But he never got much better and struggled outside of Bobby Petrino's system in 2007. He's also not in a good situation in Cincinnati. Urrutia might need some time on a practice squad to learn special teams before he has a realistic chance at making an NFL roster.
