Titans agreed to terms with G/C Rob Turner, formerly of the Rams, on a one-year, $1.5 million contract.
Turner started all 16 games last season, seven games at left guard and nine in place of injured Scott Wells at center. He played 1,084 snaps after missing all of 2011 with a broken leg. Turner fared better at center than guard, but will likely compete for the Titans' right guard job. Ideally, he'd be a versatile reserve. Mar 19 - 6:50 PM

Rams signed OL Robert Turner, formerly of the Jets.

Turner, who turns 28 before the season, is a former undrafted free agent out of New Mexico. Though able to play guard and right tackle, Turner started just two games in five years with the Jets. He's mostly a special teams lineman.

Free agent G/T Robert Turner visited the Rams on Friday.

Turner was one of three free agent guards to visit the Rams on Friday, joining Chilo Rachal and Jamey Richard. Turner missed 2011 with a broken leg, but appeared in all 16 games for the Jets in 2010. He'd be a versatile depth signing for a team reconstructing its offensive line.

The Jets plan to place G/T Rob Turner (broken leg) on injured reserve, a source tells the Newark Star-Ledger.

New York was hoping Turner would provide a late-season boost to its offensive line depth, but the Jets have come to terms with the fact that he's lost for the rest of 2011. Turner's deactivation will open up a roster spot.

Coach Rex Ryan said the Jets won't put G/T Rob Turner (broken leg) on injured reserve right now.

Ryan said Turner will be out "several weeks," but the original timetable was set at 8-12 weeks. Unless they need his roster spot, the title-contending Jets likely see Turner as a late-season boost to their offensive line depth.

Jets G/T Rob Turner broke his leg in Monday's preseason opener and will be out 8-12 weeks.

Turner will undergo surgery. After watching Vladimir Ducasse struggle badly on Monday and Turner go down, the Jets are likely feeling thin along the offensive line. They could make an add in free agency.

Jets extended G/T Rob Turner an original pick restricted free agent tender.

Originally undrafted out of Texas Tech, Turner would bring the Jets no compensation if another team signed him to an offer sheet. With two starts in his career, Turner probably won't generate interest in restricted free agency.
