Cardinals GM Steve Keim said there’s no timetable for an extension with contract-year RE Calais Campbell.
Campbell has been a top 3-4 end the last few years and is only entering his age-30 season, but re-signing him could be difficult with the Cardinals’ cap situation. Locking up Tyrann Mathieu is Arizona’s top priority. Jul 20 - 5:42 PM

The Arizona Republic reports the Cardinals are not shopping RE Calais Campbell.

A "report" surfaced Monday from the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that Arizona had placed Campbell on the trade block, citing "word on the street." The Sun-Sentinel has the least reliable NFL coverage in the nation, and therefore is never used as a Rotoworld source. Predictably, the report was unfounded and baseless. A contract extension for Campbell is much more likely than a trade.

Cardinals RE Calais Campbell is open to restructuring his contract.

Campbell currently has a $14.75 million 2015 cap hit. He isn't a candidate for a pay cut, but could convert some of his $9M salary into a signing bonus. Campbell had sports hernia surgery earlier this month and expects to be ready for OTAs.

Cardinals RE Calais Campbell (sports-hernia surgery) expects to be ready for OTAs.

Campbell went under the knife last week. Coming off another excellent season, the 29-year-old (in September) Campbell is due $9 million in 2015.

Cardinals RE Calais Campbell will have sports hernia surgery during the first week of February.

The injury clearly isn't bothering Campbell too much as he played through it during the season and will participate in Sunday's Pro Bowl. Campbell, arguably the game's finest 3-4 end this side of J.J. Watt, will be ready by camp. Sports hernia surgeries usually come with a 6-10 week recovery timetable.

Cardinals DE Calais Campbell (knee) is active for Sunday's Week 8 game against the Eagles.

Campbell may have his snaps limited based on how he feels coming off an MCL sprain, but he presence is big for the Cardinals. They've also activated RB Marion Grice for the first time even though Andre Ellington and Stepfan Taylor are healthy. Cardinals DE Calais Campbell (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 8.

He was limited in practice all week. Campbell's initial return timetable was 3-4 weeks, but he's progressed ahead of schedule. We suspect Campbell would play a limited role against the Eagles if he's activate for the game.

Cardinals DE Calais Campbell (knee) has progressed to "jogging" and is expected to be back for Week 8.

Campbell sprained his MCL in Week 5 against the Broncos on a heavily scrutinized low block by Julius Thomas. Coach Bruce Arians doesn't expect to see Campbell play this week. Ed Stinson will get another start at right end.

Cardinals DE Calais Campbell will miss 3-4 weeks with an MCL sprain.

For what it's worth, coach Bruce Arians put Campbell's timetable in the 1-3 week range. Either way, it's a huge blow to Arizona's defense, which since last season has now lost Darnell Dockett, Daryl Washington, Karlos Dansby, and John Abraham. Patrick Peterson also limped off the field Sunday with an apparent foot injury. Campbell is easily Arizona's best front-seven player. They play the Redskins next.

Cardinals DE Calais Campbell exited Sunday's Week 5 game against Denver with a knee injury.

He's not expected to return. The Cardinals have played competitive defense for the most part despite a litany of injuries, but Campbell's loss could be a real back breaker.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms Calais Campbell (neck) will play in Thursday's game against the Seahawks.

Campbell will suit up just four days after a scary scene that saw him carted off and taken to a hospital for testing. It's excellent news for the Cardinals if they're going to spring an upset. Campbell is annually one of the best 3-4 ends in football.

Cardinals RE Calais Campbell (neck) is expected to play in Thursday night's game against the Seahawks.

It's a relief considering Campbell was stretchered off the field with numbness and tingling in his extremities just four days ago. After undergoing CT scans and MRIs Sunday night, he was fully cleared. If Campbell is a surprise late scratch, Ronald Talley will get the start.

RE Calais Campbell (neck) returned to Cardinals practice Tuesday, getting in a limited session.

It puts Campbell on track to play Thursday against the Seahawks, but it's quite possible he'll end up a game-time decision. The best course of action may be holding Campbell out and giving him 10 days to rest up for Week 8.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports doctors believe Cardinals RE Calais Campbell will be "sore but OK" after Sunday's Week 6 neck injury.

Campbell was hospitalized following the scary injury, but could move all of his extremities and appears to have avoided significant damage. Through six games, Campbell has three sacks and a forced fumble. Arizona's next game is against Seattle on Thursday night. Campbell seems unlikely to play.
