Ravens waived/injured WR James Hardy.
Hamstring issues prevented Hardy from suiting up for Baltimore's first three preseason games, which pretty much shot his chances of making the roster. He failed to get on the field in 2010 after appearing in two games for the Bills in 2009. As the 41st overall pick in the 2008 draft, Hardy's been an utter bust. Sat, Sep 3, 2011 02:59:00 PM

James Hardy (hamstring) returned to Ravens practice Tuesday on a limited basis.

The oft-injured Hardy has been out since the first week of camp. He's a long shot for the final 53, especially after the Ravens traded for Lee Evans.

Ravens WR James Hardy has missed a large chunk of camp with a hamstring injury.

You can't make the club in the tub, and Hardy was on the roster bubble even before the Lee Evans trade. Hardy has been injury prone throughout his career.

Ravens WR James Hardy is finally "100 percent" healthy after ACL and foot injuries the past two years.

Hardy believes he can be the deep threat the Ravens need, but that hasn't been his game since he entered the league. He's up against long odds to make the final roster after losing out on a chance to impress coaches in OTAs.

Ravens WR James Hardy was reportedly turning heads at recent workouts organized by Derrick Mason.

A Bills' second-round pick in 2008, Hardy has been a massive bust, making just 10 catches in 16 games thanks to injury and ineffectiveness. He thinks he can still be a factor if healthy: "I feel my raw ability is why I’m here." His odds of making the Ravens were already long, but they are just about non-existent after Baltimore drafted Torrey Smith and Tandon Doss last month.

Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome says he believes futures signee James Hardy can be "a good player in this league."

"And maybe he can do that here," added Newsome. As is the case for any "futures" player, Hardy would need a big offseason to garner consideration for a 2011 roster spot. Unfortunately, there may be no OTAs or minicamps this spring. Hardy also doesn't fit the Ravens' need for a vertical threat.

Ravens signed WR James Hardy to a reserve/future contract.

Hardy will continue to receive opportunities thanks to his 6'5" frame and second-round pedigree. He's been nothing but a massive, injury-plagued disappointment to this point in his career, however. Hardy was out of the league in 2010 after being waived by the Bills in September.

Titans worked out free agent WRs James Hardy, Reggie Brown, Yamon Figurs, and Jordan Kent Tuesday.

The Titans had a cavalcade of free agents in Tuesday, though no wideout signings are imminent.

The Colts are scheduled to meet with free agent WR James Hardy, formerly of the Bills.

The Indianapolis Star's Mike Chappell writes that it's not clear if the Colts are just getting information on Hardy or if they might seriously consider signing him. The team is looking for depth with Anthony Gonzalez and Pierre Garcon out with injuries.

The Seahawks worked out free agent WR James Hardy on Tuesday.

Hardy is 6'5 with good red zone skills, so he'll get another chance despite his disastrous tenure in Buffalo. The Seahawks are likely just seeing where Hardy is at in preparation for Deion Branch's eventual injury.

Bills waived WR James Hardy.

The 41st overall pick in the 2008 draft was beaten out by undrafted free agent David Nelson. Hardy has been consistently outplayed by Steve Johnson, and he never got on track after tearing his ACL late in his rookie season. Not helping on special teams hurts his chances of landing a job elsewhere.

Coach Chan Gailey said he expects James Hardy (foot) to play against the Bengals on Saturday.

It's a good sign that Hardy was able to practice on back-to-back days Wednesday and Thursday. But with all the time he's missed, it might be too little to late. Gailey said Hardy will play sparingly on Saturday.

Bills WR James Hardy (foot) practiced extensively Wednesday for the first time since August 10.

Hardy hasn't played in the preseason and is dangerously low on the depth chart, so he may need to get in (and do something in) Saturday's matchup with the Bengals to retain any hope of making the club. We wouldn't bet on it.

James Hardy is no better than sixth on the depth chart right now, according to the Buffalo News.

Hardy has missed the last couple weeks due to a foot injury while Chad Jackson and David Nelson have impressed. It would be a surprise if Hardy sticks on the final roster.

Bills WR James Hardy (undisclosed) has been ruled out for the team's second preseason game.

The Bills still haven't given the nature of Hardy's injury, but he's been out since August 10. Hardy's chances of making the roster dwindle by the day.
