Ex-Bills QB Brian Brohm has signed with the CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
That's not "Tigers" or "Cats," but Tiger-Cats. The former second-round flop hasn't appeared in a game since 2010, and could end his NFL career with just 52 regular-season pass attempts. Brohm is one of Packers GM Ted Thompson's biggest draft misses. Wed, Apr 17, 2013 01:19:00 PM

Free agent QB Brian Brohm will participate in Saints rookie minicamp this weekend.

Saints coaches also got a look at Brohm back in March when he threw passes for Randy Moss' workout. The former Packers second-rounder last played in 2010 with the Bills. He owns a 51.9 completion percentage and eye-catching 26.0 passer rating on 52 career attempts. Ex-Bills TE Derek Schouman will also work out for the Saints.

Free agent QB Brian Brohm will throw passes during Randy Moss' Tuesday workout for the Saints.

Allowed to walk as a restricted free agent by the Bills last season, the former second-round pick drew no public interest before eventually signing with the UFL's Las Vegas Locomotives. Brohm has likely thrown his last NFL pass.

QB Brian Brohm has signed with the Las Vegas Locomotives of the UFL.

Once considered a first-round NFL talent, Brohm has bottomed out. The Packers gave up on the No. 56 overall pick in the 2008 draft and the Bills didn't even tender him as a restricted free agent this offseason. Putting something decent on tape in the UFL is Brohm's best route for getting another shot in the majors.

Free agent QB Brian Brohm is not expected back with the Bills.

Brohm was not even tendered as a restricted free agent in March after faceplanting in the season finale against the Jets. The Bills will be on the hunt for Ryan Fitzpatrick's backup in free agency.

The Bills did not tender an offer to restricted free agents QB Brian Brohm, DE John McCargo, LB Keith Ellison, CB Ashton Youboty, and RB Quinton Ganther.

The Bills still have one more day to extend tender offers, but it's noteworthy that Brohm wasn't included in Tuesday's batch. Brohm never came close to pushing for playing time last season before a disastrous performance in the season finale. An early-round QB could take Brohm's place as Ryan Fitzpatrick's backup.

Brian Brohm completed 10-of-23 passes for 106 yards and three interceptions in a Week 17 loss to the Jets.

The Jets defense brought constant pressure, hitting Brohm 10 times and forcing two interceptions on balls that were tipped immediately after Brohm released them. The third pick was an ugly ill-advised throw that turned into a pick-six. Brohm was replaced late by Levi Brown, who looked solid before throwing a pick of his own. Look for Brohm to be squarely on the roster bubble this offseason.

Bills coach Chan Gailey admitted Monday that he considered benching Ryan Fitzpatrick for Brian Brohm in Week 4 against the Jets.

"We were thinking about it," said Gailey. "I went and told Fitz that if we didn’t get anything on that next to last drive that I was going to try to play Brian and get him some reps." This confirms that Fitzpatrick is on a short leash. The Bills are 0-4, so expect Brohm to get starts down the stretch.

Bills declared QB Brian Brohm, OT Jamon Meredith, OT Ed Wang, DE Alex Carrington, DL John McCargo, LB Paul Posluszny, LB Antonio Coleman, and S Cary Harris inactive at New England in Week 3.

Trent Edwards will back up new starter Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback this week. The Bills don't have a single offensive player that should be in fantasy lineups of 12-team leagues this week.

Brian Brohm's roster spot could be in trouble if the Bills decide not to try to pass rookie Levi Brown through waivers.

This confirms that Brohm has lost out to Ryan Fitzpatrick for the backup job behind Trent Edwards. It's likely, though, that they will attempt to pass Brown through waivers and keep Brohm as the No. 3 quarterback.

Brian Brohm completed 14-of-21 passes for 125 yards against the Colts in Thursday's preseason action.

Brohm play efficiently if unspectacularly, making his reads and avoiding turnovers, in two quarters against the Colts' second-team defense. He may have done well enough to push Ryan Fitzpatrick into the third QB role, but Trent Edwards has sewn up the starting job barring injury.

Coach Chan Gailey confirmed that accuracy remains QB Brian Brohm's biggest hurdle as an NFL quarterback.

"He's very smart," Gailey said. "He knows where to go with the football. He's got good velocity on the ball. He just needs to work on continual accuracy. That's really been his only issue." And it's perhaps the most important one. Brohm simply doesn't have starter-caliber accuracy, and there's been no indication that he's even close to pushing an underwhelming Trent Edwards.

Brian Brohm will make his preseason debut in the Bills' second exhibition game Thursday night.

Trent Edwards started the opener, Ryan Fitzpatrick played extensively off the bench, and Brohm was inactive. The Bills may base their starter for the third game off the quarterbacks' combined film in games one and two. Coach Chan Gailey did note that accuracy has been Brohm's biggest issue in camp.

Bills QB Brian Brohm was a healthy scratch for the team's preseason opener on Friday night.

Coach Chan Gailey indicated that he wants Ryan Fitzpatrick to get as many reps as possible, so Brohm is probably only sitting out for that reason. He should play extensively in the second preseason game. Trent Edwards started Friday night, as expected. Levi Brown should play the fourth quarter.
Fri, Aug 13, 2010 07:39:00 PM

Brian Brohm appears to have passed Ryan Fitzpatrick to be the Bills' No. 2 quarterback behind Trent Edwards.

We've noticed recent practice reports routinely having Brohm as the QB of the second-team offense, and heard little about Fitzpatrick of late. Edwards has a firm grip on the starting job, as Brohm hasn't exactly torn it up with the twos.
