New Raiders CB Mike Jenkins has just one interception over his past 38 games.
He has only two picks since 2009. Unlike other frequent burn victims in the secondary, Jenkins isn't even smoothing things over with the occasional big play. Jenkins is penciled in as a starter in Oakland. For his part, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones insists Jenkins' Dallas tenure wasn't a failure. "We got starting time out of (him)," Jones bargained. "That’s not enough, but (he's not a bust)." Apr 9 - 2:02 PM

Raiders agreed to terms with CB Mike Jenkins, formerly of the Cowboys, on a one-year contract.

Jenkins, 28, was the 25th pick in the 2008 draft. He made the Pro Bowl in 2009 and his career has been spiraling downward ever since. Beset by shoulder injuries in 2011, Jenkins was demoted to dime back in Dallas last year, behind Mo Claiborne, Brandon Carr, and Orlando Scandrick. Pro Football Focus graded Jenkins as the 94th "best" cornerback out of 113 qualifiers. He's now projected to start opposite fellow frequent burn victim Tracy Porter in Oakland.

Free agent CB Mike Jenkins left his Raiders visit without a contract.

It's unclear if Tracy Porter's signing has ruled Jenkins out for the Raiders, but the presence of Phillip Adams should hardly be considered a roadblock. It's unclear if/when Jenkins will make his Bills visit.
Apr 2 - 5:55 PM

Free agent CB Mike Jenkins is scheduled to visit the Bills and Raiders.

Jenkins visited the Jaguars Thursday and Friday, but left without a contract despite receiving an offer from the team. He's reportedly seeking a multi-year deal, which could prove to be an extremely difficult task in this year's ice-cold cornerback market.

Free agent CB Mike Jenkins is seeking a multi-year contract.

It's for that reason the Florida Times-Union considers Jenkins "by no means a slam dunk" to sign during his Jaguars visit, which will extend to a second day on Friday. Coming off a year where he played just 374 snaps, it's going to be very hard for Jenkins to get a multi-year pact in a cold cornerback market.
Mar 29 - 9:30 AM

Free agent CB Mike Jenkins will visit the Jaguars on Thursday.

It will be Jenkins' first visit of free agency, though he's also been linked to the Raiders. Jenkins was limited to dime duties in Dallas last season, but is still only 28, and has 48 career starts under his belt. Likely dirt cheap, he'd be a nice signing for a Jaguars team renovating its secondary.
Mar 26 - 4:57 PM

ESPN Dallas reports that the Raiders are interested in free agent CB Mike Jenkins.

Jenkins has drawn zero known interest since free agency opened, but he's one of the better young corners with starting experience left on the market. Oakland has one of the worst cornerback situations in the league. Jenkins, who turned 28 on Friday, would easily be the Raiders' top cover man if signed.
Mar 23 - 5:42 PM

ESPN Dallas' Calvin Watkins says the Cowboys are "not interested" in bringing back free agent CB Mike Jenkins.

This is not surprising. The Cowboys' official website called Jenkins "as good as gone" last month. Watkins says Jenkins is getting interest from unnamed clubs. Jenkins, 28 in two weeks, is expected to seek a starting job.
Mar 8 - 11:45 PM

Bryan Broaddus of DallasCowboys.com says impending free agent CB Mike Jenkins is as good as "gone" from the Cowboys.

Jenkins, 28 in March, is expected to seek out an opportunity to start, but ESPN Dallas recently said Jenkins won't "land the type of deal he expects." He was sparingly used in 2012 behind Brandon Carr, Morris Claiborne, and Orlando Scandrick, and the upcoming free-agent cornerback class is extremely deep at the moment. Jenkins does have 48 career starts under his belt.
Feb 8 - 8:16 AM

Free agent CB Mike Jenkins is expected to depart Dallas this offseason for an opportunity to start again.

ESPN Dallas suggests Jenkins "will not land the type of deal he expects" on the open market, but he's not returning to the Cowboys. The 25th overall pick in the 2008 draft, Jenkins was a sparingly-used dime cornerback in 2012 before slot corner Orlando Scandrick's year-ending injury. Jenkins, 28 in March, made 43 starts across the 2009-2011 seasons. He started just twice in 2012.

ESPN Dallas does not expect impending free agent CB Mike Jenkins to re-sign with the Cowboys.

This has long been the assumption after Jenkins' tumultuous 2012 offseason. For what it's worth, Jenkins himself hasn't closed the door on returning, but with each of Morris Claiborne, Brandon Carr and Orlando Scandrick signed long-term, the writing is on the wall. Limited to 358 snaps, Jenkins was largely ineffective in spot duty this season.

Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins was sent for an MRI exam after leaving Thursday's practice with a back injury.

Jenkins' availability for Sunday's game versus the Eagles is now in doubt. The Cowboys are also expected to be without ILB Dan Connor (shoulder strain), who has returned to limited practices.

ESPN Dallas' Todd Archer suspects that the Cowboys could get a fourth-round pick for CB Mike Jenkins before Thursday's trade deadline.

The Cowboys clung tightly to Jenkins in the offseason while learning more about Morris Claiborne. Claiborne has established himself as a solid rookie starter, and the Cowboys can likely more afford to move on from Jenkins now. Jenkins has been a dime back in Dallas' subpackages, covering in the slot and outside. It couldn't hurt teams to give owner Jerry Jones calls about him.

The MRI on Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins' shoulder revealed no structural damage.

Jenkins aggravated his shoulder injury at Baltimore, but was able to return to the game. Coach Jason Garrett is hopeful that he will be available for his typical role at Carolina in Week 7. The MRI on Morris Claiborne also showed no structural damage.

Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins is undergoing an MRI on his troublesome right shoulder.

Jenkins apparently tweaked his shoulder in Sunday's loss to the Ravens. Jenkins is no longer a starter in Big D, but remains a key piece of depth for Cowboys' top-ranked pass defense. He's played 48 snaps through four games. Jenkins was on the field for only seven plays before going down against Baltimore.
