Cardinals signed CB Mike Jenkins.
CB Carrington Byndom was released in a corresponding move. A first-round pick of the Cowboys way back in 2008, Jenkins spent the last two seasons with the Bucs, starting five games. He is a nice veteran depth addition for a fairly thin corner corps. Jul 19 - 12:12 PM

Free agent CB Mike Jenkins visited the Cardinals on Monday.

Draft Wire's Luke Easterling reports the two sides have agreed to terms on a contract. Jenkins appeared in 14 games for the Bucs last season, making five starts, but was part of the problem on the back end for Tampa Bay. This is his first-known visit since becoming a free agent back in March.

Bucs re-signed CB Mike Jenkins and SS Bradley McDougald.

McDougald was an exclusive rights free agent. 17 days shy of his 30th birthday, Jenkins was limited to just one game last season by a torn pectoral. Jenkins is only two years removed from starting 15 games for the Raiders, but will be far from assured of a spot on the Bucs' 53-man roster.

Bucs placed CB Mike Jenkins on injured reserve with a torn pectoral, ending his season.

Jenkins' short-lived run with the Bucs was a mess. He signed a one-year deal in March only to miss most of the preseason with a hamstring injury. And now he's done for the year after one game. Johnthan Banks and Leonard Johnson will fill the Nos. 2 and 3 cornerback spots behind No. 1 LCB Alterraun Verner.

Bucs CB Mike Jenkins will miss this weekend's third preseason game with a hamstring injury.

Jenkins hasn't practiced at all this week. He's yet to play a defensive snap this preseason, and his roster spot could be in danger. Jenkins figures to be competing for the No. 3 cornerback job behind Alterraun Verner and Johnthan Banks. The 29-year-old signed a one-year, $1.5 million deal in March.

Bucs signed CB Mike Jenkins, formerly of the Raiders, to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

Another $500,000 is available through incentives. Coming off a mediocre year for the Raiders, Jenkins will be the Bucs' No. 3 corner behind Alterraun Verner and Johnthan Banks, likely manning the slot. Two days shy of his 29th birthday, Jenkins hasn't been an effective player for a while now, but his talent is still worth gambling on. He could have a bounce-back year in what is shaping up as a mighty fine defense on paper.

Free agent CB Mike Jenkins is visiting the Cardinals.

At the onset of free agency, the Cardinals were the first team linked to Jenkins. After visiting Tampa Bay on Monday, he's making his way to the desert. Jenkins has plenty of starting experience and would be a solid No. 3 corner.

Free agent CB Mike Jenkins is visiting the Bucs Monday.

Jenkins played his college ball for the South Florida Bulls, and the Bucs are thin behind Alterraun Verner and Johnthan Banks. Jenkins, just 29 years old (on Saturday), would bring first-round talent and 63 NFL starts to the table.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports five teams are interested in free agent CB Mike Jenkins.

Jenkins' agent could just be drumming up interest. The soon-to-be 29-year-old started 15 games for the Raiders last season, notching two interceptions and six pass breakups. The Cardinals have been mentioned as a suitor.

Mike Jurecki of XTRA Phoenix is hearing the Cardinals "have interest" in free agent CB Mike Jenkins.

Jenkins has experience at both outside and inside corner and could replace Antoine Cason behind Patrick Peterson and Jerraud Powers. Jenkins hasn't had a truly good season in a while, but is under 30 and has never lacked talent.

The Raiders are not expected to re-sign free agent CB Mike Jenkins.

Jenkins was an every-down player at left corner this season, finishing with 65 tackles and two interceptions over 15 starts. With Tracy Porter also set to become a free agent, he'll likely have to accept a team-friendly deal to be brought back. Porter and D.J. Hayden are expected to be the Raiders' starting corners in 2014.

Raiders CB Mike Jenkins (concussion) is expected to be active for Thursday's game against the Cowboys.

Jenkins has been practicing in a limited fashion this week. The Raiders are racing both Jenkins and TE Mychal Rivera through the concussion protocol at an uncomfortably fast rate, especially considering the league-wide climate on concussions. Either way, they're both expected to be out there on the big stage.

Raiders CB Mike Jenkins sustained a concussion in Sunday's Week 12 loss to the Titans.

Jenkins has been an every-down player at left corner for the Raiders all season. Although he's struggled mightily in pass coverage, his likely absence on Thanksgiving is still good news for Tony Romo and company.

New Raiders CB Mike Jenkins has just one interception over his past 38 games.

He has only two picks since 2009. Unlike other frequent burn victims in the secondary, Jenkins isn't even smoothing things over with the occasional big play. Jenkins is penciled in as a starter in Oakland. For his part, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones insists Jenkins' Dallas tenure wasn't a failure. "We got starting time out of (him)," Jones bargained. "That’s not enough, but (he's not a bust)."

Raiders agreed to terms with CB Mike Jenkins, formerly of the Cowboys, on a one-year contract.

Jenkins, 28, was the 25th pick in the 2008 draft. He made the Pro Bowl in 2009 and his career has been spiraling downward ever since. Beset by shoulder injuries in 2011, Jenkins was demoted to dime back in Dallas last year, behind Mo Claiborne, Brandon Carr, and Orlando Scandrick. Pro Football Focus graded Jenkins as the 94th "best" cornerback out of 113 qualifiers. He's now projected to start opposite fellow frequent burn victim Tracy Porter in Oakland.
