Eagles declared CB Leodis McKelvin, TE Zach Ertz, WR Bryce Treggs, C Josh Andrews, OT Dillon Gordon, OT Halapouvaati Vaitai, and OG Isaac Seumalo inactive for Week 2 against the Bears.

McKelvin is the Eagles' de facto No. 1 corner but is out with a strained hamstring. Ron Brooks will start in base sets, but he'll cover the slot in sub-packages with seventh-round rookie Jalen Mills on the outside opposite Nolan Carroll. Veteran block-first TE Brent Celek will start in place of Ertz (ribs).
Sep 19 - 7:01 PM

Eagles CB Leodis McKelvin exited the Eagles' Week 1 win over the Browns with a hamstring strain.

Coach Doug Pederson said Monday the corner is week-to-week. With McKelvin likely to miss some time, promising rookie Jalen Mills should play a much bigger role moving forward.
Sep 12 - 12:06 PM

The Eagles view Leodis McKelvin as their top cornerback.

McKelvin worked as the Eagles’ No. 1 corner throughout the spring. He’s locked in as one of the outside starters after posting career bests under Jim Schwartz in 2014. Nolan Carroll and Ron Brooks are the favorites to bookend McKelvin.
Jul 6 - 5:41 PM

Eagles CB Leodis McKelvin is "virtually guaranteed" a starting job.

McKelvin isn't necessarily a bad player, but it's a reminder of the Eagles' continued cornerback weakness. Released by the Bills in March, McKelvin was not a hot item in unrestricted free agency, signing a modest two-year, $6.2 million deal to reunite with DC Jim Schwartz in Philadelphia. McKelvin earned negative marks across the board as a five-game starter in Buffalo last year.
Jun 13 - 3:54 PM

Eagles coach Doug Pederson said CB Leodis McKelvin has "stood out the most" during the offseason program.

Signed to a two-year deal in March after being released by the Bills, McKelvin has consistently earned praised for his work this offseason. He is a clear favorite to open the season in the starting lineup. Eric Rowe, Nolan Carroll and Ron Brooks will compete for the other starting job.
Jun 9 - 12:41 PM

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer expects Leodis McKelvin to be one of the Eagles' starting cornerbacks.

During OTAs, McKelvin has been lining up outside with Ron Brooks in the slot. The other boundary cornerback job will come down to Nolan Carroll and Eric Rowe. Carroll is recovering from a broken ankle while Rowe is still adjusting to new DC Jim Schwartz's scheme. McKelvin played for Schwartz in Buffalo. The Eagles should be vulnerable at both cornerback spots this season.
Jun 5 - 9:40 AM

Eagles signed CB Leodis McKelvin, formerly of the Bills, to a two-year, $6.2 million contract.

McKelvin was limited to sub-packages for the Bills down the stretch last season, and finished with just 404 snaps. Although he can play both inside and out, and the Eagles are completely remaking their secondary, McKelvin will probably be No. 3 or 4 on the depth chart for 2016. It's worth noting that he's reuniting with DC Jim Schwartz, who coordinated the Bills' defense in 2014. Injury limited McKelvin to 10 games and 551 snaps that season, though he picked off four passes.
Mar 8 - 3:28 PM

Free agent CB Leodis McKelvin is visiting the Eagles and Cowboys.

He's trekking to Philadelphia first. McKelvin was limited to reserve duties for much of 2015, but both the Eagles and Cowboys have holes in the secondary. Although he's going on 31, McKelvin could still have a major role in either city.
Mar 8 - 1:15 PM

Bills released CB Leodis McKelvin.

Another expected move out of Buffalo. The cap-strapped Bills save $3.9 million against the cap with McKelvin's release. The No. 11 overall pick of the 2008 draft, McKelvin spent his first eight years in Buffalo, but the 30-year-old was relegated to backup duties for much of last season. McKelvin hasn't played a full 16-game season since 2011. In a weak cornerback market, he shouldn't struggle for another chance.
Mar 4 - 12:31 PM

Bills DB Leodis McKelvin (illness) was back at practice Saturday.

He should be able to play Monday night. McKelvin has been playing as a sub-package corner since returning from the NFI list two weeks ago.

Bills activated DB Leodis McKelvin off the non-football injury list.

McKelvin will take Percy Harvin's roster spot after the receiver was placed on season-ending injured reserve Saturday. McKelvin has played corner his entire career, but the Bills are reportedly kicking around the idea of him filling in at safety. Rookie Ronald Darby has Wally Pipped McKelvin at corner.

Bills coach Rex Ryan said DB Leodis McKelvin (ankle, NFI) will be activated this week.

McKelvin has played corner exclusively in the NFL, but the emergence of rookie Ronald Darby has the Bills considering moving McKelvin to safety. Buffalo's safety corps is already missing Aaron Williams, and Corey Graham did not practice Monday.
Mon, Nov 2, 2015 01:17:00 PM

Bills CB Leodis McKelvin (ankle, NFI) resumed practicing Wednesday.

He's eligible to return at any time. By practicing Wednesday, it starts a 21-day clock where McKelvin will either have to be activated (highly likely) or shut down for the remainder of the season. With rookie Ronald Darby playing lights-out at left corner opposite Stephon Gilmore, McKelvin will be a sub-package player.

Bills LCB Leodis McKelvin (NFI, ankle) is expected to resume practicing next week.

McKelvin is eligible to return Week 7 against the Jaguars in London. He is expected to travel with the team to London, and he could be active for the game. It is unclear how big of a role McKelvin will have once returning. Second-round rookie Ronald Darby has played exceptionally in McKelvin's place.
