Earl Bennett expects to be used "all over the place" in the Bears offense.
"This offense, actually, it moves everybody around," Bennett said in a Wednesday radio interview. "So you're not just stuck in one spot. I won't be just primarily a slot guy. ... That's what I love about this offense: you never know where you're gonna be." The Bears are clearly opening things up one year after "OC" Mike Tice reined them in, but Bennett isn't a legitimate fantasy threat after watching his yardage total fall for the third straight year last season. Bennett's $2.25 million salary is steep for a player who's averaged 378 yards the past two seasons. May 15 - 3:27 PM

Earl Bennett had one of the best games of his career in Chicago's Week 17 win over the Lions, catching five passes for 109 yards and a touchdown.

The 100-yard game was Bennett's first since Week 13, 2010, and just the second of his five-year career. The 109 yards are a new career high. However, the big afternoon couldn't prevent Bennett from finishing with just 375 yards on the season, the lowest total since his rookie year. Amazingly, Bennett has now seen his yardage total drop in three consecutive seasons. Due a hefty $2.25 million in 2013, it's possible the Bears will ask Bennett to take a pay-cut.

Earl Bennett (concussion) is questionable for Week 16 after remaining limited in Friday's practice.

It's an indication he's yet to receive final clearance. Even if he does, Bennett should remain quarantined to the waiver wire in fantasy leagues.

Earl Bennett (concussion) was limited again in Thursday's practice.

Bennett is expected to return to the third receiver role this week. He's fantasy's No. 99 wide receiver this season, one spot ahead of Devin Hester.

Earl Bennett (concussion) returned to Bears practice Wednesday, getting in a limited session.

Bennett has sat out the past two weeks, but appears on track to play in Sunday's game against the Cardinals. If he does in fact suit up, Bennett should return to the slot. He remains well off the radar in all formats of fantasy.

Earl Bennett (concussion) is expected to return for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Bennett has been out since sustaining his concussion in Week 13. He'll return to his customary slot role while siphoning a few targets from Alshon Jeffery.

Earl Bennett (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 15 versus the Packers.

Consider the Bears slot receiver out indefinitely, as he's yet to pass concussion tests since sustaining the injury 11 days ago. Alshon Jeffery and Devin Hester will continue to pick up extra snaps opposite Brandon Marshall.

Earl Bennett has yet to pass his concussion tests.

He's looking shaky for Sunday's game against the Packers after missing Week 14. If Bennett can get cleared on either Thursday or Friday, he'll slot in as the Bears' No. 3 receiver behind Alshon Jeffery.

Earl Bennett (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 14 at Minnesota.

Devin Hester (concussion) and Alshon Jeffery (knee) both have a chance to return this week. Hester returned for the end of Thursday's practice after missing the first part to finish his concussion testing.

A source tells the Sun-Times that Earl Bennett (concussion) is not expected to play in Sunday's game against the Vikings.

He was held out of Wednesday's practice. Bennett lasted just 18 snaps against the Seahawks. If Alshon Jeffery (knee) can suit up this week, the Bears will lean on him as much as possible. Devin Hester is also nursing a concussion.

Bears WR Earl Bennett has been diagnosed with a concussion.

Bennett lasted just 18 snaps, leaving Eric Weems to pick up the slack opposite Brandon Marshall. The Bears could certainly use Alshon Jeffery (knee) back for Week 14. Devin Hester is also dealing with a concussion.

Earl Bennett was taken to the locker room to be evaluated for a concussion early in the third quarter of Sunday's Week 13 game versus Seattle.

He was declared done for the day after the evaluation. Bennett's most notable first-half play was a dropped bomb down the right sideline on a pinpoint vertical throw by Jay Cutler. Bennett did catch a 12-yard touchdown, however. The slot receiver's return to the game is questionable.
Sun, Dec 2, 2012 02:49:00 PM

Earl Bennett caught four balls for 45 yards in the Bears' Week 12 win over the Vikings.

Bennett secured all four of his targets on an efficient day for the Bears' slot receiver. Bennett can be a plus for Chicago's passing game when he's catching everything thrown his way, but he carries little to no fantasy value behind Brandon Marshall in a run-first Bears offense.

Earl Bennett got the "start" in Week 11 against the 49ers but caught just one pass for six yards.

Bennett just happened to start out of coincidence. He was targeted just twice on the night and is far from even sniffing fantasy relevance.
Tue, Nov 20, 2012 01:20:00 AM

Earl Bennett caught four passes for 22 yards in Chicago's Week 9 rout of the Titans.

As has become the norm, Brandon Marshall was the Bears' only consistent threat in the passing game. Bennett hasn't cleared 50 yards since Week 1. Jay Cutler's college buddy is averaging just 2.6 catches for 29.6 yards. He's yet to find the end zone.
