Panthers claimed CB Chevis Jackson off waivers from the Broncos.
Jackson appeared in just two games in 2010 as he bounced around between the Jaguars, Patriots and Broncos. He's likely little more than a camp body, even for the rebuilding Panthers. Sat, Aug 6, 2011 10:50:00 AM

Broncos waived CB Chevis Jackson.

A third-round pick in the 2008 draft, Jackson's career has quickly gone south after playing significant snaps his first two seasons with Atlanta. The 25-year-old no longer projects as more than a practice body at this stage.

Broncos claimed CB Chevis Jackson off waivers from the Patriots.

Jackson, 25, was a third-round pick in the 2008 draft. He'll help the Broncos on special teams if he makes the game-day roster down the stretch.

Patriots waived CB Chevis Jackson.

Jackson, who has been on the Pats' roster for less than two weeks, was let go to make room for CB Tony Carter, who is more familiar with New England's defensive schemes after serving on the practice squad for most of the season. The Patriots, whose 31st-ranked pass defense has struggled all year, may bring back Jackson at some point.

Patriots signed CB Chevis Jackson.

A third-round pick by the Falcons in 2008, Jackson spent a month with the Jags earlier in the season. He's played just one snap in one game this season.

Jaguars waived CB Chevis Jackson.

Jackson lasted a month on the roster, making no tackles in two appearances. The former LSU Tiger does not have practice squad eligibility remaining.

Jaguars signed CB Chevis Jackson, formerly of the Falcons.

It's a little surprising that Jackson was been on the street since the Falcons waived him on final cutdown day, but he's had plenty of workouts. The former third-round pick can certainly give the Jaguars' miserable corner duo of Derek Cox and David Jones some needed competition.

Titans worked out free agent CBs Chevis Jackson, Jacques Reeves, and Frank Walker in addition to LB Tyjuan Hagler.

The Titans are always on the lookout for cornerbacks with Rod Hood out for the season and the trio of Jason McCourty, Alterraun Verner, and Ryan Mouton lacking experience.

The Ravens reportedly worked out free agent CB Chevis Jackson on Tuesday.

If there's a cornerback with a solid pedigree available, chances are the Ravens will be interested. Considering Baltimore's depth issues, the 68th overall pick in the 2008 draft is at least worth a tire-kicking.

Falcons waived CB Chevis Jackson.

The Falcons admit that they made a mistake with their third-round pick in 2008. Jackson has struggled badly to get on the field and struggled to cover in open spaces. The solid tackler will surely get another chance.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution suggests CB Chevis Jackson is a candidate to be released this weekend.

The 68th overall pick in the 2008 draft has "struggled mightily to cover in space." Jackson is no better than fifth on the depth chart, and he doesn't even help on special teams. Chalk it up as a rare swing-and-miss for GM Thomas Dimitroff.

Second-year CB Chevis Jackson didn't play a single snap in the Falcons' season opener.

He's fallen behind new starting LCB Brian Williams, new nickel back Brent Grimes, and third-round rookie Christoper Owens. Jackson the 68th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, isn't even helping the Falcons on special teams.

Rookie Chevis Jackson will be Atlanta's starting nickel back this year.

This means Brent Grimes and Chris Houston will be the Falcons' first-team corners. Jackson is a solid tackler with good ball skills. If Grimes or Houston struggle (quite possible in both cases), Jackson would take over.

Falcons signed third-round CB Chevis Jackson to a four-year contract.

Jackson is behind Von Hutchins, Brent Grimes, who Atlanta feels is its best cover corner, and Chris Houston on the depth chart. The other candidates for nickel back are incumbent Antoine Harris and David Irons. The Falcons' secondary looks quite poor on paper. Keep it in mind for matchup purposes.

Falcons selected LSU defensive back Chevis Jackson with the No. 68 pick in the NFL Draft.

We thought he might end up in cover two, but Jackson is an instinctive football player who can really tackle. Atlanta certainly needs bodies at cornerback. Jackson will push to start opposite Chris Houston right away.
