Bills re-signed RB Tashard Choice.
Choice, 28, ran 47 times for 193 yards (4.11 YPC) and a touchdown last season, playing behind C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson. He brings little to the table in the backfield and on special teams, and will have to fight for a roster spot. Mar 29 - 7:43 PM

Tashard Choice rushed five times for 30 yards and a touchdown in Buffalo's Week 17 win over the Jets.

Commonly viewed as one of the more promising young runners in football during his 2008 rookie year, Choice has lost a lot of "juice" over the past four seasons. He wound up with 193 yards and the one score on 47 carries (4.11 YPC) in 2012, operating as a backup throughout the season. Choice doesn't contribute much, if anything, in the passing game, and was essentially on scholarship with the Bills under college coach Chan Gailey. Gailey is expected to be fired and Choice is an unrestricted free agent, a recipe that doesn't bode well for Choice's chances of staying in Buffalo.

Tashard Choice had one carry for negative-three yards in Week 16 against Miami.

Choice was a complete non-factor and wasn't used at all in the passing game. He'll continue to back-up C.J. Spiller in Week 17 against the Jets.

Tashard Choice rushed just one time for seven yards in the Bills' Week 15 loss to the Seahawks.

Coach Chan Gailey stayed true to his word as Choice only came on the field when C.J. Spiller asked out. Spiller ended up with 20 touches, just the second time he's reached the 20-touch mark this season.

Coach Chan Gailey said Tashard Choice is not a "great back" and therefore will not be siphoning a significant part of the backfield reps over the final three games.

There was some concern among C.J. Spiller owners that Choice would be stepping into Fred Jackson's role. That's not happening. "We're going to get the opportunity here in the next few weeks for [Spiller] to get it a lot and we won't have what I term two great backs," Gailey said. "I think Tashard is a very good back, but to me he's not in Fred's category. So there won't be a lot of sharing of duties. C.J. will have to take a big part of the load now." We can safely pencil Spiller in for 20-plus touches against the Seahawks this week.

Tashard Choice rushed for 14 yards on six carries and caught one pass for zero yards in the Bills' Week 11 win over the Dolphins.

Choice played some third downs as C.J. Spiller's back-up but was rather uninspiring on Thursday night. Choice will be the change-of-pace to Spiller for as long as Fred Jackson (concussion) is out. He's not worth a fantasy roster spot.

Bills RB Tashard Choice rushed two times for 14 yards and caught a one-yard pass in Buffalo's Week 4 loss to New England.

Choice is Buffalo's third-string tailback, and C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson were both active for this one despite being listed as "questionable" on the Week 4 injury report. Choice can be left on fantasy waiver wires.

Tashard Choice rushed 20 times for 91 yards and added two catches for eight yards in the Bills' Week 3 win over the Browns.

Choice was the clear feature back after C.J. Spiller's shoulder injury. He leaves yardage on the field, but runs hard and gets what is blocked. The Bills were already using him as a goal-line back. In this Chan Gailey offense, anyone starting at running back is going to at least have RB2 value. Spiller's (shoulder) status is unknown and Fred Jackson (knee) is questionable at best for Week 4. Choice is worth an add.

Tashard Choice rushed seven times for 50 yards in the Bills' third preseason game.

Choice is the looking like the clear-cut favorite to back up Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller. 2011 fifth-rounder Johnny White has been dealing with an ankle injury in training camp, and is squarely on the bubble. White appeared in 12 games last year, primarily on special teams, and is not eligible for the practice squad.

Bills re-signed RB Tashard Choice.

Choice broke the news himself on Twitter. Choice drew no known interest on the open market, and will have to compete with Johnny White for a roster spot after earning his walking papers from both the Cowboys and Redskins before arriving in Buffalo last season. He's averaged an anemic 3.2 yards on 123 carries the past two years, and contributed little in the passing game. Already 27, he's close to washing out of the league.

WGR 550 Buffalo does not expect the Bills to re-sign free agent Tashard Choice.

Waived by the Cowboys and Redskins before landing with the Bills last season, Choice managed just 152 yards on 51 carries over 13 games (2.98 yards per carry). It's not a good sign that Choice's college coach is giving up on him, as well. He'll represent little more than a depth signing on the open market.

Tashard Choice rushed one time for a 4-yard touchdown and added one catch for nine yards in the Week 17 loss to the Patriots.

Coach Chan Gailey continues to put unwarranted faith in his old college runner from Georgia Tech. Choice vultured a goal-line carry from C.J. Spiller and continued to play ahead of Johnny White. Perhaps Gailey should note that Choice was cut by two teams this year and averaged just 2.66 yards per carry on 57 totes in 2011. With Fred Jackson set to return in 2012, Choice should be looking for a new home in free agency.

Tashard Choice rushed five times for 15 yards and added three catches for 41 yards in the Bills' Week 15 loss to the Dolphins.

Choice got much more early-down work than usual, but he continues be wildly unproductive as a runner. Between his time with the Cowboys and his four games in Buffalo, he's gained just 114 yards on 41 carries. There's no upside here.
Sun, Dec 18, 2011 05:35:00 PM

Tashard Choice rushed five times for 20 yards and added a seven-yard reception in Sunday's loss to the Titans.

Choice, who was coached by Chan Gailey at Georgia Tech, was the clear backup to C.J. Spiller. Johnny White didn't even sniff the field. The problem is that Choice continues to show no ability to make anyone miss or move the pile. He's a weak handcuff to Spiller.
Sun, Dec 4, 2011 05:15:00 PM

Bills RB Tashard Choice carried twice for a net loss of eight yards in Week 12.

Choice's carries went for -5 and -3 yards. Johnny White and C.J. Spiller are both better running backs than Choice, so don't expect an impact here down the stretch. Choice is not worth owning in 12-team fantasy leagues.
