Cardinals released LBs Brandon Moore, Matt Stewart, Chris Harrington, and Joe Tafoya, DB Michael Adams, and DLs Jason Banks and Keilen Dykes.

Moore was beat out by Monty Beisel and undrafted rookie Ali Highsmith. Harrington is a developmental guy. He was a sixth-rounder in April.

Cardinals signed LB Brandon Moore to a one-year contract.

Moore was cut by the 49ers Monday when they signed Takeo Spikes. After beating out three other teams to sign him, the Cards will try Moore at inside linebacker. Coincidentally, Moore's brother, Rob, finished 1997 as the No. 1 ranked fantasy receiver after totaling 1,584 receiving yards for Arizona.

49ers released LB Brandon Moore.

This is likely the precursor to a Takeo Spikes signing. Moore was an impact player when he got in for the 49ers, but Mike Nolan never liked his style. The Patriots should think hard about adding Moore as competition for Tedy Bruschi next to rookie Jerod Mayo. He couldn't be worse than Eric Alexander.

49ers LB Brandon Moore is no longer being considered a potential starter at the inside "Ted" position.

Dontarrious Thomas is a strong bet to start there over Jeff Ulbrich and rookie Larry Grant, barring a Takeo Spikes signing. Moore will back up Patrick Willis at the "Mike" linebacker, which is the much more IDP-friendly position.

49ers LB Brandon Moore has lost his starting job to Patrick Willis.

Moore can play both inside and outside linebacker, so he'll still be a vital part of the Niners' defense, but is off the IDP radar until injuries strike.

Brandon Moore is the favorite to be San Francisco's starting strong-side inside linebacker this season.

That means Patrick Willis and Derek Smith are competing to occupy the weak inside spot. Willis is already penciled into the nickel defense and seems likely to overtake Smith's starting role before the start of the season.

After the 49ers drafted Patrick Willis with the No. 11 overall pick in the draft, the team will move Brandon Moore to the bench.

Moore injected life into a sluggish Niners defensive unit a year ago and should still see a good amount of action, especially if Derek Smith is slow to recover from eye surgery. Jeff Ulbrich's role is less certain.

The 49ers feel secure at inside linebacker for 2007.

Brandon Moore produced after taking over as a starter in Week 9 (8.3 stops-per-game, three sacks, two forced fumbles) and will start beside Derek Smith. The 9ers will focus on outside pass rushers this offseason.

The 49ers continued their defensive overhaul in Week 9, starting Brandon Moore at middle linebacker and Keith Lewis at free safety.

San Francisco, still using a 4-3, allowed just 133 yards Sunday after giving up 150 points in its last four games. Taking Jeff Ulbrich's place, Moore recorded 14 tackles and a sack. While the Niners' D should remain good for matchups, Moore has a chance for a huge second half.

49ers LB Brandon Moore (knee) returned to practice on Monday.

Moore has been moved to the inside, where he'll be a reserve. Rookies Parys Haralson and Manny Lawson may be San Francisco's starting outside linebackers in 2006. Corey Smith is another possibility at OLB.

49ers starting OLB Brandon Moore will miss at least a week with a knee injury.

San Francisco is very thin at outside linebacker. They will have to shift some positions or use an undrafted rookie as a starter in the meantime.

Brandon Moore and Manny Lawson are currently the 49ers' scheduled starting outside linebackers.

Mike Nolan says rookie Parys Haralson isn't far behind the veteran Moore. Lawson is being pushed by Corey Smith.

LB Brandon Moore is expected to return to a reserve role this season.

Moore came up with five sacks, 71 tackles, and an interception starting in place of an injured Jeff Ulbrich last season. The Niners seem to think Corey Smith would be a better option starting on the weak side.

LB Brandon Moore is being limited in 49ers OTAs with an injured hamstring.

Moore, a versatile veteran the Niners made a point to re-sign this offseason, is expected to at least compete for a starting spot.
