Redskins C Kory Lichtensteiger has accepted a $1.25 million pay cut, dropping his salary from $3.5 million to $2.25 million.
The 31-year-old has two years left on his deal and was likely on the chopping block if he didn't accept the slash in pay. The Redskins have been trying to find his replacement, acquiring ex-Patriots C Bryan Stork only to see him fail his physical. Spencer Long and Josh LeRibeus have also been tried at center. Redskins activated C Kory Lichtensteiger (neck) from injured reserve/designated to return.

C Brian De La Puente has been waived in a corresponding roster move. It's unclear if Lichtensteiger will start this weekend's Wild Card game. He was ineffective before going down in Week 5, though Josh LeRibeus was scarcely better in his place. With their most important game of the season coming up, the Redskins will likely stick with LeRibeus and his 11 straight starts.

Redskins placed C Kory Lichtensteiger on injured reserve/designated to return with a pinched nerve in his neck.

C Brian De La Puente has been signed in a corresponding roster move. Lichtensteiger hasn't played since Week 5. His season is effectively over since the Redskins have little shot at a playoff berth. Josh LeRibeus will continue to man the pivot in Lichtensteiger's absence. Now 30, Lichtensteiger is signed through 2017, but will be a leading candidate for release in the offseason. He was really struggling before getting injured.

Redskins C Kory Lichtensteiger (shoulder/neck/finger) has been ruled out for Week 6 against the Jets.

The Jets' fantasy defense gets a juicy Week 6 matchup against interception-prone Kirk Cousins, who will be without his starting center and starting LT Trent Williams (concussion).

Kory Lichtensteiger has been moved from left guard to center.

Newly signed Shawn Lauvao will start at left guard and Lichtensteiger takes over at center for Will Montgomery. It's an upgrade. Lichtensteiger, who is putting on weight as he prepares for new coach Jon Gruden's power scheme, was a center in college and says he feels most comfortable there.

The Washington Post believes LG Kory Lichtensteiger "could have trouble" if the Redskins switch to a power-blocking scheme under new coach Jay Gruden.

Lichtensteiger is awfully undersized at 6-foot-2, 284 and would have to put on significant weight to make the switch from a zone-blocking scheme. The Post wonders if the Redskins may ask him to move to center. Lichtensteiger inked a five-year, $17.5 million deal with Washington last March. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 33 guard out of 81 qualifiers in 2013.

Redskins LG Kory Lichtensteiger (knee, ankle) is 100 percent healthy.

Lichtensteiger started all 16 games last season, but he was coming back from a torn ACL and MCL while also dealing with a high-ankle sprain at the end of the year. The 28-year-old says the knee never felt completely right in 2012, but he played well enough to earn a five-year contract last month.

Redskins agreed to terms with LG Kory Lichtensteiger on a five-year contract.

28-year-old Lichtensteiger was among the least effective left guards in football last season, but was coming back from a torn right ACL and MCL. While the Redskins expect him to be better in 2013, he'll have to hold off Josh LeRibeus.

Free agent LG Kory Lichtensteiger would welcome a return to the Redskins.

Lichtensteiger started all 17 games in 2012. Coach Mike Shanahan recently called him the team's best run blocker, but Pro Football Focus graded Lichtensteiger out as 81-of-81 among qualifying guards in the category. Washington has 2012 third-rounder Josh LeRibeus ready to step in at left guard.

Redskins LG Kory Lichtensteiger revealed that his sprain was of the high-ankle variety.

Lichtensteiger expects the injury to heal in a month without surgery. Best suited to a zone-blocking scheme, the impending free agent hopes to re-sign with the Redskins.

Redskins LG Kory Lichtensteiger (ankle) and SS DeJon Gomes (knee) are active for Sunday's Wild Card round matchup with the Seahawks.

Touch-and-go all week, Lichtensteiger wasn't cleared until passing pregame tests on Sunday. Gomes is returning from a Grade 2 MCL sprain sustained in Week 16. Redskins inactives: QB Rex Grossman, WR Brandon Banks, WR Dez Briscoe, LB Roddrick Muckelroy, LB Vic So'oto, OT Tom Compton and OG Adam Gettis.

Redskins LG Kory Lichtensteiger left the stadium in a walking boot after sustaining an ankle injury in Sunday night's win.

Rookie third-rounder Josh LeRibeus replaced him in the third quarter. Lichtensteiger downplayed the injury, suggesting he will return to play versus the Seahawks. "I'm feeling all right," Lichtensteiger said. "I think with a week of treatment, take it easy for the next couple days I'll be all right."

Redskins LG Kory Lichtensteiger (knee surgery) expects to be ready for Week 1.

"I don’t know for sure, but definitely by (the) regular season," Lichtensteiger said. "They’re just going to see how I feel and go by that. That’s what I’m trying to do. It feels good right now." Lichtensteiger won't play in the preseason. Maurice Hurt will start at left guard if Lichtensteiger isn't ready for Week 1.

Redskins LG Kory Lichtensteiger says he feels "OK" one week after undergoing a clean-up procedure on his troublesome right knee.

"It feels better than any other surgery I’ve ever had. I guess that means it’s nice and minor. I feel like everything is going good." Lichtensteiger said. "The prognosis is good. They expect me to be back out. That’s the encouraging thing for me." Maurice Hurt is filling in at left guard in Lichtensteiger's absence, and very well could find himself there in Week 1.
