Bengals placed G/C Mike Pollak (knee) on the active/PUP list.
Pollak avoided PUP when the Bengals put nine on the list Monday, leading many to believe Pollak was recovered from his knee issue. It doesn't appear that way. We'll consider Pollak week-to-week. The more time he misses, the more opportunities rookie Russell Bodine will get as the starting center. Jul 22 - 3:38 PM

Bengals G/C Mike Pollak (knee) is 100 percent for training camp.

Pollak's spring absence was described as "rest." He's expected to beat out fourth-round C Russell Bodine for starting duties in the middle. Pollak has missed 22 games over the past two seasons, so his health is a major question mark.
Jul 21 - 4:31 PM

Bengals G/C Mike Pollak (knee) said he hopes to be 100 percent at the start of training camp.

Pollak is sitting out OTAs with a knee issue. The missed time has allowed rookie Russel Bodine to get the majority of first-team snaps at center, but Pollak remains the favorite to start. Pollak has missed 22 games the past two years due to injuries, so his ability to stay healthy for a full season is a concern.

Bengals G/C Mike Pollak is missing time with a knee injury this spring.

According to Bengals.com, the issue isn't serious, but Pollak is "going to get some rest this spring." Pollak is penciled in as the Bengals' starting center after starting five games at right guard last season.

Mike Pollak is expected to be Bengals' starting center.

Kyle Cook was Cincinnati's center last season but was average as a pass blocker and got pushed around in the run game. Pollak made five starts at right guard in 2013 and can play all over the interior line. He's a good pass protector but has missed 22 games the past two years. Pollak will face competition from fourth-rounder Russell Bodine, but Pollak is viewed as the favorite.

Bengals re-signed OG Mike Pollak to a three-year, $5 million contract.

Pollak, 29, can earn up to $7.5 million over the life of the deal by becoming a starter. The 2008 second-rounder appeared in eight games last season, starting five. The former Colt was surprisingly effective after a shoulder injury limited him to just one game in 2012. Pollak could open 2014 as a starter if LG Clint Boling isn't recovered from his torn ACL.
Mar 6 - 7:11 PM

Bengals agreed to terms with G/C Mike Pollak, formerly of the Panthers.

The former second-round pick was limited to one game by a shoulder injury last season. He made 41 starts for Peyton Manning's Colts between 2008-11, but was benched twice. Pollak will provide depth for a Bengals team that's already set at guard.

Free agent G/C Mike Pollak worked out for the Bengals Wednesday.

Pollak appeared in just one game for the Panthers last year thanks to a shoulder injury. The 2008 second-round pick of the Colts brings versatile depth and 41 career starts to the table.

Panthers placed G/C Mike Pollak (shoulder) on season-ending injured reserve.

Pollak has been out since Week 1. The former second-rounder was signed in the offseason after starting 41 games for the Colts from 2008-11. Pollak was an interior line backup and is a free agent after the season. CB Ron Parker was signed off the practice squad earlier on Saturday to fill the roster spot.

Panthers signed G/C Mike Pollak, formerly of the Colts.

The 2008 second-rounder has started 41 of 58 games the past four years, losing his job to former Arena Leaguer Kyle DeVan in 2009 and Jeff Linkenbach at mid-season last year. Pollak has been adequate as a pass blocker but ineffective as a run blocker in his four-year career. He could compete for the left guard vacancy created by Travelle Wharton's release.

Mike Pollak replaced Jeff Linkenbach as the Colts' starting right guard in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys.

Pollak started the first eight games of the season before losing his job to Linkenbach. Clearly, neither one is impressing. The Colts are averaging just 3.5 yards per carry this season, dead last in the NFL.

Mike Pollak has taken over as the Colts' starting right guard.

The 2008 second-rounder lost his job to former Arena Leaguer Kyle DeVan last year, due in large part to knee injuries. Now healthy, the more athletic Pollak has regained the job from DeVan.

Mike Pollak and Tony Ugoh are the favorites to start at guard for the Colts this season.

Pollak is slated to replace Kyle DeVan at right guard, while the athletic Ugoh is the favorite to take over for displaced LG Ryan Lilja. Pollak has 20 starts in his first two seasons. Ugoh should improve the interior pass protection.

The Colts have begun to work Kyle DeVan into a rotation with Mike Pollak at right guard.

It doesn't say much for last year's second-rounder Pollak that he's losing time to a player signed off the Boise Burn of Arena Football2 this past offseason.
Mon, Sep 28, 2009 12:02:00 PM

Colts RG Mike Pollak (ankle) and G/C Jamey Richard (ankle) have been ruled out for Saturday's game.

Dan Federkeil will start in Pollak's place, which doesn't bode well for the Colts rushing attack.
