Jacob Hester rushed eight times for 11 yards in Denver's Divisional Round loss to the Ravens, adding one catch for seven yards.
Signed off the street on November 26, Hester was a black hole for the Broncos in a win-or-go-home game, but was thrust into a big role after Knowshon Moreno departed with a knee injury. With rookie Ronnie Hillman still incapable of holding his own in pass protection, Hester was in for most every third down. Hester is signed for $715,000 next season, but is far from assured of a roster spot. Jan 12 - 9:59 PM

Jacob Hester rushed seven times for 20 yards with a touchdown in the Broncos' Week 15 win over the Ravens.

The Broncos lined up for a first-and-goal from the three-inch line in a split-I formation. The handoff went to Hester from the fullback spot and he got in with ease. The versatile lead-blocker will get a few more short-yardage chances against the Browns next week.

Broncos signed RB Jacob Hester.

A long-time Chargers fullback, Hester will be fourth on the totem pole behind Knowshon Moreno, Ronnie Hillman and Lance Ball. Although he could help in pass protection and as a blocker, Hester will likely be limited to special teams on game days for the time being.

In addition to Steve Slaton, the Broncos worked out free agent Jacob Hester this week.

The Denver beat writers seem to believe Hester has a better chance of being signed that Slaton. If the Broncos do sign a veteran back, he's not going to stumble onto fantasy value as the fourth man on the totem pole.

Chargers waived or released FB Jacob Hester, RB Edwin Baker, K Nick Novak, OTs Mario Henderson, Stephen Schilling and Anthony Davis, LBs Bront Bird, Ricky Elmore and Daryl Gamble, DTs Charlie Bryant and Damik Scafe, DBs Gregory Gatson, De'Andre Presley and Arthur Hobbs, DE Logan Harrell, P Robert Malone, WR Mike Willie and TE Kory Sperry.

Hester had been one of the Chargers' special teams aces since 2008. A seventh-round pick, it's a bit surprising Baker couldn't crack the roster with Ryan Mathews sidelined to begin the season, but he should be stashed on the practice squad. A blocking specialist, Sperry appeared in all 16 games in 2011.

Chargers FB Jacob Hester (shoulder) has been cleared to resume practicing.

Hester sustained a shoulder injury on the final day of minicamp last month. After five weeks of rest and rehab, "all the soreness" is out. Hester expects to be a full participant throughout camp.

Chargers FB Jacob Hester was spotted with his arm in a sling after suffering a shoulder injury in Thursday's minicamp session.

Coach Norv Turner said Hester will be "evaluated," but it's possible his status won't be updated before camp. The addition of Le'Ron McClain should limit Hester to special teams this season.

Chargers re-signed FB Jacob Hester to a one-year contract.

Hester drew some interest from the Seahawks in free agency, but will return to San Diego. While the 27-year-old hasn't been worth what the Chargers surrendered to trade up for him as the 69th pick in the 2008 draft, he can play a variety of roles on offense as well as run down kicks on special teams.

The Chargers will reportedly take their offer off the table if free agent FB Jacob Hester does not accept it by Monday.

Hard-line GM A.J. Smith is also taking the same approach with free agent OT Mario Henderson. Hester will likely have a pair of offers to consider after visiting the Seahawks on Wednesday. The versatile fullback said he has turned invitations to visit multiple teams.

The Seahawks hosted free agent FB Jacob Hester on Wednesday.

Hester can lead block, carry the football on short-yardage downs, and cover kicks on special teams, but he's drawn surprisingly little interest on the free agent market. He'd be the No. 2 fullback behind Michael Robinson in Seattle.

The Chargers would still like to bring back free agent FB Jacob Hester despite Wednesday's signing of Le'Ron McClain.

If Hester returns, it will be as a special teamer now. He was the third back behind Ryan Mathews and Mike Tolbert last season.

In addition to C Nick Hardwick and LT Jared Gaither, the Chargers have opened negotiations with FB Jacob Hester.

The Bolts seem resigned to losing Mike Tolbert to a higher bidder, leaving Hester as a priority at fullback. Depending on the team's moves over the next couple of months, Hester could take on some of Tolbert's responsibilities in short-yardage and in the passing game.

Jacob Hester rushed 11 times for 47 yards and added two catches for 13 yards in Sunday's win over the Broncos.

With Ryan Mathews (calf) and Mike Tolbert (concussion) both leaving the game, Hester took over as the feature back. He's just a plodding short-yardage back though, so today's line is the ceiling. And with the Chargers on a bye next week, we'd expect Hester to return to his fullback role in Week 7.

Jacob Hester had three carries for seven yards and added two grabs for nine yards and a touchdown in Monday's Week 11 win over Denver.

Hester played exclusively in garbage time and served as a blocker. He's clearly been surpassed by Mike Tolbert, and should not be owned in any formats.

Charger FB Jacob Hester (probable, foot) practiced fully without restrictions on Friday.

Hester is locked into a timeshare with Mike Tolbert, and neither fullback is a fantasy option. However, Hester's presence will help to open holes for RB Ryan Mathews, whom we have ranked as the No. 11 back against Jacksonville in Week 2.
