Steelers waived OL Tony Hills, CB Crezdon Butler, P Jeremy Kapinos, and DE Jarrett Crittenton.

Hills and Butler are the two surprises. Hills was moved inside to right guard early in camp, only to lose the starting job to Doug Leguarsky. Last year's fifth-rounder, Butler was unable to push veteran Bryant McFadden off the roster.

Tony Hills has lost the starting right guard job to Doug Legursky.

After struggling in the third preseason game, the Steelers decided that Hills wasn't ready to convert to guard. The former tackle will now provide depth, with veteran C/G Legursky stepping in. Legursky, 6'1/315, is small for a guard but is well-versed in the Steelers' scheme.

The Steelers have moved OT Tony Hills inside to right guard.

Hills held his own at left tackle in the preseason opener, but the Steelers believe he's better suited for inside work. Hills was immediately inserted into the lineup Sunday and will likely push 2010 starter Ramon Foster for the starting job. The front office remains open to bringing back veteran Flozell Adams at left tackle.

Steelers agreed to terms with fourth-round pick Tony Hills on a three-year deal, according to Scout.com.

The deal is reportedly worth $1.45 million with a $304,500 signing bonus. Hills battled injuries throughout his time at Texas, but he has great feet at the base of his 6'6" frame. He was recruited out of high school as a tight end.
