Eddie Royal caught 7-of-10 targets for 54 yards and a touchdown Week 4 against the Raiders.
Royal's touchdown came on a quick screen on the first drive of the game, and he was inches away from a second score late in the second quarter. After four games, Royal is on pace for 72 catches for 480 yards and four touchdowns. Even with Alshon Jeffery coming back, Royal should be able to easily surpass the yardage total. Oct 4 - 6:51 PM

Eddie Royal delivered three catches for 17 yards on three targets in the Bears' Week 3 loss to the Seahawks.

Alshon Jeffery’s calf injury should have been a big opportunity for Royal. Instead, he’s totaled just 58 yards over his last two games and hasn't come close to scoring a touchdown. The disappointing slot receiver will try to rebound next week against the Raiders.

Eddie Royal (back, hip) is active for Week 3 against the Seahawks.

Royal earned eight targets last week and could be in for a similar workload with top receiver Alshon Jeffery (calf) out for the second game in a row. With that said, we don't like his odds against Seattle's famously stout secondary. Royal is little more than a dart throw WR4.
Sep 27 - 3:24 PM

Eddie Royal (back, hip) is listed as questionable for Week 3.

Despite the questionable tag, Royal practiced on a limited basis and is expected to play. Royal should see increased targets with Alshon Jeffery out, but isn't more than a WR4 against Seattle's secondary.
Sep 25 - 6:24 PM

Eddie Royal (back, hip) returned to Bears practice Thursday, getting in a limited session.

Royal will be fine for Sunday's game in Seattle. With Jay Cutler sidelined and Jimmy Clausen battling the "Legion of Boom," Royal is on the WR4 borderline.
Sep 24 - 5:37 PM

Eddie Royal (hip) did not practice Wednesday.

It's been the routine for Royal, who is still nursing a hip ailment. It shouldn't keep him out of Week 3 against the Seahawks. He, Marquess Wilson, and Josh Bellamy are likely to handle receiver duties with Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) appearing doubtful to play. Royal is coming off a seven-catch, 41-yard game.
Sep 23 - 3:05 PM

Eddie Royal caught 7-of-8 targets for 41 yards in Chicago's Week 2 loss to the Cardinals.

It was an empty day for Royal, whose longest grab went for 15 yards. Any shot he had at a big afternoon evaporated when Jay Cutler injured his hamstring late in the first half. Royal will remain on the WR4/5 radar if Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) misses next week's game against the Seahawks, but is more of a fill-in type in standard leagues. He's stronger in PPR formats.
Sep 20 - 6:07 PM

Bears WR Eddie Royal (hip) practiced in full on Wednesday.

Royal was limited in practice last week but played on Sunday. He only managed one catch on five targets, but he was targeted twice near the goal line. He is a WR4 this week against the Cardinals.

Sep 17 - 11:06 AM

Eddie Royal caught 1-of-5 targets for eight yards in the Bears' Week 1 loss to the Packers.

He slid in as the No. 4 option in the passing game behind Alshon Jeffery (11 targets), Matt Forte (8), and Martellus Bennett (7). Royal was targeted once in the end zone, but Jay Cutler was hurried on the play, not giving it enough time to develop. Royal also briefly left the game while being evaluated for a concussion late in the first half. He'll be on the WR4 radar Week 2 against the Cardinals.
Sep 13 - 5:24 PM

Eddie Royal (hip) is active for Week 1 against the Packers.

As expected, all three of Royal, Alshon Jeffery (calf), and Marquess Wilson (hamstring) are active. Royal should start opposite Jeffery. We'd like him a lot better if Jeffery were out, but Royal has some WR3 appeal in a game the Bears will likely be trailing and having to throw the ball. Jay Cutler loves Royal.
Sep 13 - 11:40 AM

Eddie Royal (hip) is listed as questionable for Week 1.

A hip injury has limited Royal at practice this week but coach John Fox doesn't think he's in any real danger of missing Sunday's opener. The slot receiver has quietly scored 15 touchdowns over his last two seasons. While Alshon Jeffery remains the focal point of Chicago's passing game, Royal should still get enough targets to warrant PPR consideration.
Sep 11 - 1:29 PM

Eddie Royal (hip) remained limited on Thursday.

The Bears are becoming one of "those" teams with the injury report, over-listing and under-explaining. There's been zero indication Royal is in danger of missing Sunday's opener against the Packers, where he'll be on the WR3 periphery.
Sep 10 - 4:52 PM

Eddie Royal (hip) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Royal has been battling the hip issue for a couple weeks now but should be fine for Week 1 against the Packers. He's on the WR3 map with Kevin White (shin) out and Alshon Jeffery (calf) at less than 100 percent.
Sep 9 - 3:54 PM

Bears WR Eddie Royal (hip) participated in practice Monday.

He appears on track to play Week 1. With Alshon Jeffery (calf) questionable at best, Royal could be Chicago's No. 1 receiver.
Sep 7 - 12:30 PM

ESPN Bears reporter Jeff Dickerson said Eddie Royal (hip) appears to be making "significant progress" in his recovery.

The Bears have been guarding injury information like it is the secret ingredient in Coke, but it appears Royal will be good to go for Week 1. The situation is even murkier around Alshon Jeffery (calf). If Jeffery cannot play against the Packers, Royal would be a great DFS play.
