Eddie Royal (toe) has been ruled out for Week 7 against the Packers.
Royal injured his toe last week, and the short week was simply too much to overcome. Alshon Jeffery, Cameron Meredith, and Zach Miller should dominate the targets for Chicago. Royal will look to return Week 8. Daily Slant: Cameron Meredith has been excellent since becoming a regular in the Bears lineup, and his heavy usage isn't expected to drop off. He and Kevin White never really saw the field at the same time, and if you totaled up their targets on the year (71), they'd be the most heavily targeted WR in the league (Antonio Brown and T.Y. Hilton are tied at 64). Meredith is still far under-priced on some DFS outlets, and should be targeted at will in those situations. Alshon Jeffery is also squarely in play - he saw by far his highest target total of the season in Chicago's Week 6 contest (13). Oct 19 - 4:04 PM

Eddie Royal (toe) remained sidelined Tuesday.

The always-injured Royal has little chance of suiting up on a short week. His absence leaves more targets for Cameron Meredith and Zach Miller.

Eddie Royal (toe) did not practice Monday.

The Bears didn't actually practice, and this is simply an estimation. After entering Week 6 with a calf problem, Royal suffered the toe injury against the Jaguars. Consider him no better than 50-50 to play Thursday night.
Oct 17 - 6:37 PM

Eddie Royal (toe) suffered a toe injury in Chicago's Week 6 game against the Jaguars, and will not return.

Royal corralled 4-of-6 targets for 54 yards before going down. Already battling a calf issue, 30-year-old Royal is extremely injury prone. We'd consider him highly questionable for Week 7, creating further opportunity for Cameron Meredith.
Oct 16 - 3:47 PM

Eddie Royal (calf) is active for Week 6 against the Jaguars.

As is Zach Miller (ribs). With Cameron Meredith coming on in the Bears' offense, Royal is just a low-end WR4. Standard league players need to be doing better. Inactive for the Bears are QB Jay Cutler, OLB Leonard Floyd, NT Eddie Goldman, DB Deiondre' Hall, S DeAndre Houston-Carson, OL Eric Kush and RB Jeremy Langford.
Oct 16 - 11:34 AM

Eddie Royal (calf) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

Royal suited up for Week 5 after not practicing and appears set to do the same. With Cameron Meredith coming on in the Bears' receiver corps, Royal is a last-gasp WR4.
Oct 13 - 2:42 PM

Eddie Royal (calf) did not practice Wednesday.

Royal missed the entire practice week last week before ultimately playing against the Colts. He caught seven passes in the loss and should be able to give it a go at home this week against the Jaguars.
Oct 12 - 2:33 PM

Eddie Royal caught 7-of-9 targets for 43 yards in Week 5.

Royal didn't practice all week, but played through his calf injury. He looked close to fully healthy. Royal took a backseat to Cameron Meredith and will remain Chicago's No. 3 receiver with Kevin White sidelined. He isn't worth rostering in redraft leagues.
Oct 9 - 5:24 PM

Eddie Royal (calf) is active for Week 5 against the Colts.

It's a surprise after Royal didn't practice all week. Royal is coming off a 7/111/1 line, but shouldn't be trusted in fantasy lineups at less than full health. Alshon Jeffery and Zach Miller are the favorites to lead Chicago in targets.
Oct 9 - 11:47 AM

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Eddie Royal (calf) will be a game-time decision against the Colts in Week 5.

Alshon Jeffery (knee), Zach Miller (ribs) and Ka'Deem Carey (hamstring) have all been cleared to play but Royal's status remains in question. Coming off his first 100-yard game in two weeks, it would be a missed opportunity for Royal if he can't suit up this week. He should be in line for a big workload with Kevin White (ankle, leg) sidelined indefinitely.
Oct 9 - 8:19 AM

Bears coach John Fox indicated Eddie Royal (calf, questionable) could be a game-time decision against the Colts despite not practicing all week.

Players who don't practice all week almost never play on Sundays, but Fox is leaving the door open for Royal to buck that trend. "We don't have a 'no practice, no play' policy," Fox said. "It's just a matter of if we deem we're better with him than without him; we'll make that judgment. We have up to an hour-and-a-half before kickoff." We are guessing Royal will not play. Daily Slant: If Royal isn't able to go, Cameron Meredith would take over as the potential DFS punt play on the Chicago side. The Bears would basically be down to Meredith and Alshon Jeffery at WR with Zach Miller also likely to see an uptick in targets. Meredith has seen just eight targets on the season, but could very well match that total on Sunday. Vontae Davis will likely be charged with tracking Alshon Jeffery, which should make Meredith a popular target for Brian Hoyer.
Oct 7 - 2:39 PM

Eddie Royal (calf) missed Bears practice again on Friday and is listed as questionable for Week 5 at Indianapolis.

The fact that Royal didn't get in any practice time this week suggests he isn't going to play against the Colts. That would elevate Cameron Meredith into the starting lineup opposite Alshon Jeffery, who has been ineffective while battling nagging injuries. Meredith is very much in play as a Week 5 fantasy start. Zach Miller should also be set up for heavy usage.
Oct 7 - 1:28 PM

Eddie Royal (calf) remained sidelined Thursday.

Royal has a golden opportunity with Kevin White on injured reserve, but is predictably already injured himself. Royal has had a whale of a time staying healthy as a Bear. If he misses Sunday's game against the Colts, Alshon Jeffery is going to have a trio of sub-replacement level players behind him.
Oct 6 - 2:29 PM

Eddie Royal (calf) is not practicing Wednesday.

Royal had a monster Week 4 against the Lions, catching 7-of-7 targets for 111 yards and a score. With Kevin White (ankle) on I.R., he's going to be asked to do a bit more. We should have a better feel for Royal on Thursday.
Oct 5 - 2:39 PM

Eddie Royal caught 7-of-7 targets for 111 yards and one touchdown in the Bears' Week 4 win over the Lions.

Royal got the scoring started with a four-yard touchdown in the first quarter. He later got loose for a 64-yard gain in the second half. Healthy after an injury-riddled 2015 season, Royal has a real role as the Bears' slot man. With the Bears spreading the ball around pretty evenly, Royal is worth a look in deeper PPR leagues. Most weeks, he figures to be in the 4-50 or 5-60 range on a handful of targets.
