Eddie Royal (knee) has been ruled out for Week 11.

If Alshon Jeffery (shoulder, groin) also can't play against the Broncos, the Bears will start Marquess Wilson at wide receiver and use some combination of Josh Bellamy, Marc Mariani, and Cameron Meredith behind him.
Nov 20 - 2:17 PM

Eddie Royal (knee) remained sidelined at Thursday's practice.

It doesn't look like he's going to play Sunday against Denver. Royal has averaged just 28.5 receiving yards per game this year. He's week to week.
Nov 19 - 2:39 PM

Eddie Royal (knee) did not practice Wednesday.

Royal has missed the last two games and remains week to week. Marquess Wilson will start opposite Alshon Jeffery for however long Royal's sidelined.
Nov 18 - 5:50 PM

Eddie Royal (knee) remained sidelined at Friday's practice and is out for Week 10 against the Rams.

This will be his second absence in a row. Royal was expected to play a pivotal role as the Bears' slot receiver this year but has so far been limited to just 171 receiving yards across six games. His absence will open up more looks for Marquess Wilson and Martellus Bennett.
Nov 13 - 1:17 PM

Eddie Royal (knee) remained sidelined Thursday.

Anything is possible with secretive coach John Fox, but Royal appears all but certain to miss his second straight game. With Alshon Jeffery (groin) suddenly questionable, the Bears may have to lean on Marquess Wilson hard in St. Louis.
Nov 12 - 2:42 PM

Eddie Royal (knee) did not practice Wednesday.

The Bears haven't provided details on Royal's status, but a multi-week absence is expected. Marquess Wilson will start for however long Royal is sidelined.
Nov 11 - 6:22 PM

Bears declared WR Eddie Royal (knee), RB Matt Forte (knee), S Harold Jones-Quartey, ILB Shea McClellin (knee), C Hroniss Grassu, OT Tayo Fabuluje, and DT Ziggy Hood inactive for Week 9 against the Chargers.

Marquess Wilson and Jeremy Langford will get the starts in place of Royal and Forte, respectively. OLB Pernell McPhee (knee) is active.
Nov 9 - 7:11 PM

Eddie Royal (knee) was ruled out for Week 9 against the Chargers.

Marquess Wilson should start and serve as the No. 3 passing option with Matt Forte (knee) also sidelined. The tight-lipped Bears have yet to update Royal's status. He should be considered week to week.
Nov 7 - 1:30 PM

Eddie Royal (knee) missed Bears practice on Friday.

Look for Marquess Wilson to start against the Chargers.
Nov 6 - 2:27 PM

Eddie Royal (knee) isn't practicing ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Poor-mind-game-player John Fox has issued zero comment on Royal's Week 9 status, but he can safely be considered out. Marquess Wilson will start in his place, and is on the WR4 radar. He'll be an exceedingly-cheap No. 3 receiver in DFS formats.
Nov 5 - 2:31 PM

Bears coach John Fox believes Eddie Royal (knee) won't require surgery.

It was the only vaguely-useful piece of information Fox offered up on his No. 2 receiver. Until someone inside the team leaks an update to a national reporter, we can only assume Royal is week to week with a sprain. He'll almost certainly miss next Monday's game against the Chargers, leaving Marquess Wilson for No. 2 duties.
Nov 2 - 2:43 PM

Eddie Royal left Sunday's Week 8 game against the Vikings with a knee injury.

Royal had three catches for just two yards before exiting. He was officially ruled out for the remainder of the game in the second half.
Nov 1 - 2:15 PM

Eddie Royal caught 5-of-7 targets for 49 yards Week 6 against the Lions.

Royal saw at least three targets in the red zone, but he was unable to convert any into touchdowns. The Bears appear committed to using Royal on screens and short passes near the end zone, and as long as that continues he will be a touchdown threat every week. Royal will be a WR4 with upside following the Bears' Week 7 bye.
Oct 18 - 6:22 PM

Eddie Royal (ankle) is active for Week 6 against the Lions.

Royal gets a great matchup with the Lions, but with Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) and Martellus Bennett (quad) active, his share of the targets should be small. He is a WR5 at best. Chicago declared LB Shea McClellin, CB Terrance Mitchell, S Antrel Rolle, LT Jermon Bushrod, RB Antone Smith, DL Bruce Gaston and OL Nick Becton inactive for Week 6.
