Royal and Robert Meachem were signed to multi-year contracts last spring, and both were colossal busts in 2012. Royal was always battling a hamstring injury, and he finished the season with just 23 grabs for 234 yards and a touchdown in ten games played. Eddie Royal caught four passes for 61 yards in the Chargers' Week 17 win over the Raiders.

The Chargers stuck with Royal to the bitter end, insisting on lining him up outside opposite Danario Alexander. Unfortunately, the four catches and 61 yards in this meaningless game were both season-highs. Expect the next Chargers' coach to correctly identify Royal as a situational slot receiver, not a featured player.

The Union-Tribune San Diego reported Thursday that Royal was unlikely to suit up for Week 15, but this gives him a 50-50 chance to play against the Panthers. Regardless, he's miles away from fantasy relevance.

Royal was limited to individual work during Wednesday's practice and is targeting a Week 16 return. The Chargers are likely fine with that after Michael Spurlock excelled out of the slot in last week's stunning win at Pittsburgh, racking up a 7/64/0 line on seven targets.

Just in time for the Chargers' "playoff push." He was officially limited on Wednesday. It's Royal's first practice of any kind since aggravating his hamstring injury in Week 11. Royal remains well off the radar across all formats of fantasy.

Royal has been battling injuries throughout his first season as a Charger. Butler suffered a significant groin injury in Week 12 and will be replaced by Jonas Mouton at inside linebacker against Cincinnati.

Eddie Royal (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday.

Royal has been dealing with the hammy issue for the past month or so, and he doesn't seem like he'll be ready for Week 13. After getting a three-year, $13.5 million deal in the offseason, Royal has caught just 16 passes for 134 yards and a score. The Bolts just claimed Micheal Spurlock on waivers today, and he's essentially the same player.

Royal, Green, and Rosario all have hamstring injuries. English has a calf injury. Rex Hadnot will start at left guard in place of Green, and Michael Harris is starting at left tackle for Jared Gaither (groin, injured reserve).

The hamstring has bothered Royal for weeks, rendering him both inactive and ineffective when he has been on the field. He didn't catch a pass at Denver.

Making his return from a hamstring strain, Royal was the fourth option in the passing game. He hasn't topped three catches or today's 36 yards in a single game all year.

Eddie Royal (hamstring) and Robert Meachem (hamstring) are both practicing fully in Week 10.

Barring a setback, both players will be active Sunday versus the Bucs. Coach Norv Turner has been tight-lipped on the wide receiver pecking order since promising after last week's game that Danario Alexander would have a "big" role going forward. Alexander will be a risky flex play until it's confirmed that he's ahead of Meachem on the depth chart.
