Browns claimed G/T Oniel Cousins off waivers from the Ravens.

The Browns have pass protection problems at right tackle with Tony Pashos, and that isn't an issue Cousins will solve. He's still a worthwhile pickup for Cleveland, which lacks talented depth on the line. Cousins also has some experience at guard, though he won't push Shaun Lauvao out of the lineup.

Ravens waived G/T Oniel Cousins.

Just three years removed from being a third-round pick, Cousins could never get it together at tackle, and obviously didn't show enough at guard during training camp. His leash grew much shorter when the Ravens signed LT Bryant McKinnie, whose presence will likely shift Michael Oher back to right tackle and Jah Reid to the bench.

Coach Jim Harbaugh said that Oniel Cousins' move to guard is permanent.

Cousins could never crack the lineup at tackle, so perhaps he'll be able to use his 6'4/315-pound body better inside. If the Ravens move Marshal Yanda to their troublesome right tackle spot, Cousins could step in as a starting right guard.

Ravens OT Oniel Cousins kicked inside to guard for Saturday's practice.

"Maybe he is suited for that position," coach John Harbaugh said. "We'll find out." They might as well. Cousins started the preseason opener and took his usual beating at right tackle. They should know by now that Cousins is not the answer, so third-rounder Jah Reid will get as many reps as possible.

Ravens reserve OT Oniel Cousins will enter training camp on the roster bubble.

Cousins says his "goal is to be the starting right tackle," but concedes he "said that last year." The No. 99 pick in the 2008 draft simply hasn't panned out, earning just four career starts and struggling in all of them. If rookie Jah Reid beats him out, Cousins will be looking for a new home come September.

Ravens extended restricted free agent RT Oniel Cousins an original pick tender.

Cousins, a third-round pick in 2008, will be safe at this level after continuing to struggle in spot appearances last season. The Ravens would've liked Cousins to step up as a starting right tackle after Jared Gaither's injury, but his shoddy pass and run blocking forced RG Marshal Yanda outside.

Oniel Cousins has moved into the starting lineup at right tackle, pushing Marshal Yanda to right guard.

Cousins is atop the official depth chart this week, so it looks like more than just a one-week move. Chris Chester has lost his right guard job as the Ravens attempt to fix a rushing attack ranked just 31st in the league in yards per carry at 3.6.

Ravens RT Oniel Cousins is expected to start Monday night against the Jets in place of injured RT Jared Gaither (back).

The team doesn't sound overly concerned, as RT Tony Moll is also available should Cousins struggle. Ray Rice remains a strong RB1 play.

Baltimore won't have a good right tackle situation until Jared Gaither returns, but Cousins can only be an upgrade over third-stringer Tony Moll, who was filling in. The Ravens open against the Jets on Monday Night Football.

The Ravens still aren't sure if OT Oniel Cousins (concussion) will be cleared to play in the preseason finale.

"That's a game that he really needs to play," said coach John Harbaugh. "He's just missed so much with [throat procedure in] the OTAs and now again in training camp." Cousins' symptoms are "subsiding," but it's a bad sign that he's still experiencing periodic headaches a week and a half later.

Not so fast. Cousins is still experiencing symptoms, including migraines, from the concussion sustained a week ago. The Ravens are sure to play this cautiously even with Jared Gaither (back) out indefinitely.

Cousins isn't expected to play on Saturday, but will be fine for the regular season. He's Jared Gaither's primary backup.

Cousins is filling in as the starter with Jared Gaither (back) out for the remainder of the preseason. Third-stringer Tony Moll is now being pressed into service as the starting right tackle.

According to Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun, RT Oniel Cousins struggled in pass protection in the Ravens' preseason opener.

Preston also suggests that RG Marshal Yanda should start seeing time at the position. The sudden movement along the offensive line is due to the absence of Jared Gaither (back spasms). The Ravens are one of the few teams in the NFL that have offensive line depth.
