Raiders signed CB Tracy Porter to a one-year, $2.5 million contract.

Chalk up a quality signing for Oakland. Although Porter fell out of favor in Denver following his strange medical issues, the 26-year-old is a capable right corner that can play the slot in nickel formations. He's made 43 career starts and was a key piece of the Saints' 2009 Super Bowl team. The Raiders still have one of the league's worst secondaries. Their current projected starting corners are Porter and Phillip Adams, with Coye Francies at free safety.

Free agent CB Tracy Porter will visit the Raiders on Wednesday.

This, after he visited the Saints on Monday. Per ESPN's Bill Williamson, both teams "want" Porter, and a decision is expected shortly. Porter would be in for major snaps with either team.

The Saints reportedly hosted free agent CB Tracy Porter for a visit Monday.

Porter's market is heating up, as he's reportedly drawn interest from the Raiders, Dolphins, and now the team with which he began his career. Porter spent his first four NFL seasons in New Orleans. When healthy, he's primarily a right cornerback who can drop down to cover slot receivers in the nickel.
Mar 25 - 4:26 PM

The Raiders have reportedly been "talking to" free agent CB Tracy Porter.

The Dolphins also recently "made an inquiry" on Porter. The 26-year-old corner played for Raiders head coach Dennis Allen in New Orleans, and Oakland is in dire shape in the secondary. Porter should be amenable to a cheap deal.
Mar 25 - 3:01 PM

The Dolphins recently "made an inquiry" on free agent CB Tracy Porter.

Porter's market has been predictably dead after seizures and a concussion ruined his 2012 season. In years prior, Porter's knee was a concern. Still only 26 years old, Porter would be worth bringing to training camp to battle for a roster spot.
Mar 24 - 1:45 PM

Free agent CB Tracy Porter conceded that he "highly doubts" the Broncos will re-sign him.

The Broncos haven't even reached out to Porter's agent. "They seem to be set on the guys they were playing with last year," he said. "I just kind of got lost in the shuffle. I mean that's the nature of the business. So, I just have to see what else is out there." With his seizure issues behind him, the ex-Saint shouldn't have trouble finding a job. Porter could be a steal for a corner-needy team like Oakland.
Mar 6 - 12:35 PM

The Broncos are not expected to re-sign free agent CB Tracy Porter.

Denver paid Porter $4 million in 2012 to appear in six games and struggle in the rare instances he played. In-house alternatives at right corner are Tony Carter and Omar Bolden, although the Denver Post expects the Broncos to prioritize upgrading this position. Rumors have linked them to Darrelle Revis.

Feb 17 - 3:24 PM

ESPN's Bill Williamson believes free agent CB Tracy Porter could be a target for the Raiders.

The Raiders need help at just about every position, but they have a glaring need at corner. They currently don't have a single natural, starting-caliber corner on their roster. Porter languished behind Champ Bailey, Chris Harris and Tony Carter in Denver last season, so he could be had on the cheap. Raiders head coach Dennis Allen was Porter's position coach in New Orleans from 2008-10.

Feb 14 - 9:17 AM

Impending free agent CB Tracy Porter insists he will be "on the field" in 2013 after missing the majority of the 2012 season due to the after-effects of an August seizure.

Porter began experiencing light-headedness and a rapid heartbeat in October. He returned in late December, only to go down with a concussion after just one possession. Porter lost his starting job to Chris Harris and had trouble even entering the defensive back rotation. The 26-year-old is a poor bet to re-sign in Denver.
Jan 14 - 8:38 AM

Broncos declared CB Tracy Porter, QB Caleb Hanie, WR Andre Caldwell, FB Chris Gronkowski, TE Julius Thomas, OL C.J. Davis, and DT Sealver Siliga inactive for Saturday's Divisional Round playoff tilt with the Ravens.

Porter is battling a concussion, and he has played in just six games this season after coming over as a free agent from the Saints. Every other player is a healthy inactive. Both the Ravens and the Broncos enter the contest extremely healthy.
Jan 12 - 3:17 PM

Broncos RCB Tracy Porter has been ruled out for the Divisional Round.

Porter was concussed in Week 16 and hasn't played since. The Broncos have settled in with a regular secondary lineup of Chris Harris in the slot, Champ Bailey mirroring No. 1 receivers, and Tony Carter versus No. 2s in the nickel set.
Jan 11 - 1:23 PM

Broncos CB Tracy Porter was forced from Denver's Week 16 game against the Browns with a concussion, and will not return.

Making his first appearance since an illness sidelined him in Week 6, Porter was knocked out early in the first quarter. It could be a season-ending concussion, as the Broncos may decide rushing him back for the playoffs isn't worth the risk it would pose to his long-term health. Chris Harris and Tony Carter have shined opposite Champ Bailey in Porter's absence this season.

Coach John Fox suggested Tracy Porter could return to a backup role this week.

Porter hasn't been active since falling ill during Week 6. Since then, the Broncos have gone 9-0 while Chris Harris and Tony Carter have excelled opposite Champ Bailey. Porter is now considered mere depth despite being healthy.

Broncos RCB Tracy Porter (illness) has been cleared to play, but may have lost his starting job.

Porter has been sidelined by seizure symptoms for six weeks. Chris Harris and Tony Carter have played well in his absence, which means Porter could be a healthy scratch in Week 12. The Broncos defense has quietly emerged as one of the best in the league.
