Bills signed CB Terrence Wheatley from their practice squad.

The Patriots' 2008 second-rounder will add depth with LCB Terrence McGee (hamstring) and rookie Aaron Williams (chest) unlikely to play this week.

Jaguars waived CBs Terrence Wheatley and Jalil Johnson.

Wheatley is a former Patriots second-round pick. It's a bad sign that he couldn't crack a terrible Jaguars secondary. Johnson was a UDFA.

Jaguars placed CB Terrence Wheatley (hamstring) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Wheatley hardly saw the field in his brief sting with Jacksonville. Formerly of the Pats, Wheatley was the 62nd overall draft pick in 2008.

Jaguars signed CB Terrence Wheatley, formerly of the Patriots.

The 62nd overall pick in the 2008 draft, Wheatley flamed out on New England due to myriad injuries and extremely inconsistent play. The Jags have the worst starting four DBs in football, so he's at least worth a flier for them.

Patriots waived CB Terrence Wheatley.

Wheatley gets let go to make room for Logan Mankins. The former second-round pick can officially assume the label of "draft bust."

Patriots CB Terrence Wheatley (foot) is not expected back at practice for at least another two weeks.

Wheatley must have a broken bone in his foot. He hasn't practiced since going down in the third preseason game and all the momentum he built up over the offseason is shot. The 2008 second-round pick was pushing for a role in nickel and dime packages.

Patriots CB Terrence Wheatley appears to have passed Jonathan Wilhite on the depth chart.

It's good news for New England's secondary play that Wilhite will be on the field less this season, and it's even better news that the former second-round pick Wheatley is finally coming on. He's been a bust to this point.

It's now obvious that Terrence Wheatley is "on the outs" with Devin McCourty on board, according to the Boston Globe.

Jonathan Wilhite could be out of the mix as well. The Pats have veterans Leigh Bodden and Shawn Springs plus last year's second-rounder Darius Butler in addition to McCourty. Wheatley, the 62nd overall pick in 2008, has played in just 11 games the past two years due to injuries and poor play.

Patriots CB Terrence Wheatley (wrist surgery) is participating in the team's offseason program.

The second-year corner appears to be fully recovered from November wrist surgery, but he's been pushed down the depth by the signings of veterans Shawn Springs and Leigh Bodden.

Patriots placed rookie CB Terrence Wheatley (wrist surgery) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Wheatley was red flagged by several teams before April's draft because he has fused wrists from several surgeries in college. The second-round pick didn't earn regular playing time in 2008, finishing with just two tackles.

The Denver Post reports Patriots rookie CB Terrence Wheatley underwent surgery last week to repair ligaments in his left wrist.

Wheatley told the Post that it was season-ending surgery, but the Pats have yet to talk about placing him on injured reserve. The rookie may receive a lesson from cloaked coach Bill Belichick on disclosing injuries to the media.

Terrence Wheatley injured his hand in the second quarter of his Sunday Night game and was taken to the locker room.

The Patriots had to take an injury timeout to help Wheatley off the field. We'll continue to update you on Wheatley's status.

Patriots signed second-round CB Terrence Wheatley to a four-year contract, including a $890,000 signing bonus.

The Patriots are so thin at cornerback, don't be surprised if Wheatley plays a huge role this season, possibly as a starter. The injury-prone ballhawk profiles as a similar prospect to Asante Samuel coming out of school. Wheatley will compete with Fernando Bryant, Jason Webster, and fellow rook Jonathan Wilhite for playing time, among others.

Second-round rookie Terrence Wheatley opened Patriots minicamps at Asante Samuel's old left cornerback spot.

Ellis Hobbs isn't participating in the rookie camp, so we wouldn't read into this much. But Wheatley could have a chance to start right away. Jonathan Wilhite ran at right cornerback. Fernando Bryant is also in the mix to start.
