Harry Douglas caught two passes for 23 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Titans.
Douglas only played in three-wide sets, as expected with Julio Jones and Roddy White both healthy. Although new starting tight end Levine Toilolo is a zero in the pass game, this role isn't going to yield volume for Douglas, who has three catches for 40 yards this preseason. He's more of a deep-league handcuff for Jones/White owners than a standalone pick. Aug 23 - 9:56 PM

Coach Mike Smith said the Falcons will not be using a "F" or "move" tight end this season.

With Tony Gonzalez retiring and stiff red-zone threat Levine Toilolo as the starter, a schematic change is necessary. The Falcons will use a traditional in-line tight end along with a three-wide base featuring Julio Jones, Roddy White and Harry Douglas. Still, Douglas won't come anywhere close to the 133 targets he saw last year while Jones and White were crippled by injury.

Harry Douglas caught seven passes for 58 yards in Sunday's Week 17 loss to the Panthers.

Typically a No. 3 receiver and slot man, Douglas was forced into the No. 1 job for much of this season as Julio Jones and Roddy White battled injuries. Douglas handled himself impressively in the unfamiliar role. He finished with 85 catches for 1,067 yards and two touchdowns -- all career highs. But as long as everyone is healthy for 2014, Douglas is a prime candidate to be overdrafted in fantasy circles. His previous career highs were 39 catches and 498 yards.

Harry Douglas caught five passes for 46 yards in Week 16 against the 49ers.

Douglas was targeted nine times on the night and was the intended receiver on what proved to be the game-sealing 89-yard pick-six by ILB Navorro Bowman. Douglas did go over 1,000 yards for the first time in his career with his effort on Monday night, however, and has been a bright spot in a lost season. He's scored just two touchdowns, though, and hasn't topped 46 yards in three weeks. Douglas and the Falcons take on the Panthers in Week 17.

Harry Douglas caught five passes for 37 yards in Week 15 versus Washington.

Douglas, Roddy White, and Tony Gonzalez each tied for the team lead with seven targets. Douglas couldn't do much after the catch in a juicy matchup against the Redskins' soft pass defense. He'll have a tough date with the 49ers next week on the road, leaving Douglas as a borderline WR3/4. There could be plenty of garbage-time opportunities, however.

Harry Douglas was limited to two catches for 20 yards in Atlanta's Week 14 loss to Green Bay.

Douglas had two ugly drops and was otherwise bottled up by emerging Packers shutdown slot corner Tramon Williams, who held Nate Burleson catch-less on Thanksgiving. Miles Austin owners should take note of Williams' smothering inside-the-numbers coverage for Week 15. Douglas will be a far more attractive fantasy play when the Falcons take on the Redskins next time out.

Harry Douglas caught six passes for 73 yards in Sunday's Week 13 win over the Bills.

Douglas was very close to a much bigger game. Early on, he appeared to get into the end zone but replays showed his knee was down at the 6-inch line. Later, he broke into the open on a screen pass but barely got tripped up around the Bills' 20-yard line. And finally, he drew a pass interference call in the end zone that led to a Steven Jackson touchdown. Douglas led the team with a monstrous 15 targets and now has double-digit targets in three straight games. On pace for 88 catches, 1,208 yards and three touchdowns, the slot man will be a fine WR3 against the Packers in Week 14.

Harry Douglas caught nine passes for 79 yards in Atlanta's Week 12 loss to the Saints.

It was another blockbuster PPR effort, but a zero-calorie night for "real-life" purposes. All but three of Douglas' catches went for fewer than 10 yards, while none went for longer than 15. Douglas is Atlanta's answer to Julian Edelman, albeit with less open-field playmaking ability. Nevertheless, he's averaging seven catches for 102 yards in six games since joining the starting lineup, and should remain a high-end WR3 for the foreseeable future. Douglas gets the Bills' shaky secondary in Week 13.

Matt Ryan called the play of Harry Douglas a "silver lining" in the Falcons' lost season.

A natural slot receiver without true difference-making ability, Douglas has expanded his game in two-wide sets and excelled. Over the last five games, he's averaging 7.0 catches for 107.0 yards with two touchdowns. The Falcons figure to be in comeback mode once again in Thursday night's game against the Saints, so we can confidently expect the opportunities to be there. Douglas is a fine WR3.

Harry Douglas caught six passes for 134 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons' Week 11 loss to Tampa Bay.

The entire Atlanta passing attack benefited immensely from garbage time, as it could get nothing going for the short period Sunday's affair was in doubt. Douglas isn't a great talent and never has been, but he's capitalizing on his opportunities on a weekly basis now and will remain a starter for the rest of the season. He'll be a solid WR3 when the Falcons face the Saints in Week 12.

Harry Douglas is active for Week 11 at Tampa Bay.

He's safe to lean on as a strong WR3 against the leaky Bucs pass defense.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Falcons expect Harry Douglas (knee, questionable) to be active Sunday at Tampa Bay.

Douglas missed Thursday's practice, but the team was "encouraged" by his return to a limited session Friday and anticipates Douglas starting in this plus matchup. With Roddy White expected to take Darrelle Revis' coverage for most of Sunday's game, Douglas should face burnable secondary CBs Leonard Johnson and Johnthan Banks. He'll be a strong WR3 if formally declared active.

Harry Douglas (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 11 against the Buccaneers after returning to Friday's practice.

The Falcons often list players as "questionable" on the injury report even when they are expected to play. Douglas' return to Friday's practice after missing Thursday's session strongly suggests he will be in the lineup against Tampa Bay. To be sure, check back on Sunday morning for Atlanta's inactives.

Harry Douglas (knee) returned to practice Friday.

Douglas practiced in full Wednesday before sitting out altogether Thursday. His return to the field bodes well for his chances of suiting up against the Bucs. Roddy White will likely see a lot of Darrelle Revis, leaving Douglas to work on rookie CB Johnthan Banks and struggling slot corner Leonard Johnson. Douglas is a WR3.

Updating an earlier item, Harry Douglas missed Thursday's practice with a knee issue.

It was previously unknown why Douglas missed the session. He likely suffered the injury in Wednesday's practice, but that usually results in a "limited" tag on the day of. It's possible Douglas went down at the exact end of Wednesday's session, or tweaked it early Thursday. Either way, his Week 11 status is now murky, while what he's able to do on Friday will be paramount. Owners planning to trot Douglas out as their WR3 need to have a back-up plan ready.
