Craig Stevens, starting in place of the injured Jared Cook, caught two passes for 16 yards against the Jets in Week 15.

Stevens got the start, as expected, over the athletic rookie Taylor Thompson, but he saw just three targets. Stevens was used mainly for his blocking prowess, and he isn't anywhere near being fantasy relevant.

Craig Stevens caught five passes for 63 yards in relief of Jared Cook (shoulder) Sunday.

Stevens played 25 total snaps in the first two games of the season, but was called upon for 49 snaps against the Lions. The usual blocking specialist will be a desperation flier if Cook misses time.

Titans re-signed TE Craig Stevens to a four-year, $15 million contract.

The blocking complement to Jared Cook, Stevens hauled in nine passes for 166 yards and a touchdown in 2011, starting 11 of his 15 appearances. Set to turn 28 before the 2012 season, Stevens did not grade out well as a blocker according to Pro Football Focus, but the Titans apparently like his potential. Stevens' re-signing may end aging third-stringer Daniel Graham's tenure in Nashville.

The Titans intend to sign free agent TE Craig Stevens to a long-term extension "well" before free agency opens in March.

Despite his passing-game shortcomings, the Titans envision Stevens as an integral part of their offense as a run blocker and complement to catch-first TE Jared Cook. Stevens has only 20 receptions over the past two seasons.

Titans declared TE Craig Stevens, OT Byron Stingily, LB Colin McCarthy, DT Zach Clayton, DE William Hayes, QB Rusty Smith, and SS Chris Hope inactive for Week 8 against the Colts.

Stevens can't get over the hump with his troublesome rib injury. The Titans have no other surprises in their inactives.

TE Craig Stevens (rib) expects to return following the Titans' Week 6 bye.

The blocking tight end nearly gave it a go in Week 5, so he should be good for Week 7. Through four games, he's made four catches for 73 yards.

Titans TE Craig Stevens (rib) started Sunday's loss to the Steelers but saw very limited action.

"I tried to give it a shot and it was just a little too painful," Stevens said. The blocking tight end has four catches through five games.

Titans TE Craig Stevens (rib) is expected to play in Sunday's game against the Steelers.

Stevens suffered cartilage damage in the win over the Browns. "The cartilage is painful — he doesn’t want to laugh a lot, which he doesn’t anyway," coach Mike Munchak said. Stevens is a blocker, allowing Jared Cook to play his "move" tight end role.

Titans TE Craig Stevens left Sunday's game with a rib injury.

The blocking specialist suffered the injury in the first half, and he's not been back in the third quarter. He did have a 12-yard touchdown before the injury forced him from the game.

Titans coach Jeff Fisher says TE Craig Stevens (knee surgery) could return in Week 12 against Houston.

Stevens has been a valuable run blocker this season and will be counted on even more given the team's quarterback situation.

Titans TE Craig Stevens underwent arthroscopic surgery this week to repair meniscus damage in his knee.

Stevens suffered the knee injury last week, and he's expected to be sidelined "a few weeks." Though Stevens has been a blocking specialist this season, receiving specialist Jared Cook is expected to see increased snaps. The Titans may have to lean on Bo Scaife as more of a blocker now.

Craig Stevens is expected to take over as the Titans' blocking tight end this season.

Alge Crumpler is now a Patriot, leaving Stevens with the crucial role of sealing the edge for Chris Johnson. Although the coaches say Stevens has potential as a pass catcher, it won't happen with Bo Scaife and Jared Cook around. Stevens is strictly a blocker.

Beat writer Jim Wyatt expects TE Craig Stevens to have a bigger role in 2010.

Both Alge Crumpler and Bo Scaife have uncertain futures in Tennessee, opening up some potential snaps. Stevens, however, is a blocking tight end and won't have a fantasy impact.

Titans TE Craig Stevens left Sunday night's game with a concussion.

Stevens crashed head-first into a teammate while trying to wrap up a tackle on the opening kickoff and immediately fell to the ground. After several minutes he was able to walk off the field under his own power, but he had a dazed look on his face and could miss several weeks.
