Jacob Tamme caught 3-of-4 targets for 28 yards in the Falcons' Week 3 win over the Saints on Monday night.
After seeing eight targets in each of the Falcons' first two games, Tamme was an afterthought on Monday night with the Falcons' running backs doing all the damage and Matt Ryan spreading the ball around to eight different targets. Tamme's lone missed target was an end-zone try that sailed incomplete. Tamme will be a borderline TE1/2 next week against the Panthers. Sep 27 - 12:17 AM

Date:

Jacob Tamme caught 5-of-8 targets for 75 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons' Week 2 win over the Raiders.

Tamme has been a bigger part of Atlanta's offense than expected with back-to-back games of eight targets. Rookie Austin Hooper is getting playing time, but Tamme is locked in as the Falcons' primary pass-catching tight end. Tamme will be worth a long look as a streamer in Week 3 against the Saints.
Sep 18 - 8:04 PM

Jacob Tamme caught 6-of-8 targets for 51 yards in the Falcons' Week 1 loss to Tampa Bay.

Tamme beat out Austin Hooper (1 target) for the Falcons' starting tight end job in camp, and was a big part of Atlanta's passing game in Week 1, equaling both Mohamed Sanu and Julio Jones in total targets. Tamme can be a useful role player on possession routes, but lacks big-play ability. Still, he should be worth streamer consideration once the NFL bye weeks kick in.
Sep 11 - 5:44 PM

Jacob Tamme secured 2-of-2 targets for 16 yards in the Falcons' third preseason game.

Tamme continued to run as Atlanta's first-team receiving tight end, ahead of rookie Austin Hooper. Hooper did get action with the ones, but lost a fumble following a reception up the seam and isn't posing a noticeable threat to Tamme yet. Tamme finished 2015 with a 59-657-1 receiving line across 15 games. His 2016 projection should be in the same range, or perhaps slightly lower.
Aug 25 - 10:07 PM

Jacob Tamme caught 4-of-5 targets for 61 yards in the Falcons' Week 17 loss to the Saints.

The 2008 fourth-rounder finishes with 59 catches for 657 yards and a touchdown. The yards are a new career high, and the catches his most since 2010. Tamme ended up functioning as Matt Ryan's No. 2 receiver, a role he is ill-suited for. The Falcons will be in big trouble if Tamme remains their No. 2 weapon for 2016. Fantasy owners shouldn't count on more than TE2 status.
Jan 3 - 6:04 PM

Jacob Tamme secured all four of his targets for 29 yards in the Falcons' Week 16 win over the Panthers.

He hasn’t scored a touchdown since Week 8 and mostly took a backseat to Julio Jones and Roddy White on Sunday. Tamme is no longer a fantasy consideration.
Sun, Dec 27, 2015 06:43:00 PM

Jacob Tamme was held without a catch on one target Week 15 against the Jaguars.

Tamme was invisible all day as the offense ran through Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman almost exclusively. Expected to be a TE1 streaming option with Leonard Hankerson gone, Tamme can now be sent to the wire.

Jacob Tamme (back) is probable for Week 15 against the Jaguars.

Tamme was limited earlier this week but was upgraded to a full practice on Thursday. He's averaged 50.2 receiving yards per game during Atlanta's six-game losing streak. He'll be a TE2 against Jacksonville.
Fri, Dec 18, 2015 02:06:00 PM

Jacob Tamme (back) was upgraded to "full" on Thursday.

Tamme will be ready to go against the Jaguars. Matt Ryan's No. 3 option behind Julio Jones and Devonta Freeman, Tamme is a top-15 option for Week 15.
Thu, Dec 17, 2015 05:38:00 PM

Jacob Tamme (back) was limited in Wednesday's practice.

Tamme should be fine for Sunday. He'll be a TE2 against Jacksonville.
Wed, Dec 16, 2015 06:42:00 PM

Jacob Tamme caught 4-of-5 targets for 26 yards in the Falcons' Week 14 loss to the Panthers.

Matt Ryan went off the rails against the undefeated Panthers, sinking his entire skill corps. Even with Leonard Hankerson done for the season, Tamme has come down to earth in recent weeks. He'll be more TE2 than TE1 against the Jaguars in Week 14.
Sun, Dec 13, 2015 05:59:00 PM

Jacob Tamme (shoulder) remained limited at Thursday's practice.

He's not in danger of missing Sunday's game against Carolina. With Leonard Hankerson (hamstring) sidelined, Tamme has emerged as Atlanta's No. 2 receiving option behind Julio Jones. He'll be on the TE1/2 borderline this week.
Thu, Dec 10, 2015 04:19:00 PM

Jacob Tamme (shoulder) was limited in Falcons practice Wednesday.

Tamme played his normal complement of snaps in Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay, but only drew four targets. With Josh Norman on Julio Jones, expect Tamme to see 7-9 targets this week. He'll be a fringe TE1 streamer.
Wed, Dec 9, 2015 08:59:00 PM

Jacob Tamme caught 3-of-4 targets for 26 yards Week 13 against the Bucs.

Tamme had been solid with Leonard Hankerson out of the lineup and lit up the Bucs in their last meeting, but he was a non-factor most of the day. Devonta Freeman dominated the underneath targets, and Matt Ryan overthrew Tamme on what would have been a long gain. Despite the disappointing day, Tamme will remain a low-end TE1 the rest of the way with Hankerson on injured reserve.
Sun, Dec 6, 2015 05:49:00 PM

Jacob Tamme secured 5-of-6 targets for 69 yards in the Falcons' Week 12 loss to the Vikings.

Tamme has been the Falcons' primary checkdown pass catcher whenever Leonard Hankerson (hamstring) has been inactive this season. That continued on Sunday as Tamme led Atlanta in receiving while Xavier Rhodes put clamps on Julio Jones (5-56). If Hankerson misses Week 13 against the Buccaneers, Tamme will remain one of the top TE1 streamer plays on the board.
