Jacob Tamme "hasn’t done much" in training camp.
The Falcons did little to upgrade their tight end situation this offseason, adding Tamme and oft-injured TE Tony Moeaki to compete with Levine Toilolo. Tamme worked with the first team in the second preseason game and remains the favorite to start. None of Atlanta's tight ends are on the TE2 radar. Aug 22 - 5:30 PM

Jacob Tamme did not catch his only target in the Falcons' second preseason game.

The stat line was not impressive, but the real story is Tamme worked with the first team offense. He appears to be ahead of Tony Moeaki and Levine Toilolo on the depth chart. In what could be a high-scoring offense, Tamme could be useful as a streamer at some point this season.

ESPN Falcons reporter Vaughn McClure believes TE Jacob Tamme can come in and be a "real threat" on offense as a pass catcher.

If the season were to start today, McClure envisions Tamme as the pass-catching tight end and Tony Moeaki as the in-line block-first tight end, leaving Levine Toilolo as the No. 3. With Roddy White's decline and OC Kyle Shanahan's fondness for the tight end, Tamme could emerge as a red-zone threat.

Jacob Tamme has "taken early control" of the Falcons' tight end competition.

Tamme's competition is oft-injured Tony Moeaki and lumbering giant Levine Toilolo. It's a battle he's certainly favored to win, although it's worth noting the Falcons bid on Tim Wright when he was waived by the Patriots last week. Regardless, Tamme will be worth monitoring as a possible streamer at the thin tight end position. He's had more than 50 catches in a season twice in his career.
Jun 18 - 8:27 AM

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's D. Orlando Ledbetter singled out TE Jacob Tamme as a player who has stood out the most at Falcons OTAs.

Tamme inked a two-year deal with the Falcons in March and is competing with Tony Moeaki to be the pass-catching complement to blocker Levine Toilolo. Moeaki hasn't stayed healthy in years, leaving Tamme as the early favorite. New OC Kyle Shanahan has a history of keeping his tight end involved as a pass catcher. Tamme could bring back TE2 value and become a streaming option.

Falcons signed TE Jacob Tamme, formerly of the Broncos, to a two-year contract.

Tamme picked the Falcons over a return to the Broncos. He'll have a shot at far more looks in Atlanta than he ever would have in Denver. 2015 marks only the second season Tamme, 30, has played in his career without Peyton Manning. Levine Toilolo's a mere end-of-the-line blocker. New OC Kyle Shanahan's offense likes to feature the tight end, which works in Tamme's favor. We still wouldn't be surprised if Atlanta addressed tight end early in the draft. It'd be a great round-two landing spot for Minnesota's Maxx Williams.
Mar 19 - 10:49 AM

ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports Jacob Tamme has agreed to a deal with the Falcons, though he "wouldn't rule out the Broncos" until the contract is signed.

With underachieving Levine Toilolo penciled in as the starter, the Falcons needed to address tight end and it sounds like they're doing so with Tamme. However, as McClure points out, there's also incentive to return to Denver, as Tamme has a close relationship with Peyton Manning having played with him since 2008. Owen Daniels and Virgil Green currently sit atop Denver's tight end depth chart.

Free agent Jacob Tamme is currently visiting the Falcons.

The Tamme visit comes on the heels of Atlanta meeting with Rob Housler. Housler would be a higher-ceiling target than 30-year-old Tamme, who is best suited for a No. 3 tight end role at this stage of his journeymanish career.

The Denver Post reports the Broncos remain interested in free agent TE Jacob Tamme.

The Broncos added Owen Daniels and re-signed Virgil Green, so Tamme would be veteran depth if he returns. Tamme had a 14/109/2 line as Denver's No. 3 tight end last season.

Jacob Tamme (ribs) is inactive for Sunday's Week 15 game at San Diego.

With Julius Thomas (ankle) healthy, Tamme would have had a minimal role anyway. C.J. Anderson (ankle) is also ready to rock, as expected. The rest of the Broncos inactives: Cody Latimer, Ronnie Hillman, Kayvon Webster, Paul Cornick and O'Brien Schofield.

Jacob Tamme (ribs) is questionable for Week 14.

He didn't practice all week. Even if Julius Thomas (questionable, ankle) is held out and Tamme manages to play, he won't be a Week 14 fantasy option.

Jacob Tamme (ribs) remained sidelined Thursday.

Tamme isn't looking good for Sunday's game with the Bills, but that will change if he can return on Friday. Either way, the expected return of Julius Thomas renders Tamme obsolete in fantasy leagues.

Jacob Tamme (ribs) did not practice Wednesday.

Tamme suffered the injury in Sunday night's win, limiting him to just 24 snaps. With Julius Thomas (ankle) tentatively expected to return, Tamme will be reduced to a backup role if active this week.

Jacob Tamme was held to catch for four yards in Week 13 against the Chiefs.

Tamme dropped a wide-open touchdown in the second quarter. He's been a non-factor filling in for Julius Thomas, and will be reduced to a backup role if Thomas returns next week.

Jacob Tamme lost a yard on his lone reception in Denver's Week 12 win over the Dolphins.

With Julius Thomas (ankle) sidelined, Virgil Green got the start at tight end as a blocker, limiting Tamme to all of one target. Tamme actually turned a second look into a five-yard touchdown, but it was nullified by a holding penalty. Tamme will be a low-end TE2 if Thomas isn't back for Week 13.
