The Redskins worked out free agent WR Keenan Burton on Tuesday.
The Bears and Giants have also kicked Burton's tires in the past couple of weeks. While the Redskins have depth issues behind Santana Moss, Burton wouldn't be an obvious upgrade. Tue, Sep 28, 2010 06:50:00 PM

The Bears will reportedly work out free agent WR Keenan Burton next Tuesday.

The Giants have also shown interest. It's hard to see where the injury-prone Burton fits in on the Bears depth chart. The team is likely just doing due diligence here in case of in-season injuries.

Rams released WR Keenan Burton.

Someone had to go with the addition of Mark Clayton, but it's a bad sign for the oft-injured Burton that Dominique Curry, an undrafted free agent special teamer, was kept over him. Burton's long-term outlook remains poor.

Keenan Burton and Danny Amendola will be the Rams' starting wideouts in Thursday night's preseason finale.

Laurent Robinson is out with a tweaked foot. It was reported Wednesday that Burton was "shut down" due to knee swelling, but the injury didn't turn out to be serious. This will be Burton's audition to make the Rams' final 53.

Rams WR Keenan Burton has been shut down in training camp due to further swelling in his troublesome knee.

Burton has had bad knees since entering the league, and they're flaring back up. This should effectively remove him from the race to replace Donnie Avery. The best bets remain current favorite Danny Amendola, Brandon Gibson, and rookie Mardy Gilyard. Gibson has the superior skill set for the job, but the coaching staff seems to prefer Amendola's reliability and Gilyard's swagger.

Rams WR Keenan Burton conceded that he could be on the roster bubble.

Burton has shown an inability to consistently get open or make plays since being selected in the fourth round in 2008. He's also coming off surgery to repair a ruptured patellar tendon. Brandon Gibson and Danny Amendola will likely end up ahead of Burton on the depth chart even if he makes the team.

Rams WR Keenan Burton (torn patellar tendon) has resumed practicing in team drills at OTAs.

Burton tore his right patellar tendon last November. Prior to the injury, he was exposed as lacking starting-caliber talent while attempting to replace Laurent Robinson. Burton will be on the roster bubble in training camp.

Rams placed WR Keenan Burton on injured reserve with a torn right patellar tendon, ending his season.

Rookie Brandon Gibson, coming off a 93-yard game, will move into the every-down receiver position opposite Donnie Avery. Burton proved this year that he lacks the talent and separation skills to be a long-term starter. With a cheap contract, he'll return in 2010 to compete for a substitute role.

Keenan Burton is expected to land on injured reserve after suffering a patella injury in the Rams' Week 10 loss to the Saints.

Burton went down in the first quarter when he tripped over his own feet and landed awkwardly. He'll become the third Rams wide receiver to land on IR following Laurent Robinson and Brooks Foster. Burton had 18 catches in the four games leading up to Sunday and his absence will open up more chances for rookie talent Brandon Gibson.

Keenan Burton left Sunday's game with a knee injury and is doubtful to return.

Burton tripped over his own feet in the end zone and was worked on by the Rams' medical staff before being carted off the field. He didn't show any indication of pain, but was fitted with an inflatable cast.

Keenan Burton caught five passes for 54 yards in Week 8.

Burton showed a little more flair after the catch this Sunday than he has in weeks past, but he still dropped a few easily catchable passes and has a long way to go as a wideout. He has little value on a bad Rams team.

Keenan Burton caught five passes for 37 yards in the Rams' Week 6 loss.

Burton has absolutely zero YAC ability. It looked like he had the potential for a good day after Marc Bulger hit him for 21 yards on the opening drive, but that was the only good play from him on the day. With Donnie Avery leaving the game, Burton was forced to be the team's No. 1 receiver. He'll go up against the Colts' secondary next week.

Keenan Burton (questionable, hamstring) returned to Rams practice on a limited basis Friday.

Burton isn't a fantasy option against Minnesota at less than 100 percent.

Rams WR Keenan Burton (hamstring) was unable to practice on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday.

It's starting to look like Burton will miss this week's game. The Rams offense can't even support one fantasy receiver right now, much less a second. Burton isn't worth a roster spot.

Rams WR Keenan Burton was limited in Wednesday's practice with a hamstring injury.

Both starting Rams wideouts are battling hamstring problems. Burton had just one reception for 12 yards in his first start of '09 last weekend.
